Great medical care services

My father stayed at the rehab facility at Westminster Woods, In JC a year ago. It had top notch medical and support services as well as a friendly staff. The facility was very clean. I would highly recommend their health care services.

After visiting over 40 CCRCs we chose WSA because of its' location, amenities and care. Awesome floor plans that can be modified. Spacious campus with unlimited activities for all ages and residents that are vital and young enough to enjoy all there is offered. We are extremely glad we are here in World Golf Village and know that we made the right choice.

Wonderful home

We have been in the independent apartments at Westminster Towers Orlando for 3 months and love it. The staff have the attitude that they are there to pamper the residents and they do. There are several meal plans to choose from. We have one meal daily and the food is delicious. The wait staff is so tuned to us that our usual drinks are brought to us without having to order them. There are too many activities for one person to do, so we have many choices. There are physical, mental, and entertainment choices every day. The other residents are so welcoming and friendly. I feel I have 50 new friends with more to make as I get to know them better! There is a variety of ages in the independent living, ranging from mid 60's to 100+. I can't say enough positive things about our new home.

Big Results From A Small Facility

I have been a rehab patient at the Manor twice now. Both times I can say that I am glad that I made that choice. The therapy team did a great job planning out and performing my therapy. The nursing team did a great job caring for my wounds and ensuring that not only were my immediate needs taken care of but that other areas of need were addressed. A small facility with a big caring heart.

We are very happy with Westminster Woods so far. I love the community feel to the place and the fact that every one is very friendly. The staff is very helpful, the food is delicious, and the place is clean. My mother is also really enjoying being a part of the Choir, but I think that the big selling point Is her apartment. My mother has a lovely little garden apartment on the first floor of the community with a sliding glass door that opens out into the courtyard. She is able to have her plants and her dog here as well. I really feel that this is the best place for her. I'd recommend it.

I would have loved to bring my Husband here. They had very large grounds and he wouldn’t have had to worry about switching facilities as he progressed. I would have to buy a small cottage on the land and as his condition progressed he would have moved from assisted living to their nursing home and he would have been able to maintain the rest of his life here. I really would have picked but the administrators told me they didn’t want to accept residents with dementia who wandered. The building had 3 or 4 stories and he could have easily gone on the elevator and gotten lost in the large plot of grounds. There is only 1 fee when you live here and you could stay no matter what level of care you need. I wanted this to be the place where he could have stayed.

We're glad we moved early!

My wife and I moved to Westminster Winter Park three and a half years ago, the best move we've ever made. Active and in good health, we were a little anxious about moving to a retirement community, a place we would live the rest of our lives. Because of WWP's active wellness program we now expect to live longer, and due to the extensive range of interesting activities and fascinating people, we're busier and having more fun than we did living in a condo. We chose Westminster Winter Park because of its long term financial stability and because of the warm, caring, welcoming community of residents and staff.

How to be Truly Independent

We are mid-80's & have lived in an independent Westminster Winter Park apt. for almost five years. We are freed from any future concerns or even current ones - they even change our lightbulbs! Our children & their families love to visit, although we're usually busy participating in the huge choice of activities or volunteering. In every way, this is a beautiful place and a beautiful full-life choice for any who join us. Golf, billiards, art, books, boat trips, shopping, celebrations? All here and MORE. WWP is a blessing for ALL.

I know we made the right decision to live here. My husband and I have been here for nine months. There are four things I really love about this community. First, residents and staff demonstrate an openness and friendliness that creates a welcoming environment. Secondly, intellectual and physical needs are met through stimulating programs. Thirdly, we love opening the backdoor of our villa and enjoying a cup of tea on our patio. Lastly, it’s affordable. Administration openness and transparency at Westminster Suncoast has impressed us greatly. The integrity and faith-based nature of this community shines through all that it exemplifies.

Hurricane Irma

My mother is 95 years old and has been a resident of Winter Park Towers for over 2 years. She has been very happy since the day she moved in and we have been very pleased with all aspects of the facility. I am writing now because we were particularly pleased with how things were handled during the recent Hurricane Irma. All residents were kept up-to-date on what was happening and were well prepared long before the hurricane arrived. There was plenty of food and water as well as a generator in case power failed. My mother was even able to have a line run into her room to keep her medical equipment running. My husband and I had to evacuate from the beach and went to my daughter's house in Baldwin Park, about 2 miles from my mother. I asked her if she would feel safer staying with us. She replied, "Oh no, I'm in the safest place I can be. Besides, we are going to have a party and play games!" She had a wonderful time riding out the hurricane with her friends. I can't imagine a better place to live. She told be I should get my name on the waiting list soon!

My Forever Home

Home is where the heart is — and my heart is here at Westminster Shores!. The water is what first drew me to Westminster Shores, but there is so much more that keeps me here. When I first moved to The Shores, I only imagined myself being down here part of the year as I still own a home up north. Now, if I go back to Philadelphia a total of six weeks a year, that will be a lot! I'm hooked. I came to Florida to get away from winters, and for more sunshine. St. Petersburg holds the Guinness Book of World Records for the most consecutive sunny days and I’m enjoying each one. The St. Petersburg area is very desirable, weather-wise, and culturally, too. There are wonderful museums and musical venues, professional sports, and the beaches. Westminster Shores, in particular, has a really beautiful campus. I can be downtown in 10 or 15 minutes, yet living here is absolutely peaceful. You're in paradise. I am younger than most residents at The Shores but I didn't want to wait to move to a community like this! I'm retired. I deserve this! I want to enjoy every aspect of this fabulous place that I can, while I can. I'm in a community with retired people here, and that's what I am, too. Retired! My neighbors are so active: They kayak and fish and play pickleball. Fascinating people live here. They have become my family. It is a wonderful feeling to know that I have everything I need at The Shores. My every need is taken care of from my physical needs to maintenance on my apartment to social and fellowship events and to my meals. What more could I want! I also like the fact that I can travel without worries. Living here, I just close my door, and I have a feeling of security. I don't have to worry if my hot water heater is going to break, or if it snows, who will shovel the sidewalk in front of my house, or who's going to mow the lawn. It's wonderful!!!! Come and visit The Shores and you will love the experience!!!

Westminster Shores, a Continuing Care Retirement Community

We first heard about the concept of a Continuing Care Retirement Community like Westminster Shores from our neighbors. We used to talk about the fact that as people age they say that what accelerates the aging process is solitude and loneliness. So it's important from that point of view to be in a community where you have company, and plenty of activities. Once you go on your first visit, you're almost hooked! But we especially love living here. Here, we have a beautiful residence on the waterfront, spacious and lovely, fantastic kitchen. We enjoy having transportation to the symphony, so we don’t have to drive. We have the opportunity to play pickleball or kayak any time we want, too. Plus, we know that we’ll be taken care of for life — that’s the key reason to choose a CCRC. This was a big relief for our children, relieving them of the responsibility of caring for us as we got older. We also liked Westminster Communities of Florida is a not-for-profit, fiscally conservative and financially sound, and long-range plans for the future of our community.

The Perfect Place for Every Life Need

My husband (of almost 65 years) & I chose Westminster Winter Park Independent Living five years ago. It is everything we hoped to find, and more. So much more. Our lives are filled with huge choices of personal activities, very friendly & considerate residents & staff, & the knowledge that a five-star nursing facility/rehab is right here if & when we need it - all this is added to the extraordinary beauty of our surroundings. Our family is not only delighted that we're here, they can't wait to be old enough to move here, too! It is amazing. We have been well blessed to be part of WWP.
