I am totally impressed.

We are very pleased with them. They are very caring and have a lot of staff that are very helpful and I am there at all times of the day. She has really settled in very nicely. I am totally impressed. They try to befriend the residents and help them to interact appropriately with each other, and just observe. I've seen a good variety of food. Everyone else gets specialized care for the diets, for diabetics, or soft food or whatever they need, and they have someone to watch and make sure that they get the right kind of meal. They have four people to a table so it's not overwhelming, with cloth tablecloths. They really put thought into everything. Everything is accessible for the residents, and when they move in they do shadowboxes of the things the residents like and show their personality a little bit. They don't seem to overcharge you, but you do have to provide your own toileting supplies. They have huge t.v.'s, good security and a nice safe place to sit outside. It's a very good place!

They did a really good job. I thought they were very personable.

They did a really good job. I thought they were very personable. The people were friendly and it was very clean. They did a wonderful job, for respite. The only reason we didn't go with them for long term is that they were a little more expensive.

Great place/warm and friendly

Brought my mom there for a tour last week. She fell and was in rehab for a couple of weeks. She is in her late 80s and she and I both realized she can't live alone anymore. Came in on a weekend day and Chris who is the marketing person there was really nice. He took a lot of time and really seemed to care. Gave us some great advice and really walked us through everything. My mom moved in and so far everything has been great. She is even starting to make some friends.

mom is happy and comfortable

The Wentworth of Las Vegas is a very good place. I am very happy and comfortable with having my mother there. I can't really think of much they could do to improve as they are doing an excellent job.

Valencia at the Lakes

The company here recently took over, so they’re definitely going through the usual growing pains and reworking a lot of things. That said, the prices are much better than other places, and they’re clearly putting real effort into upgrading the property. They’re renovating everything little by little — new floors, paint, appliances, blinds, and the units are bigger, sunnier, and the AC units work great. If you move in now, your apartment will already have been painted and upgraded, since the units themselves seem to be their first priority. The common areas are being updated gradually after that. The food has improved too. The menu is still growing, but what they have so far has been better than expected. Staff is decent overall, and they’re still adding more employees as they continue expanding. The company has several buildings in Utah and is Mormon-owned, though you honestly wouldn’t know it except that they’re very service-oriented. This is apparently their flagship property in Nevada. For me personally, I got a larger apartment here and I’m saving over $650 a month compared to my previous place. My cats are happier too because there’s a lot more sunlight and bigger windows for them to sleep in. One thing to know is the building is one large rectangle layout, so the hallways have a bit of a casino-hotel feel instead of the typical left-right apartment hallway setup. Overall, there are still some rough edges while renovations continue, but the value for the money is excellent and you can tell management is trying hard to improve the place.

Good, competent care. Attendants are friendly and courteous. Environment is pleasant..Sometimes, response is slow when [name removed] rings for help going o the bathroom .Food is quite good. Medications are usually administered on time. Cost is reasonable

Perfect for our needs. Friendly Staff.

Overall satisfied, rooms clean. Diaper clean. Staff helpful. But there is very little fufu or pizzazz. Keep in mind. It is [amount removed] less expensive than his previous situation... Don't let the place fool you. At first it looks a little dim (lighting low). A bright place will be more sympathetic and seem happier. However it definitely suits the purpose for what it needs to be. So far I am extremely satisfied. My dad found a new friend within 2 weeks, and he seems happy all around.

We toured with Escalante at the Lake and it was a very nice facility. They had just undergone some renovations and it looked great. They had walk aways to different apartments and such. It just was a little too far away.

All of the personnel that we interacted with on our tour were very very nice and helpful. When we walked into the facility our eyes and noses were burning from the strong smell of cleaning products. It was a very nice tour and place but that smell just threw us off from the get go.

A Relief

I've had limited interactions with the staff, but some of the staff are extremely helpful. In particular - [name removed], one of the caregivers; [name removed], who assisted us during move in & was the most hands on; and [name removed], the health director - have all been very helpful! Another lady named [name removed] was also very helpful. I'm unsure if she's still there, but she's the one who gave us our virtual tour. One thing we've noticed is the wandering of other residents into my moms room, I'm unsure if that's common in memory care. My sister, who has more contact with the community, wanted to know if their doors could be closed. I guess maybe that's just the nature of the residents? My sister also recently mentioned that when my mom was having her meal, she had a half slice of bread instead of a whole slice. I know that's small, but small things can lead to big things. Overall I would recommend this community to others.

It's Been a Nice Community for My Loved One

So far it has been an okay experience, it isn't quite what I expected. We are still trying to settle in and hoping this will be a good place for my loved one. The communication with management and the family could be improved. The follow through by the staff needs to be more proactive and responsive to the needs of the family for paperwork requirements. The direct care staff are great to work with. They are caring, sweet, and kind to the residents. The room, changing of linens, housekeeping, three meals a day, utilities, basic cable are included in the monthly rate. Medication management and bathing assistance is some of the care that my loved one is receiving from the community. The food is enjoyed by my loved one. There are activities for the residents to choose from.

Our experience

Overall we have been pleased with Escalante at Draper. It is open, clean, bright, and most staff are friendly. The value for what you get here is great compared to other places that we were looking into. Communication is their biggest downfall and what they could use the most improvement on. Also the access to get in and out of the facility after 7PM as well is very difficult. They just got bought out, so we are hoping for some improvements. Overall it has been a good fit for my mom.

Change the way that feeding is done

I would recommend to find other options than this community. In the memory care they don't have real plates and feed them from to go meal boxes. They don't pay enough attention to them and there is no system to call for help if they are not in the room or right by the bed.

I thought Wentworth of Las Vegas was a nice place. They just didn’t have any kind of deck for each room, and my loved one really wanted some kind of personal outdoor space.
