The Director Al is knowledgable and friendly and very helpful with all the paperwork. He met my dad and thought he was a good fit for the Allerton House. The food is very good, it's healthy food and my dad is thrilled with the food. The staff is very friendly and the place is immaculate. He has a nice room and one morning when he missed breakfast the staff served him breakfast in his room. I would recommend the Allerton House, nothing we toured was as clean or as nice as their place. It's been a really good experience, on dad's move in day they fed me and my siblings lunch which was really nice. They are very accomodating.

The staff was very kind and attentive. More outdoor activities in the courtyard would have benefited my father greatly.

Everything was included. As my dad needed more help there was no extra charge. My dad had food allergies and the chef met with him personally and took his allergies seriously. When you rang the bell for help they came immediately. Even maintenance. The place was beautiful. You were not forgotten. The staff included everyone in activities. Patients were not ignored! The food tasted very good! There were outdoor spaces. Patients were encouraged to participate in activities. Some were held in the dining room right after a meal so everyone was already there. The memory unit was small so you got to know the other patients and often some of their family members.

I am thoroughly impressed with the Allerton House at Hingham. They always have fun activities, whether organized within the community or by bringing in vendors from outside, which truly gives the feel of a family and community. The Food Director is exceptionally active with the residents and family members, always open to feedback on what the residents like or wish to have more of. This level of engagement and care makes a significant difference in the residents' quality of life. Highly recommend!

The family's overall experience with Proprietor's Green was a positive one. I believe that the overall value for the cost was good. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and was always knowledgeable about my mother's specific needs. The one significant area for improvement was with the meals/dining. Early on in my mother's arrival, the staff paired my mother up with other residents that my mother did not get along with and it was addressed to the staff and nothing was done about it which made for an unpleasant stay. My mother often told me stories of instances where what she ordered for her meal was not provided. I also experienced this when I went to pick up a meal for her on one occasion because she wasn't feeling well. The meal that was provided to me was not what she ordered. Although I offered to go back to the dining room to make it right, my mother would just say, "Don't bother, I'm used to not getting what I order".

It was expensive, but my mother had a positive experience there. Toward end of life, my mother was often challenging. The staff had the ability to roll with that. A majority of the employees really had their heart in it. We very rarely ran into red tape. We always felt there was an open door policy for making things right.

Beautiful facility & apartment units, nice schedule of activities, friendly, responsive & helpful staff, friendly residents, primary dinner options (only meal offered to Independent Living residents) need upgrading/improvement, transportation offered is often booked 3 weeks out/need more drivers. Overall good, would recommend except would note food is ok & needs improvement.

Our family was very grateful for the time mom spent at Allerton House. Everyone was very friendly and caring, and the facilities were always kept nice and clean. It has a homey vibe, which I think helps people transition to their new surroundings. My mom was there through the pandemic, and that was very difficult. But Allerton was fantastic through it all. The first 20-22 months were superb when [name removed] was the nurse in charge of the Memory Care unit. Once she went elsewhere, her replacement I believe was out of her league and the care waned. She was very nice and tried, but it was just not the same. There was a lot of general staff turnover at that time as well. That being said, she was not there for long, and I hear there is a new nurse now and more Dementia-related activities. Overall, for the money, the facility is terrific. It's a wonderful organization.

Overall we are happy with our experience there. There have been several frequent staff turnovers which are likely related to the pandemic and exodus of healthcare and social services staff from the field. The facility is lovely and the activities are varied and good and the staff have been very kind.

My family said the employees were very good and patient with my mom and dementia.

This community was very nice and the tour experience was great.

I was impressed with the staff members during our stay here. I would recommend them for others who are looking.

The activities were cut back due to COVID, but before that they had music entertainment almost every day, they have a fitness center. We have a dining service every night. The rooms are very nice as well.

Truly a caring place where we can sleep at night knowing our family member is safe and happy!! The staff is wonderful and Mom has settled in and is smiling all the time. I would recommend Proprietors Green for your loved one.

Difficult to access our experience here in a Senior Living community. Thievery has and continues to be our experience. Other than that, we do recommend and enjoy the physical accompaniments. The apartments are lovely, sunny and can be darkened with shades, curtains, blinds or shutters (if so desired. Some have electric fireplaces. The Third floor has windows in the ceiling of the living/dining room that allows for the sun to brighten the 3rd floor living room. Unfortunately, there seems to be a few persons who have access to apartments with keys. We have had NO forced entry; but, never the less, have experienced un-welcomed theft. We are sure there are honest reliable people who do have keys, but there are always one or a few, whose intentions are not honorable. We do not feel safe here. Although there is a "guard" at night (probably for insurance purposes? ) there are no cameras in hallways or physical check points for the night "guard" (providing the guard clocks in at established recorded points to verify his or her's rounds - but doubt that even exists). Basically,the security for residents is non-existent. We have experienced jewelry, clothing, shoes and other thefts. We originally contributed such occurrences to "misplaced items", but "misplaced" items have never been found (or returned). Family heirloom locket gone, silver chain with egg shaped hanging filagree bauble gone and more....... So it is a mixed review. The residents are lovely, and are good neighbors, without being intrusive. The apartments are lovely - some have fire places run by electricity. But, Security is non-existent, even with a night guard - no cameras recording activity in hallways and don't know if guard has rounds and/or clocked-in check points ?

We are seriously considering here....

Very nice facility. Location is a bit out of the way for our needs.

Very appealing place with a true desire to understand and accommodate residents of all kinds. Great location near a Whole Foods and public transportation. A bit urban feeling (which may be just right for some people) when compared to other options with campuses and more greenery.

My sister in law is enjoying her time in this community. It is a great facility with kind people. All her needs are being met, and she has even made some new friends. I know she is safe, and in good hands. They have good staff, and they have been friendly, and kind. One of our concerns have been that when she needs supplies. It takes them a long time to order it. Also we were told they provided transportation, but when she needs it they are reluctant to provide it. Other than those issues, everything is working out pretty well for her since her move to this community.
