Regarding post on CNS's There are NO CNA's in assisted living. They may tell you they are "aides". They are NOT CNA aides. The state of Idaho does not require assisted living to hire CNA aides. Too bad. There is a problem with attitude, integrity, knowledge of these "aides". I have been very disappointed in my encounters with most of this staff.

My gradmother wanted to live in Karcher Estates when it was time. It was the highest rated assisted living businesses in Canyon County, so we thought things were going to be good. Things went fine until management changed, the staff changed, and her personal items (including jewelry- rings and necklaces) started to go missing. Our family has been very upset about her personal items, especially how it impacts a persons dignity at that age. They probably should be investigated, although we feel powerless.

The assisted living CNA staff are very caring and friendly. I never worried that my family member would be harmed or neglected. However they lack the appropriate training and supervision to safely care for residents with memory issues. It is a large assisted facilities with 3 CNA on duty in the evening hours. They have to rely on residents using the call button for assistance - this will not work with residents with short-term memory loss and falls are common as a result. I also have concerns with their lack of training in regards to how medication is administered to residents with memory issues - no instruction to remind the resident each time, and prescribed schedules of when to administered are not followed closely and can be missed altogether. The unit manager talks a good story when she is looking to make a placement into the facility but once the deal is closed, you feel it was more a sales pitch than a commitment. If you are looking for a comfortable place for your loved one to live and they do not need considerable oversight and care, then this might be a place for them (the CNAs really are friendly and caring.) If they have health issues or are prone to falls, I'd encourage you to keep searching.

PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS FACILITY!!!! My mom was a resident there when it was doing business as a Living Court assisted-living facility, she’s lived there for four years until she was kicked out on [date removed]. We got a phone call Wednesday that my mom needed to be seen at the ER to make sure she didn’t have a urinary tract infection due to her memory getting worse and she wandered off the property. The Executive Director [name removed] informed us that she would not be able to stay there unless she had someone there to be with her 24 hours a day at our expense. When we informed her there was no money for that type of care the facility handed me her meds and told her she was not allowed back and I had to take her with me. To be honest, this was her third time wandering off the property. She was evicted without a 30-day notice. She was entitled to a three-day notice of eviction so the family and the facility could put together a care to make sure she was safe.,

The food 7 days a week is horrible. I go to visit a family member in the morning. Can't find 1 staff member. They are getting residents out of bed and they are soaked from head to toe in urine and feces. The person in charge of handing out meds is late and had to be woken up from home to come out and pass medications to residents. The new nurse, [name removed], can not be reached by phone. Please don't put anyone you care about here.

Worse experience due to mismanagement & staffing. Moved my mom out in less than 3 months there due to fear of her dying in that awful place. Note: after we moved her out, we understand it’s under new management so maybe it’s better. But no way are we placing her back there.

Barely two staff members on at a time. No transportation, salon or art. 90% of what they list they do NOT offer. They state they do but don’t have people to facilitate. The food is god awful. Please make sure you ask a lot of questions before placing a loved one here!

My loved one was previously a resident at Karcher Estates and she didn't like it there. She found the staff to be quite mean. She said she was getting scolded quite often and that they were resistant to provide actual assistance. She is now in a different facility and is as happy as a clam.

If we could give the 1 ratings a 0 we would. Why 0? Because 1 is too kind. They took [amount removed]. of dad's money who was only there 18 days. He contracted covid while there and then they put him in the psych ward. He died 6 weeks later. Not a good experience at all. It really came down to their total lack of communication. I hope they changed director and the head nurse. Otherwise, the rest of the staff were kind and it was very clean.

They were over priced the plan of care was not followed and they were over charged in my opinion. It was not clean they did not vacuum or dust. They packed dirty linen in the hamper prior to move out. They over ordered insulin enough for a year. In person they were friendly. They They served burnt sandwiches to my 94 year old father. The fruit was not fresh or ripe. It was Covid there were no activities.

