I have a family member in the Assisted living here currently and the experience has been a very disappointing and frustrating one. While the aides and nurses themselves are kind to residents, we have been frustrated with the lack of communication with family when it comes to billing for services. Charges show up on the bill that we did not authorize. I'm told services occur that my family member said do not always happen. My family member has been unhappy with the food and is less active socially since we moved him to Proprietor's Green than he was at a previous facility. I love the location, but I have lost faith and trust in them overall.

Lovely looking from the outside, and at initial entering everything appears great! Beware of lots of miscommunication and unfriendly staff. Seniors are people too and should not be brushed off as if they won't remember the next day. There are a handful of staff that are truly amazing. When looking at different facilitys ,Bigger isn't always better, so please talk to the nurses and the aids because ultimately they are the ones who will be caring for your elder. Fancy isn't always better! If you ask most of the seniors they will tell you that.

. They were not helpful. She had a few falls. They never tried to coax her to go to eat with everyone and also never helped her with activities.

Having to look for an assisted living facility for a family member became somewhat of an emergency after the death in the family. We chose "closeness" to family rather than looking around and comparing the choices. This turned out to be a BIG MISTAKE! After they receive your $[removed] deposit, you feel "locked in". Please take my advice, shop around, visit other facilities, ask a lot of questions and then...don't trust what you are told. Go and visit often to see the day to day operation. There are BIG DIFFERENCES!

My aunt lived here for a while until we could move her out. It looks like management will now accept anyone who can pay the price, regardless of whether they are a good fit or not. Hence, we have unsanitary conditions with frequent urination in the dining hall and elevators. Some of the resident should be in the memory loss wing because they appear to be catatonic. The meals are not fresh food and Only a few of the activities actually take place. Rumors are [removed] management is going to sell this place soon so I wouldn’t move any more family members in.

The surprisingly positive reviews for providence house suggest a marketing time team doing their job quite well. I wish the same thing could be said for the level of care at this place. they seem to have downgraded their acceptance rate to include people with very telling alcohol and drug problems who tend to make the place feel unsafe. Overall, the places mediocre at best and at worst management is very unresponsive to resident needs. Promises of trips outside the facility are seldom fulfilled. The quality of nursing staff can be good but is not reliable and they seem to sign off on allowing just about anybody in who can pay the outrageous bill for mediocre service and very mediocre meals

The marketing team does a good job of making this place seem OK. But it’s not. The criteria for acceptance is dismal so as to make for an unsafe environment. Drinking and drug problems abound. They have severely lowered the quality of client population and will except almost anybody. It seems so long as you can pay the hefty$[removed] monthly note. Management has changed several times. They are largely unresponsive to resident needs. Things like advertised buddy programs for newcomers and so forth never materialized. This is assisted-living and not everyone needs it. Sincerely I do not recommend.

I’m deeply disappointed with the management at Providence House, particularly with [name removed], the RCD. Her leadership is driving the facility downhill, and her behavior is utterly unprofessional. [name removed] is extremely difficult to reach and only responds when I include other directors in emails. I've witnessed her screaming at the activities director in front of patients and visitors, which is unacceptable. Her rudeness is matched by her staff([names removed]) who seem to mirror her negative attitude. I’ve overheard her speaking poorly about other staff members and caught her and her team lying about my loved ones. Despite numerous complaints to other directors, no action has been taken, leading me to believe that [name removed] influence is so strong that no one dares to address her behavior. Disappointed with the care of our loved one. They do not “ assist” in just about everything your family member might need unless you pay additional fees. If you decide to put your loved one here, please make sure you check on their services are actually being done. A pro- active family is a must.
