When they moved into the Ivy their room was not clean and my son’s girlfriend had to do a thorough cleaning herself, especially the bathroom. After that I remember her saying the staff quality of care wasn’t very good and they didn’t get a lot of the attention they needed. They were moved as soon as a 24 hour care facility had space and they are very happy now!

My mother-in-law lived at The Carlotta in Palm Desert for a few years. In March of 2023, she moved from her casita (on site) to their assisted living facility where she passed away in August 2023. She loved living there! Unfortunately, as of today [date removed], we're still trying to get our large deposit back. We keep getting the run around and now nobody will return calls or emails. I had written a negative review before and another family contacted me because they too were having the same issue (their case is even older than ours!). It's terrible that a "nice" place like this doesn't want to give your money back. Based on this, I would NOT recommend this place. My mother-in-law would be so upset if she knew what her beloved Carlotta is doing to her family. P.S. The Carlotta had said they were using her casita as a model and that's why it wasn't sold. Why are we having to pay for them to use it as a model? Give us our money back and you can do whatever you'd like with it.

I would tell others looking that if a 100 year old dies or needs to move on the 8th of the month the bill will be for TWO months and the person or family receives a phone call and letter from a lying attorney in Florida. Two months notice is "required" ... Such vile BS. I offered to immediately pay a reasonable amount eg $[removed]. but they wanted $[removed]. plus Heck, they might get a person to pay AND re rent the room so get double. I do not recommend them.

I wouldn’t recommend this facility to anyone. My husband’s stay was a nightmare. Two days within his stay he fell because he was unattended on his left shoulder, until this day his doctor ordered PT and he’s in constant pain. Room was dirty, they left him in wet sheets overnight and he developed a rash on his privates. He was mishandled at night by two male attendants, which we reported. Last full day he was there I found his wet sheets with a dirty pull-up stuffed up in corner of his closet ! We moved him out next morning after 10 days terrible stay! Bad bad experience!!!!

We had an AWFUL experience with Ivy Park. We moved Mom to a different facility and she has since passed a year ago [date removed] . I would never recommend Ivy Park to anyone. They need to improve on everything. I don't feel they are properly trained or knowledgeable enough to provide Personalized individual care for Memory Care Patients. They never made sure mom's dentures were cleaned, at one point when she wasn't eating and she told us it was because her mouth was sore. When we checked her dentures they were covered with black mold. We were asked to bring personal grooming supplies, which we did, then they asked us to bring more. When we got to Mom's room, we found all of the original products that we brought, and none of them had even been used. Mom's hearing aids were lost within the first week of her being there. Mom was ambulatory when we first put her in the facility and within a few weeks she was not walking anymore and was not able to get out of a wheelchair after that. Mom was constantly exit seeking while she was there and begging us to get her out of there . This did not happen when we put her in the new facility. Our overall experience was very negative and as I stated before, we would never recommend this place to anyone.

My mom lived there from approximately [dates removed]. During that time they had three executive directors each one I met with and told them that my mother had things stolen that some of her medication wasn't being dealt out properly and that someone was joyriding on her electric scooter in the middle of the morning while my mom slept. My mom had her I watch stolen she had her clothes stolen she had money stolen and she had her wheelchair stolen. I saw the shuttle bus driver put a lady onto the bus with my mom's wheelchair he saw me he stood between my line and the chair, the tag that was on it with my mother's information fell off in the parking lot. I showed this to the concierge, crickets. I filed the police report. The facility is gorgeous sometimes the people are nice. When she ran out of medication nobody told me she had about 10 medications she was taking and seven of them were empty they had none. Someone wanted a referral -I said not there.

First two years in assisted living wonderful. New management forced mom into Memory Care as she is on blind. At another $1000 we cannot afford. Just returned from a visit. 6 pm Monday night. Only one nurse on duty for the whole floor. Another patient hitting my husband with her oversized walker, trying to get into my mom's apartment! Several patients try to use her room as a bathroom! My mom is usually fed, and I find her locked in her room. In two months, she has lost the will to live. Please find me a caring place to take my 99 yr old mom!

Our experience was extremely disappointing. They would send monthly bills and never provide breakdowns. They told us their system couldn't do that. We found out on a couple incidents that we were being billed incorrectly only because we were persistent. They are not resident friendly, the one side of Ivy, where the participants are in wheelchairs and walkers there's no activities on that side. These poor people have to go all the way over to the other side and most of them are discouraged so they spend time in the rooms by themselves not a lot of interaction with those on the assisted living side.

I wrote a 5 star review on this site for Oakmont in 2016. I need to get it removed, because now Oakmont is one star at most. I'm a positive person as you can see from my old review. My Father lived here since 2016. It has gone down hill in the last few years. Staffing is so low, which means residents are totally ignored, given attention, or proper care. When I'd visit he was ver checked on or when I left it took 10-15 minutes to find staff to let me out. If you complain they charge you more money, but you never see more staff added. I am not happy with the current management. TV is the main activity in that crowded front room. The garden and dining room is often closed. The residents at Oakmont seem, unhappy, agitated, or drugged. That was how my father became. In the new place he is so happy. He is treated like family with hugs, laughter, smiles, dignity, and conversations. He did not get this at Oakmont. Observe often, research, and don't believe what they tell you.

this was an awful experience for our whole family. The cost versus the care had such a tremendous difference in quality. The care was well below what we would have anticipate and the food and activities were the worst. My mother sat all day with very little to do. The television is used to babysit it seems. We had to move her. The company seems to be going from bad to worse.