I'm understanding the following: My family didn't have the best experience with Autumn Wind caring for our loved ones. The care services could use some improvement. We did enjoy a couple staff members and felt they were a true blessing. Thank you [name removed] and [name removed]. The food was bland and unappetizing, and my loved ones didn't enjoy the meals. The community could improve the communication with the family. We had calls to the nurses that weren't returned, lots of unanswered questions. Yes an then some. For the money they charge monthly it's very expensive. And every thing they do is an add on

Our relative passed away while living at NBMC. As required we paid every month in advance. They will not refund our money for the part of the month our relative was no longer there. I consider this theft of our money. Management has quit and been replaced, which tells me something is going on here. Prices were also raised. I would go somewhere else with better management that doesn’t steal your money.

All they care about it is the $$$$. Food was bad, "care" was definitely less than, bedsores in less than 30 days of being there, and trying to deal with admin or billing is a joke. A couple of the nurses were friendly but that was the only good thing we could say about this place.

I’m not there. This is online. Where are photos of actual rooms. From studio, one bedroom? If prestige can’t show individual rooms, what is the matter with them?

Residents are mostly separated, isolated and given the least care possible. It’s not Assisted Living, it’s Control. Even Covid negative patients cannot have a normal life outside their room…and they’ve been vaccinated! Shameful and crooked.

The community is neat and clean but overall the staff made you feel like you were an inconvenience. The food was not the best and not nutritionally balanced. I would not recommend this community

1 star is generous but didn’t have a choice. Horrible place for any human being to ever be at. Continuity of care is non existent. Nurses and CNAs treat the residents horribly. They do not provide medical equipment to residents like they are supposed to. Management is a joke, all they care about is money. If you’re in the healthcare field and your family member is there they will try to kick them out to cover up the wrong they are doing. The building doesn’t provide enough supplies for CNAs to properly take care of the residents. A CNA was put in the social worker position with no license and telling everyone she is the social worker. She is not licensed at all and has no idea what she is talking about when she calls family members on the phone. This place needs to be shut down.

If you are looking for caring people to be around your loved one this is a good place they will look after them. But that is as far as it goes. Your loved one will no longer see any sunshine, will not be hugged or loved on oh, because they have to go by strict rules of the coronavirus. if you think that they are doing anything to rehabilitate your loved one's memory so that they may go home, it's not going to happen here. To put it bluntly your loved one will walk in and they will come out in a body bag. That is what the truth is and I was told by a staff member that's pretty much how it runs. They do nothing to improve their diet to support brain function, they don't play memory games, most of them lay in their beds all day and watch TV. They get fed three meals a day and everyone eats the same thing. They don't see the sun, which is very important. Do you know why Alaska has the greatest write rate of suicide? It's because there is no light. What do you think is happening to be seniors. It disgusts me if you ask me. They're charging most people about five grand a month to have their Elder in there and they can't even afford to buy a second phone. They have one phone for all those patients. Where is all the money going? If you can take care of your loved one at home or do something different, I would. unless you want your elderly person's demise to be going out in a body bag

No continuity of care. The patient did not receive medication needed throughout the weekend because arrangements were not made and nobody bothered to talk to the physician. Doctor appointments had to be rescheduled because transportation was ignored. The excuse was the person in charge was new and patient just had to deal with it. The patient couldn't sit because of the injury, the transportation ordered was a wheel-chair transport. I really hope this place isn't around if I ever need care.

my review is based on communication with an individual who identified themselves as management. Unfortunately, in trying to gather information on my parent's status while using my pleasant professional skills when speaking on the phone to management (nurse) w regard to updates and determining regular contact w my father I was met (via a phone call) with a curt and at best semi-professional member of management who literally would did offer any help. I had to pull information from her. In stating my own professional title and sharing with her trying to collaborate a plan so that I could communicate with my father (seeing that I'm not living in the same state) I was completely offset and completely unimpressed with her especially based on the position she holds...I wishing her a credentials. There was no indication that she wanted to be of help, there was no indication that she was even listening to me as I had to repeat myself and certainly there was no compassion, empathy or professional attitude involved if she is acting in the role of nurse / social worker. She needs to go back and polish those skills up! She was completely biased and unhelpful. However, the staff underneath her were pleasant, professional and a joy to talk with. I PRAY she is NOT the standard.
