I toured!!

When we toured Providence House, we thought the tour guide was very friendly, they were able to answer any questions. The choice was left up to my father, he chose another community. There was something he did not like about this one, but I can not remember what that was.

Loved Ones are Well

My loved ones are doing pretty well since their move to this community. They have started to engage with some of the other residents. The meals are good, but they would like some bigger portions. They do a good job with the cleanliness of the community. Everyone has been very kind. This is a good community to live in, and I would recommend it,

Trying to transition!

Everything here seems pretty good. It is very clean as well. They offer a lot of things for dad to do. Dad just has not got into anything much yet. The food is okay as far as we know. Things will start to pick up once dad transitions.

Father's Care

We like this community. The staff are caring and the community is very clean. My father liked alot of the activities and normally he would not participate. He liked Bingo, music and they guest that come in sing and play alot of songs in the 50's where he joined in. They have weekly field trips that he really enjoys. He does like the food and the variety that is served. There have been a few times that the staff has not been available and he needs someone one on one attention from the staff. I would recommend this community for the care and value.

Very nice, but too big for us

Everything looked good during our tour, it was clean and nice looking, and the staff were friendly. It was a larger community than what we were wanting for my mother-in-law, we felt like she would do much better at a smaller, less busy community. This location was also not as conveniently located for our family.

Nice place, overall!

Overall we've had a good experience with Allerton House, they've done a good job taking care of my loved one. The facility itself is well kept and clean, and the staff have all been friendly and professional. They're able to provide some really excellent care here, and also offer a good variety of activities and events to keep the people who live here active and entertained.

Lovely, but added levels of care make it $$$$$

The good news: Wide range of activities, lovely private and public spaces, great dining. Daytime aides and dining staff are friendly, warm and helpful. The watch out: Pricing includes one hour of personal care per day (any bathing, dressing, transport within the building, bathroom assists, any other personal care). Any additional care must be hired as additional private pay in large blocks of time from an outside agency. Literature that cites added care @ $25/hr is misleading. Residents must hire that care for *minimum blocks of time* of several hours. "Overnight" care is billed in 12 hour blocks. This results in actual *additional* costs that can run $100 per day, $360 per day and up (per hour costs are more like $30/hr). You do not have the option to accumulate additional 15 minute increments during the day or evening and be billed for those at a $25/hr rate. Worth keeping in mind as you consider the pricing for your loved one's care.

Community On Top Of the Hill

I toured this community for my mother, and it went okay. I did not like the fact the community was on top of a hill. It would be hard to travel to because of that. Other than the hill it was a nice tour. The community looked nice. The staff was friendly and kind. It just wasn't the community for my mother and her needs.

newer

This was a newer community, more expensive. It’s for assisted living. The price is just higher than we were looking for. We only spoke with the sales folk. We went with a different community that was really more homey and cozy.

New and modern

The building was a little dated. We just looked around a little bit and it seemed overwhelming. This is a good community for a younger person. It’s a very big property. The hallways, everything seemed brand new and just big.

Did not have a good experience

The community itself was lovely, very clean, and brand new. We had them assess my loved one for assisted living care, and they took her in. Soon afterwards they said she needed memory care, and I was not impressed at all with their memory care facilities. It was quite expensive having to move her between communities like this so soon, and I was not happy that they so quickly switched her after assessing her to be acceptable for assisted living.

Try Somewhere Else

I didn't care for the food. There are quite a few people around the community that would use walkers to get around the community. There were other residents helping the residents using the walkers, instead of staff helping the residents down to the dining room. The staff didn't recognize what I said about assisting the residents down to the dining room. This disgusted me very much, since the staff didn't listen to me. The rent was too much. They would charge to do the laundry and they didn't explain the charges to me about what the do and don't do for the residents. I would not recommend the community to others. The staff didn't always understand English and it was hard to understand them due to their heavy accents. The community had two nurses; however, they don't do any type of treatments. If you wanted treatment you had to bring in your own nurse.

Not a place for mom

My mother went into Rivercourt after being assessed by them and after a week of residing here, they asked her to leave and be admitted for a psychiatric evaluation. They also asked us to hire a private nurse shortly after she moved in, which was in addition to her care charges. It was also very difficult to get a hold of the nursing director. After this, we moved her into a new community which has been a much better experience. We would not recommend this community to anyone.

Not what it seems

Village at Proprietors Green will accept anyone regardless of what they can and cannot do for themselves. It is all about the money and they will accept [removed] residents who may have dementia into an independent living apartment and soon move them to assisted living. They have residents that cannot walk independently and communication between management and staff is non-existent. It is not the place for anyone who is looking for senior living.

Poor care and communication

Very disappointed in the care of our loved one. They do not have good communication between their aides and nurses. Very disappointed in the fees they charge for “ assistance “ once your family member gets moved in. You definitely need to be involved in the care , or lack of, at this facility.
