My family moved my mother to Allerton House three years ago as she could no longer live safely on her own due to an Alzheimer's diagnosis. We chose Allerton House because in addition to being an assisted living facility, they also had a memory care unit which we knew she would likely have to transition to at some point. I had heard very good things from friends and family who had relatives at Allerton House in the past, and I was also very impressed with my interactions with the staff during the intake process. From day one, the care my mother has received at Allerton House has been outstanding! At all levels, from the concierges, the administration, the kitchen staff, the maintenance team, the activity directors, the nursing staff, nursing aides, etc., it is clearly evident that they take an active interest in the health and well-being of all the residents in the assisted living and the memory care units! We couldn’t be more grateful for the care my wife has received over the past five months at the Allerton House in Hingham. Driving up, it looks like a warm and inviting country inn set in the woods. From the beginning, the team listened closely to our concerns and even visited my wife in the hospital to ensure it would be a good fit. The unit’s small size-just 16 residents-means truly personal care. The high staff-to resident ratio and number of long-term caregivers provide comfort and continuity. My wife has her own room and bathroom, which we were able to furnish to feel like home. She had struggled with food before, but now she loves her meals. They activities are engaging, and the respect and compassion shown by the staff are evident every day. Choosing memory care is never easy, but we are truly thankful we chose this community.

We were fortunate to be introduced to Allerton. The caring attitude in the entire staff has made us feel very comfortable in choosing Allerton for our mother. We were very nervous in the placement because she was very nervous about going. The staff has bent over backwards to make her feel at home. We strongly recommend Allerton for your loved one.

Overall experience - Overall my experience with Providence House is very good. My meeting with [name removed] was very pleasant, informative and professional. She explained each step and helped get me through a ton of paperwork needed for Providence House and the State. She always responded in a timely manner whenever I had questions and offered suggestions when I had to buy furniture for [name removed]. Cleanliness of the facility - Clean and pleasantly inviting Friendliness - friendly from the front desk and anyone who thought I might be lost. Quality of care - [name removed] has dementia and isn’t always cooperative; but the staff informs me when she’s having a bad day and continues to be patient with her. Someone braids her hair and has painted her nails. I’ve noticed how sensitive the staff is to the needs of other residents even when faced with challenging situations. Administrative staff - Overall, the staff is responsive and professional. The business office person isn’t one of the most professional of all the staff; but he’s not interacting with the residents; so I’ve learned to overlook his lack of professionalism. It’s not worth reporting him; but he seems out of place compared to everyone else. Food - It doesn’t take much to please [name removed] as long as she has ketchup so the staff always puts ketchup on her food. Activities - [name removed] doesn’t always participate but the other residents seem to enjoy the activities. Value for the money - It’s very expensive but [name removed] needs to be there

Staff is vey kind & caring. Activities director is wonderful! The nurses are amazing ! I know my mom sometimes needs a bit of extra direction. The staff have been very attentive & have gone above& beyond. Food is pretty good - I wish it was more geared towards cognitive support.

Not too big or small; many many choices each day for meals; they have a wonderful free car service; there is a heated indoor pool open every day. There are quite a few physical exercise classes, as well as lectures and movies - all free. They have a great library. They also bring in live entertainment and trips to shows in Boston and the South Shore. Staff and residents make a big effort to welcome new residents. It’s enormously helpful. Situated not far from the beach also on lovely landscaped surroundings.

I moved my mother to Allerton House Hingham last June from another assisted living facility. While change is always difficult for my mom, I couldn't be more relieved that I moved her. From every component of the staff, I have experienced warmth, caring and compassion towards my mom and our family. There is always something creative and fun going on and they have worked hard to make sure my mom is involved by drawing her out of her room. Very thoughtful people at every level and a beautiful, peaceful and warm living space. Thank you for all of your superb care Allerton!

I can’t say enough great things about Allerton in Hingham. My mom moved in after my father passed away almost 2 yrs ago and it was the best decision we could have possibly made. We didn’t realize the severe memory issues my mom was facing while we were busy taking care of my dad, but it became clear quickly she needed to be in a place where there were people looking out for her while providing her with as much independence as was safe for her. She is a very active 84yr old and values feeling in control. The entire staff at Allerton is so skilled in providing that for her. Everyone including the nurses, activities staff, kitchen staff, transportation director, and administration got to know her so quickly which made the transition from living in her house to assisted living go so smoothly. I consider everyone there family and feel so supported-I never hesitate to ask for help or advice in navigating my mom’s new situation. It is such a beautiful place-I can’t recommend Allerton enough!

