Tour went fine. I prefer an apt setting. All units are studio style with common shower in hall.

A quality place but the location is poor. It fronts on a county road and I don't feel it would be safe for someone with memory issues.

Nice facility; Director was informative and friendly. The residents were fairly friendly. The apts were adequate but not as well designed as others I have seen.

Looks like they would provide services needed.

The atmosphere and environment of this facility is very good. The facility looks neat, orderly, somewhat cheerful, and smells fine. This is not a locked facility and that concerns me a little. I was told that the entrances are monitored and any time the doors are opened, a staff would receive a pager vibration that would alert them to it. When we first walked in, I didn't see anyone come to the front door to investigate. I wonder if Mom needs a more secure facility than this one.

Completed tour. Apt. style/size ok. Disappointed with only one package rate, not customized rates I am professionally use to. Base rate 3,900; which is greater that what I expect to pay for low level of care needs; basically medication setup/mgmt, congregate dining, assistance/supervision w/bathing and hmkg.

Okay...but not sure about the 2 person transfer problem. Might work.

Very nice for someone who needs lots of assistance. All people looked frail and needed walking assistance.Assisted living one set price, no matter how much care is needed.

When independent and needing only a little bit of care, it was a good place. The food was good. The staff were there when my loved one needed them. After a transfer to the hospital, she returned and was placed on hospice care. And in my opinion, Riverview could not handle the increased level of care. And I had to transfer her to another facility. It was horrible. I really liked the people I dealt with there, but they just couldn't handle her needs after that hospitalization.

My father lived here for about a year, from 2014 -2015. The staff overall was nice, the management was good, when not overwhelmed with elevators breaking down, and gas leaks that resulted in no hot water to the rooms for several days. And the elevator KEPT breaking down. This facility was built to be a hotel, and it was just that for many years. Improvements have been made but it still has a HOTEL LAYOUT. There is NO getting around the spaces that residents can get stuck in, hallways, alcoves, stairs. And there is not enough staff to deal with this. How can staff provide good care when the building is a deterrent? Hotels are designed to give folks privacy, assisted living sites should be designed in a way that staff have a easier time of keeping eyes out for disoriented or confused or lonely residents. If your parent, like my father, has dementia or develops dementia, even if Santa Maria Terrace continues to have a dementia waiver, you should look elsewhere. In fact, have a plan B for this. My father chose Santa Maria Terrace to save money and he did, but his quality of life would have been better in a community designed to work for residents and staff. The activities were few and far between but that could have changed.

The only thing I really liked about the facility was the Marketing director and activities director. With everything else, I was not impressed at all. The rooms did not have central air. If you wanted to have air conditioning you would have to ask maintenance to put in a window AC. There was water damage on the roof and it was not in the greatest shape. It seemed like all of the minor details of upkeep were [Removed]. Also, in your room you only have a half bath. For the showers, you would have to go to the community showers which were not the cleanest. If you want your own bathroom, I would not recommend this facility.

This facility is in my rating fair. I don't believe the services compare to what they sell you on when you first come for your introductory visit. I have paid extra for the assistance to help my mother dress and other needed task she may need. My mother always complains she's not getting her needed assistance due to shortage of care workers. I have come by different times and found her room messy, and her not fully dressed for the day. Doesn't seem fair the client has to contend with facility shortage of staff.

Rehab therapy staff were excellent (PT, OT and Rec Therapy)! Nursing, not so much. Some were exceptional, but had problems with pain management controlled by day shift nursing staff. Prescribed pain meds were withheld despite need. I received only tylenol for post op pain during the day despite working very hard in therapy, which resulted in severe pain at night. I cried at least three times in severe pain which affected my sleep, and was told I should have requested my prn meds (though I was unaware of which meds were prn). Also no wound checks by any nursing staff for 12 of a 14 day stay.

Great staff but not enough, short staffed Not healthy food choices, too much processed foods and not enough for residents, Not all food groups for all meals. Promises outside activities such as bus trips, never seen it. If your loved one has dementia they do little to no interaction.

Pleasant but rather sparse looking. Traditional furnishings, no carpeting in common areas. Very small 1 bedroom not feasible for a couple. Limited activities available for independent residents.

The staff is friendly. But the service and the food is not so good. There is a new chef. But when I ask for a drink or husband asks for ice cream, we never get it. I need to put on weight but they have been giving me the small portion meals, not regular portion. I haven't been able to do the activities yet.

The food the serve to these people is way too 'fancy' And it seems like they serve broccoli veggie mix all the time. The person I have there is a picky eater and they say they offer something alternative. The alternative is a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. They never have any cold meat such as ham or turkey to make a sandwich. Staff members are constantly complaining about how busy they are and under staffed. They complain to the person I have there so she feels like she cannot ask them to do anything for her, as they will get mad. I've sat in dining room while food is being served and aids sit at table with residences and are on their cell phones texting instead of helping residences or even talking to them. Went one time later at night and could not find any worker. Finally found two and they were both outside, one was smoking and one was on her phone texting. Overall I'm not very satisfied but feel like making a move somewhere else might result in same issues.