I had lunch today with the daughter of a close friend who had her mother here. She shared with me that they moved her from Oakmont to another facility because of the lack of proper care. In chatting, I mentioned that I had read on a popular, neighborhood website a family describing their horrible experience with Oakmont including residents from the memory care escaping. I realized it was she that wrote the tremendously popular article describing her experience. The public comments to her article were filled with gratitude as to the warnings and experiences shared. I shared what I witnessed when I had visited her mom and that it left me deeply concerned. When we arrived, we could not find any employees to help locate our friend and the door to her room was locked. We finally found someone to open the door. She had been locked in her room. I don't believe legal? We are a race that doesn't typically speak Spanish and apparently this left two workers comfortable making degrading comments

There is no transportation. I’m sorry I got rid of my car. There is no physical therapy as of this weekend and we haven’t been told who’s going to take their place. There are no activities since the Activity Director quit. Generally, I am not satisfied with this place. The food is terrible except for breakfast, and they often run out of/or change the menu. We are treated like second-class citizens, and the last people that they notify about changes that impact us. The waiting staff is very nice. As are the nurses that we see occasionally. And the front desk people who seem to know more than anyone else about what’s going on. All in all it’s a bad mistake.

Unfortunately I have to post a poor review about the Ivy. A month ago I was there visiting my Dad and I saw a rat run under a couch near the entrance to the "B" side. Then 4 days ago my Dad contracted Norovirus (transmission is fecal-oral, so someone preparing food did not wash their hands) and he was admitted to the hospital. I asked several times for his room to be cleaned because I had read that it lives for up to 2 weeks on surfaces and I had to keep going back to his room to get him things while he was in the hospital. They did not come and clean and they told me they would not clean unless it was his usual day (every Wednesday) or if he was being discharged. I find it very disappointing that they won't send in housekeeping to clean his room. He pays $[removed] a month, but cannot get his room cleaned when he's admitted to the hospital after contracting a virus from their food. Up until now we were very satisfied with their facility, but that has now changed.

The time money and stress caused by my grandma living here was extreme. Poor quality of care, lack of staff, lack of experience and training, residents locked in their rooms with staff claiming ignorance about how that happened when they hold the keys. Escapes not reported. All around a complete mess of a facility and at a tremendous cost The positive reviews should absolutely be ignore especially "[name removed]" who tried multiple times to post a fake review on another platform. Many many families have fled this facility due to horrendous care. please look at reviews on all platforms you can as they are honest and awful. No experience is required to be a caretaker despite paying top dollar for care. Staff shortages mean the actives never happen and your loved one will be walking around aimlessly or seated in front of the tv for hours on end watching some show they never wanted to watch. Please look elsewhere.

The Memory Care wing at Ivy Park San Ramon is a new facility, and as such is experiencing some teething troubles, most notably it is understaffed. If your loved one requires a low level of care, then it may be fine, however if they require more assistance with every day life, I cannot recommend it at this time. There were a number of things that were handled so poorly that we had to move to a new facility - we stayed within the Ivy Park family, moving to [removed] whose Memory Care wing is more established and better staffed

We were very disappointed in Ivy Park. We moved my 97-year old mother out after only three months. The main problem was Ivy Parks caregiver to resident ratio. There simply weren't enough caregivers on staff to provide an acceptable level of care for the number of residents who needed them. My mother frequently had to wait 30-45 minutes for help with essential tasks like going to the bathroom, getting transport to/from meals and assistance in preparing for bed at night. We tried to work with management to resolve issues. They were sympathetic and responsive in our meetings but there was no follow-through. Nothing changed. In addition, administration and operations were poorly managed and confusing. Information from doctors and physical therapists wasn't shared between shifts so care was inconsistent. Monthly bills weren't itemized so it was practically impossible for us to understand increased costs and very difficult to reach anyone who could explain them. Ultimately, we decided the best thing for my mother was to move her out.

If I could give this memory care facility 0 stars, I would. Don't get me wrong, it is a very nice assisted living place with nice apartments and common areas. However, the memory care facility deserves 0 stars. My father who suffers from Alzheimer's entered the facility in early November. The staff at the memory care unit failed to give him his medications for 24 hours. After being without his meds, he had a psych episode and was taken to the hospital where he spent 3 weeks recovering from this experience. He is currently well taken care of in a residential care facility. The Ivy Park memory care unit is understaffed and lacks experienced caregivers. It recently changed ownership (July 2023) and the care is not on par with other facilities. Do your due diligence if you are considering Ivy Park for your loved ones suffering from dementia and don't be dazzled by nice facilities and good food. What patients with dementia need most is good experienced staff and Ivy Park doesn't have it.

Poor staff response to call lights. Other memory care residents entering others rooms uninvited.
