I'm in Independent Living. They have been going through some changes. Sometimes, it seems that every one is not on the same page. When I ask what I consider a General question about Policy or general rules, not one person has the answer. They either don't know the answer at all or are not sure. They say that you/I will need to consult with [name removed]). Then, I ask where/how to locate that person. The answer may be fairly random..... it's not like they have a # phone I can call. Same with contacting Maintenance. Generally, contact with maintenance is through leaving a message with one person and then she sends them a message. I have no complaints with this person, it seems like sometimes, she is the main "go through" for a lot of "Stuff". She is not privy to the "Answers", just can suggest which person to ask, or in some cases, she is the person who has to notify the department (maintenance), that you are requesting their assistance. She is Great and has a very good attitude/personality towards everyone, that I can tell. COMMUNICATION on several levels could Be Improved. Great neighbors, friendly staff, of the ones that I have met, lovely, more rural area setting, which is one of the main reasons I chose to live here. Yet, still close to Pharmacy grocery, etc.

All of these type facilities are understaffed. There is no reason for facilities to "run out" of items frequently. When staff is low and you're running out of things frequently the cost should reflect that but unfortunately they all do it so nothing ever happens...

Always quick to add level of care without any change! More money no change in service! Moved her furniture around and she has had no phone service for over two weeks! Cost more but less service! Level 3 care now nursing home next which would probably be better!

Carnegie Village was a very beautiful and clean faculty but not a lot of activities for memory care. Also, the family had to stay on top of any doctor appointment and medication. Not veteran friendly.

I'm glad my dad can afford it, but it is super expensive. I know there are more expensive places though. Just to always advocate for your friend or loved one. Sometimes you need to stay on top of the response times when they hit their call buttons. Or call in yourself to alert staff that they are needed. My Dad is unable to get out of his bed or chair on his own. So when he needs to use the bathroom, there are times when they tell him they are too busy. This is when I call and start asking questions ie are they short handed today or is this a normal staff amount. Etc etc. the problem usually fixes itself for a bit, then I have to start asking again. The people that live there so far have been the same people for the past year. So in the Assisted Living side, I'm not seeing a ton of turnover resident wise.

Maintenance personal is rude and has argued with me on the placement of TV and let his self in to my apartment on different times when I was one when sleeping employees just knock once on door and than let there self in .A lot of chicken thighs, by thighs and legs served, rice , sandwiches due to lack of kitchen staff. I have been seeing a lot of people moving out to other active living places

The fact that my mother would have her own place once we did the spend down and switched her over to Medicaid. I would recommend to others.

We chose Tiffany Springs based on others' recommendations. However things changed. Examples: What I call "the culture" was definitely different,; medical staff refused to follow eye doctor's instructions; one CNA ignored call button-said she knew what my husband wanted and that he would later change his mind (she was busy making artificial flower arrangements! ). Director of Nursing said my husband needed too much care and would probably put him out (I beat him to it). Need I go on? I have more if you need them. Food was very very good I must say.

Wet good experience with the sales marketing lady [name removed]. She’s wonderful. Place is nice and staff is awesome but it’s more nursing care than other assisted living and because of that kind of expensive for not having much to do.

My Mother moved into Fox Ridge about 3 months ago. I feel we were misled about transportation to physician appointments. My Mother has macular degeneration and can no longer drive. We were told transportation would not be an issue. That is not the case. Fox Ridge relies on public transportation for appointments. Fortunately, I have been able to take off work to take her to appointments, but we were led to believe that transportation would be provided. (Fox Ridge has their own busses/vans, so I don't understand why public transportation is used.) The food is awful, and the director of food service is a jerk. Mom pays [fee removed] per month to live there, and definitely does not get her money's worth. If we had to do it over again, I'm not sure we would choose Fox Ridge. Also, management does not make themselves visible/readily available to residents, which I think is a real shame.

Our Aunt had suffered several falls at the facility She finally broke her hip after a fall and passed away. The hospice care she received there was very good. The regular staff seemed patient with her but we felt like it might have been understaffed for the type of patients on her hall. The activities coordinators were very sweet and the kitchen staff were very accommodating.

My grandma lived here for 6 yrs. She passed away and a few of the residents wanted to pay their respects. The showing was day hours and a short 10 min drive. I contacted the DON and the Activity Director but received no follow up. Five Star didn’t care enough to allow them to pay condolences and didn't offer transportation. I was told by the DON, “If we do it for you, we would have to do it for other residents.” I've been an RN for 16 yrs and will continue to be an advocate. There are consistent problems including the activity director acting unkind and unprofessional. The next ED will be the 5th one in 6 yrs. Ask family members who reside here before deciding to place your loved one. My grandma was a retired RN taking care of patients for half of her life. I know my grandma, and the other parents/grandparents, deserve better. Corporate, regional, and AlerisLife, what if it was YOUR family? Your slogan is "never stop advancing." Maybe start with "just improve and provide better care."

I like my senior living apartment. I have made an awesome plant area in my sun room. I have just gotten my first sun sweet cherry tomato of the summer. I like my front porch a the ability to have a place to enjoy the sun and beautiful weather. Great place to recover from my surgeries and live my life all on one level.

My dad had a good experience at Pinicon Senior Living - until he didn't. We were very happy with the care that he received there, but after being sent to the hospital, Pinicon would not allow him to return. I understand that each facility is licensed and staffed for different levels of care, but I was very disappointed in how this all transpired. We had to hear from the social worker at the hospital, not from anyone at Pinicon directly, that they were unwilling to take him back. We were not made aware in advance of his hospitalization that there were any concerns with the level of care that he was requiring. We were told when we placed him there that most patients were able to stay through end of life, even during Hospice, and that they were licensed for 2-person assist and staff was trained on (and had available) a variety of lifts. In the end, this appeared not to be the case. I felt like there was some "bait and switch" that occurred between our initial discussions/intake and the reality of the level of care that they were willing to provide. My dad was happy there, but we were so disappointed in how it ended.

The aides are not responsive when the resident hits the button. The Kitchen Staff treat the resident disrespectful. Push them to hurry and get out of dining hall push them to choose food they don't want to eat when they order. Food choices are terrible residents make fun of the food and don't eat it.

I really do not have much bad to say except if my parents need assistance in one form or another the time to respond is way too long. The staff is friendly and my parents seem to be relatively happy . You need more staff like most all facilities

There's alot of activities to do here.we are always busy. I enjoy getting my nails done. I enjoy going on vacation with my family. I enjoy bingo, hand and foot, having a good place to walk, and we have a good maintenance department, and good housekeeping ladies.

Park Place seems to be a good place for older people, most of the residents are in their 80s and 90s. It says it's an all inclusive place, but it's not. You have to pay for your lunch. The cooks are okay, but definitely not chefs. The staff in the kitchen are the best, most friendly and try to accommodate the best they can. The facility is okay, just not the right fit for me.

My mother moved in less than 3 months ago and was hit with an $[removed] rent increase! The letter informing her of this has an illegable signature and a typed word, "Administrator". This is extremely unprofessional. Much of the staff is new and very young in their first "real job". It feels like a lot of them are working blind and being manipulated by unseen higher ups that want more money. Maintenance staff are told not to talk to residents, but problems with HVAC, poor water pressure, non working outlets and cable outlets without covers remain. Washing machines were installed incorrectly. Food is so so. I'm truly sad for my mom and fear that contracts are month to month and another rent increase could come at any time.

My loved one was previously a resident at Norterre and her overall experience at this facility was okay. Though some of the staff had no understanding of dementia and they offered very few activities.