I can't say enough good things about Allerton House. I moved my 85-year-old mother from Portland, OR to Allerton House Hingham in August. She didn't know a single person, but the staff at AH made her feel right at home immediately. All the staff at AH is amazing, but I want to give a special acknowledgment to [name removed], the incredible activities coordinator, and to [name removed], the wonderful chef, who comes up with creative ways to work around Mom's gluten intolerance. Most of all, Mom really enjoys the array of outings and activities on offer. She started participating in everything and anything right away and particularly loves the weekly lunches out at local restaurants. She has now made several friends and looks forward to chatting with everyone in the afternoons at the pub. Also, the decor at AH is very lovely, and they go all out to decorate for the various holidays. It truly has become Mom's home, and I can tell she enjoys living there. We were very lucky to find Allerton House!

Beautiful building amazing staff and residents! I have been here for 6 months and this has been my favorite job to date! I feel so welcomed everyday I work here and I feel like I am part of a big family.

I have been in healthcare for 30 years and recently became the Program Director for Synchrony Rehab located inside of Allerton House Hingham. I can sincerely say that I have never seen a building whose entire staff, honestly every single department, that is so dedicated to the resident's happiness and well-being. I also love that this building has ALF, ILF and a Memory Care unit. To have those options under one roof in addition to PT, OT and Speech services is exceptional. I would highly recommend Allerton House Hingham to anyone who is looking for a new, next level living situation for their loved one. The level of compassion, caring and dedication of all staff members is unparalleled.

My friend recently moved in to Allerton House. I am so impressed with the level of care. The PT, and the OT have improved my friends quality of life. She loves meal time and socializing with her table mates. Everyone is refined and welcoming. They know the residence names and treat them with respect and dignity. Have many social activities for the independent living residents. Very clean and well maintained living areas. Overall a pleasant experience for both the family and the resident. Being away from him and knowing that he is well taken care of is a comfort to me. The facility is clean and well maintained. There are many common gathering areas and all are very appealing, tastefully decorated, and comfortable - and some even have cozy fireplaces. It's a beautiful place. The one bedroom apartment is spacious, comfortable and has a kitchenette with small rectangular fridge with freezer, a microwave, sink, 2 double door cabinets and one wide single door cabinet - all with double shelf space, plus 3 drawers. His kitchenette also has a 2 burner stovetop (which is turned off for assisted living residents). Apartment has 2 roomy closets - one near front door and one in bedroom. Bathroom is large with lots of storage under the sink plus a large medicine cabinet in wall plus an open linen closet/storage area with 4 deep shelves. Has heat and a/c. Only drawback about the room is it requires a key for entry which can be cumbersome and sometimes difficult for a 95 year old. The swipe hotel-like plastic cards would be way better for the aged. The food is really good and the dining room staff seem very accommodating. The dining room director is wonderful. I am in constant contact with the 6 daytime nurses and the are also really wonderful, caring, concerned, understanding and so generous with their time during consultations. My Dad enjoys the music programs but he hasn't ventured into any of the other activities yet, so I can't rate that department. Allerton in Weymouth does offer a full schedule of activities but a lot of them do seem to be geared towards women's interests. Allerton does offer an app service called Famileo which I have just begun and am very excited about. Family members can submit news, stories, messages and photos online via the app or the website. Famileo compiles and transforms the digital posts into a full color personalized newspaper that gets printed and delivered to the resident once a week. Such a great way to keep him in touch & entertained and to keep the whole family connected. (Hope it works!) I feel we made the best decision choosing Allerton House in Weymouth and that we couldn't have chosen a better place for my father's needs at this time. And I thank all of you for all your help in this difficult process.

It has everything I was looking for and the staff was welcoming. The total number of residents was just the right size. The attitude of everyone was/is definitely centered around the residents. Also, it's run like a co-op, so the residents have a say in how the place is run. The activities are not ordinary, they offer lectures, museum trips in Boston and down on Cape Cod.

I am so Happy that we found Providence House. The Sales and Marketing Director was so welcoming and informative of all they have to offer. She takes her time to answer all your questions and goes above and beyond to help in any way. Her compassion really shows through her work and everyday affairs. Everyone is so nice and it makes it feel like a Home not a facility. My mother loves it there. We cannot say enough good things about the staff and residence. Very grateful to call it home for our mother.

I would definitely recommend to others. Now that my mother has been living at this facility for a few months, I can see that wverything that was discussed with the sales team has been as stated. They don't just say things to get your business, they back it up with their performance.I believed this community to be one that is thriving and the monthly fees were a good value for the services provided.

The culture there is inclusive and fun. My mother is participating in many activities as they offer many choices. She has a friends to talk to and she is being well cared for. We picked this community because of the location, pricing model is month to month and overall impression.

The people at Allerton House Weymouth are all professional, lovely and helpful. They check in with my mother consistently, they help her with every need. The facilities are beautiful and peaceful. I feel totally comfortable leaving my mom in their hands. This facility is smaller and more engaging than some of the larger facilities that we toured. I would recommend Allerton House Weymouth to family and friends.
