Our Mom has been in Homewood Heights for nine months and my biggest complaint is getting her back into the facility after 5:00pm. I understand that they cannot have someone at the desk all the time but when you use the lobby phone to let them know you are in the lobby - and NO ONE answers the phone there may be an issue. Someone is suppose to carry a phone and based on the results I see this as a huge problem. Twice I had to take my Mom to her apartment in the dark requiring her to walk on uneven ground! Another time, my husband had to rattle the doors to get someone's attention. We are not the only visitors encountering this problem. Although I have shared this concern with staff members nothing is improving.

During the pandemic, this is not a pleasant place to be right. I would not recommend this community right now.

The community in the area are on lockdown, we are not clear on whether everything we are paying for is being done. I would definitely recommend this community to others. My mom felt like she didn't get an orientation or a welcome.

I toured this facility while looking for a place for my Mother. It was very nice here and seemed really fancy. The marketing director who gave us the tour was friendly and was very knowledgeable. All of the residents I saw seemed to be really happy. I unfortunately wasn’t told the price until the end and it was out of our budget. I would recommend this facility to other families but you need to be away that it is more expensive.

We toured this community for the care of my father. We did not like the community and suggest they make some small improvements on the community being clean. The staff was nice and caring. Families should consider a tour before making a decision.

For the $6000 we are paying, my loved one is not getting enough care. They do no give her the medications on time. My loved one finds herself haveing to get up to go to the restroom by herself. Also, the staff and nurses she says are kind of snotty.

They could improve on their food. They serve an awful lot of carbohydrates; bread and potatoes and pasta and they could serve more fresh fruit. Sometimes what they have on their menu is not what the residents get, but they meet all the basic needs.

It's assisted living but I didn't care for the fact that she would have to use an elevator and she gets off an elevator and she forgets where she's going, but mostly, although they're nice rooms, if you want to visit with someone in the common area, there isn't one. If you want to sit in the lobby areas, there isn't much there, they have one chair on each side of the elevator and in a little alcove there's some seats but I really didn't think she would like that one very well.

I think they're short on help, she was there for rehab and it was ok. I think it was a big facility and I think we went there a lot so they took better care of her. The people weren't as friendly or seemed to care as much. I'm very familiar with physical therapy and occupational therapy and I don't think what they were doign with pt was as much as they could have been, she was jsut sitting on a bicycle and walking up and down the hallways. We have more for therapy in my school than they have here.

Lived here three months, did not need assisted living. Dining room too noisy from dishes banged againts garbage in d.r.

It is a nice, bright and cheery, clean facility and everyone I dealt with was great but I think they are understaffed. They were very hard to get a hold of and we had many things stolen. When she left she did not have any of the same clothes that she went in here with. They wouldn't let her take her daily vitamins unless prescribed by a doctor. It was advertised in the paper that they were pet friendly but that was not the case when we asked them about it. The way they presented themselves was not who they really were which was disappointing. After she left there was no follow up from any of the staff members. I do not think it was a terrible place, I just think they need more help.

I am no longer living there. When I originally moved there, I had a great impression of the community. However, I became displeased when I realized that I did not have an oven. I was not pleased with the fact that my 1 bedroom was outdated and did not have an oven, and they had no intentions of replacing the stove unit. (Other apartments had an oven.) The sliding glass door did not have a key and they had no intentions of making one. I was told not to worry about locking it when I go out because the community was safe. They indicated that the sliding glass door was going to be replaced, but they made no attempt to do so until I left. It's also important to know that if rent is missed, arrangements can be made but have to made by a certain date or there would be an automatic eviction. Many other residents have been evicted and have left on their own because of that issue or because of the fact that maintenance was slow and that the facility was outdated and did not warrant the amount of the rent. They made it very easy to move in, but after moving in, things changed over time, especially with new management. I understand that other communities are more expensive, but they are updated and have better services. I would not recommend Revela to anyone, unless the "cheaper price", and outdated appearance doesn't matter.

We were referred her by a Place for Mom, this was my 2nd time to tour, the 1st time we went, had an appointment and there was nobody there to greet us or help us. Apparently the lady we were supposed to me had quit and didn't tell anyone about our appointment. I went again today and the person who we had an appointment with quit or left a few days ago so we meet with the director of Autumn Wind. The facility is very outdated. He told me that they have just been bought out by another company and hopefully they will be updating the inside so it looks more modern and not like your in the 70's. When he took us for a tour, he preceded to us that they are very low on revenue and when someone "closes" and puts their deposit down, that is when they will revamp each room. They just hired 13 new nurses because they we having so many of the residents getting hurt and not being tended to. I'm glad he was upfront with us about that because we will definitely no be taking my parents there.

I expected more for the high cost paid. The activities were very good, but we didn't take advantage in too many. My loved one doesn't eat meat. Alternatives were mostly grilled cheese, fried chicken fingers and PB&J. The care services was rated lower, mainly due to medication dispensing. The nurse would only use the list provided by the doctor which had 6 incorrect medications/dosages. The would not use the correct and up-to-date list provided by me and would not listen until we refused to take some of the meds. The should have compared the lists and let someone know about the disagreements.

I was so excited to get my dad a place here, the people were so friendly and they showed me all the neat pictures of activities they'd done it the past. Unfortunately, it wasn't the same place once I got him moved in. They had an employee test positive for covid so they locked families out without ANY notification. A number of times I came to pick dad up and we was wearing the same other for days and smelled unclean. He became very confused so they moved him to a locked unit. His doctor wanted to test him for an infection and she tried for days to contact someone there, she ended up calling me to take him to the ER. He had an infection/cyst on his back the size of a golf ball and had a UTI....no one there noticed. After this I decided to move him, the new place needed to do a move in evaluation by a medical provider but was unable to get ahold of administration to set up a time so they just showed up and was never granted access. After a month of trying the new place just took my dad. Yes, there are a number of friendly caring staff there but they are only able to so much and have their hands tied by administration and corporate. I know that those staff were worked 12 and 16 hour shifts because they were losing good staff. Don't be fooled by the nice new advertising

In the beginning it was awesome, they could handle what I was needing for my mother. But once we actually got in there, it seemed to be over their heads. Unfortunately they had lost my mom several times. They are not equipped or educated to handle this type of case. The facility is beautiful but just did not fit for our needs. It is clean and the food is also great. I was not impressed at all with that piece of it. They shouldn't advertise anything with memory care in my opinion, as I do believe they have the correct experience for those types of patients. Communication was very bad in addition. When you have patients with memory care issues, they need to be on a daily routine, checked on often and not left alone to wander off which caused her to be lost several times, likely more than I believe I was told.

We toured Linda Valley Assisted Living & Memory Care. We didn't like that the residents have a shared room. That was the deciding factor between Linda Valley and the community we chose.

This was a nightmare for my loved one and family. The first week was good. However, within the first week they placed other resident's clothing in my loved one. Once I settled my loved one into the community the community locked the unit down. The only way they let the family in to the community was by scheduling an appointment. I had to go get my loved one and take them to the hospital since the doctor couldn't get ahold of the staff for assistance. My loved one's demeanor changed after leaving this community. Once my loved one was moved out of the community my loved one improved. My loved one liked the food here and had different selections of options for the residents to choose from. There were no activities for the residents during my loved one's stay. They were way under staffed.
