Avamere Hillsboro is no doubt a very nice facility. However, based on my experiences, I have concerns regarding staff and management as it relates to resident safety. Recently, there was a fire drill late at night. The two caregivers (for three floors) were both new. Neither caregiver had been trained in what to do. Also, there is a floor mat in the entry to the building that is a trip hazard. Several residents have fallen, but management has taken no action to replace the mat. If you place a family member there, keep close check on them and LISTEN to them if they have concerns. Ask them to tell you if they have any concerns. Often residents there are afraid to complain because the don't want to concern family members, or they fear retribution from staff/management.

My family member was here for rehabilitation. After 2 weeks, I did not feel they were receiving adequate care. The rooms are not cleaned as often as they should be. People were nice, but the skilled staff spent most of their time chatting at the nurses station rather than meeting residents needs. The worst part of all was the extreme lack of communication among the staff. I expected more from this facility overall.

Mountain Ridge overall is not going well. They were not upfront and honest with us. They told us that they had lots of activities and other things. They get him dressed and fed and then sit him in front of the TV all day. I was hoping for a lot more than what we are getting here.

My mom didn't like Gilman Park Assisted Living at all. I just didn't have enough time to get to know everyone there. She was only there for about 2 months and then passed away. [removed]

The food there is terrible. The food that they had was just horrible. And there is also not enough staff at Emeritus at Sandia Springs either. And that is pretty much all I have to say about the place.

Crappy. [Removed]. Poor service.

Our loved one did not have a good experience here. The community did not follow through on a lot of things they promised during the sales phase. One is example is that the community claimed they had an apartment available for family members to use for a few days if they wanted to come for a visit. A week after moving in he tried to reserve the room to have some relatives come for his birthday the community told him that service was no longer available as they had filled the apartment. They also had problems with the dining service, there never seemed to be enough food. Nearly every meal they would run low on some portion of what they were serving, sometimes even the entrees! They also felt like the staff were not very friendly or welcoming, and no effort at all was made to introduce them to the community, and it was hard to get a hold of staff members to answer questions.

They seemed to think that we would be able to qualify for some financial help. It turns out they were wrong, and that is a really expensive mistake for us. I kind of feel like we were intentionally misled. They were really good before, a few years ago. They have since been bought out by someone else and it was so much better before. The back area with the memory care is not clean. They don't have enough staff, and that is very obvious. They only have 2 people for 25 patients, and they are always losing my mom. It has not been a good experience.

I don't get a chance to visit often myself, but from what I've heard from my loved one they have a lot of areas they need to work on. To start, she has been very unhappy with the food. They are also very slow to respond to the in-room call buttons. She says that the staff are all very friendly, they're just overworked and understaffed.

I am very disappointed in the administration at this community, they have poor communication with me and are very disorganized. They do not take responsibility for there residents and often do not tell me the correct information. I have had many conflicts with them and hope to see improvement in the near future. Another thing I am concerned about is the lack of staffing they have at the facility. They are supposed to always have at least three workers on for the day and I have yet to see more than two. They have 30 people in there memory care unit and need to have more staff available to be available to help the residents.

Well very poor communication w admin. Huge price increase without notice. I know head admin got let go. Hoping for a new admin ready to work. My dad is in an unassisted cottage. Gets very little for the crazy price!

If you are independent, come to this place but if you require a lot of assistance- this place isn’t for you. Workers WILL ignore you for period of time even if it’s emergency. Foods are decent, living space is decent.

My wife was able to get out of the lockdown Memory Care facility around 2:30 one morning in Dec with light weight clothes, no shoes and temperatures in the teans. We found her sitting in a car across the street five hours after she got out. I don't think she ever recuperated from that experience as she passed away a month later. I would not recommend this facility unless they fixed their problems.

My loved one was previously a resident at The Oaks at Lebanon and we did not have a good experience at this facility. The cleanliness was good. The friendliness and activities were okay. The care services and ultimately the value for cost, however, were terrible. My loved one had many issues at this facility. Individual Care/Assistance was not great nor timely when needed. There were issues with the kitchen and the food. Overall, just not a good experience and I would not recommend The Oaks at Lebanon to others.

The other review is accurate. Staff is undertrained. Good luck if you're in pain. If you push the button for help with anything, you'll have to wait at least 45 minutes to get it. There are only a few employees here that actually care about the patients needs. The food is awful. They advertise snacks that are never available. Aides are always on their phones or sleeping on the job.

Management here has been horrible for over a year. I have a family member who resides in their Memory Care unit. They haven't had an Administrator for over a year and it's been a complete disaster. I've complained to the Med Techs and caregivers but it seems like they all feel the same way and not knowing who to ask for help. The food they are served is horrible. I encourage any of you that are interested in this Memory Care to spend at least half the day here and eat the food. You will notice how hard the workers work, how horrible the food is, and how management does not step foot in there. They recently hired an Activities director who does not spend more than 2 hours of the day with the residents. She also picks and chooses who she talks to. An email has been sent to corporate for [name removed]. I will update if she responds. The problem here is management. Not the workers. The staff is wonderful and caring. It's probably the only wonderful thing about this place.

The communication was not good and no follow though we believe it was due to staff loss issues. We couldn’t get a call back from anyone in the community. We believe it was just bad timing and not the right fit for mom. But I have been told it is a good facility, just our personal experience was bad.

This place was ok. At the tour, they did tell me that they had a 2 week waiting period before move ins. That wasn't an issue for us, but after putting us on the list they never ever called us back.

My husband was there for 4 months. The care was awful. Bathroom was always dirty-bed was soiled. Management would not do anything about it unless complained. Short staffed. Food was cold.

This community was the most filthiest place that I have seen. the staff were nice the management was not. Please do not take your family or animals here. The staff that help with the residents were great with us.
