Awesome Group of People

My mother was in this facility for a short time. She passed away shortly after moving in. She was well cared for and loved. I really really loved the activities leader Crystal she was always so full of life and doing interesting things that I never thought my mom would participate in. Talk about someone knowing all her residents and not only the residents she knows everyone she knew my name after only meeting me once and she made it her business to always be smiling and comforting to the family members as well as her residents! I would recommend this facility to anyone that needs TLC during this transition. Not sure if [Removed] is still there but if she is you can sure bet that she is going to love you and your loved one through this process! Thank you to the entire Juniper team! You made a hard time easier to manage!

Not a bad community

This is a clean nice community. The staff are nice they help dad with his medication and some of his personal needs. They encourage him to go to the dining room for meals. This is a small community and he has a very small room. The do accommodate his special diet. This community is a little farther away than we like so we may be looking for another community closer to us.

Top Care For Her Long Term Care

It has been going fine for my mom and she is getting long term care at this community. Treatment and care wise they are off the charts. They have gotten to know my mom and identified her problem. I like that she is comfortable and they understand her issues. They monitor her sugar, salt, and carb intake with their meals. I know that they are giving her what she needs and it is taking time for her to get use to. As for their communication they can improve better on the business side and with appointments.

Excellent

Have lived here for almost 5 years and enjoy my sunny apartment, excellent meals, pool exercise, physical therapy (when needed) and chosen activities like movies and bingo. I am thankful daily that I am not still in my house alone. I have 4 sons who live at a distance and visit when they can. I have my car parked nearby and will choose to give it up when I feel it's necessary. I enjoy meals in the dining room with a different group each night.

Nice so far....

So far so good. But it's really too soon to know. Looks clean and well appointed and most, if not all, of the residents I see look content if not happy. I've asked some residents how they liked living there and how the food was. They all gave a "good" response. So that was comforting. One lady told me "It's all what you make of it". So if you want to be anti-social and grumpy then you wont like this place or anywhere else for that matter. But if you are accepting of the fact that this is where you will be living and that you better make the most of it, then I think you will be pretty happy at Brookdale.

We toured Juniper Village and saw many things that we liked. The facility was clean and the staff was friendly. I really liked how they have the facility and residents divided into 4 sections. This division appears to give the staff a better chance to bond with their assigned residents and they are able to focus more closely on their individual needs.

Good, but room for improvement in connecting with family members

I'm thrilled with Emeritus's desire to "join" my loved one's "journey." I have found the head nurse to be knowledgeable and compassionate, and most of the workers I've spoken with are kind and seem attentive. But I will say that it is hard to get in touch with the folks in charge and often when I speak with those who I do get on the phone, they can't really tell me much. My hope is that they are more fully staffed for caring for people, than they are for responding to family members. So far, my loved one is doing well, although we've apparently had a few missteps in responding to certain needs.

Clean, bright, safe facility

Plus: Clean, bright, safe facility with ample engagement / activity opportunities for residents. Pleasant staff and roving health care providers. Welcome visitors and willing to meet with family members. Resident has shown tremendous improvement since moving in 6 weeks ago. Minus: Difficult to contact residents and staff. Difficult to initiate care from primary NP, PT, OT, ST, mental health NP, and dentist. No transportation to outside doctor appointments. Caregivers do not insist on residents bathing and grooming which is not appropriate for Memory Care residents.

Initially great then a decline of activities and administrative response

Juniper Village at Chatham is a very clean place. The staff is very pleasant. My mother's room is quite small but that's because my sister chose that size of accommodations up until Sunday. Everything was fine but I was very disturbed on Sunday when another resident was calling for help because her private aid never showed up and I had to go to try to get AIDS from the facility to come and help her and they didn't show up for over a half hour so it seems like they're having staffing problems at this time.

Review for Juniper Village at Monroeville

There were good things about the facility and also some things that weren't so great. However, my dad's level of care increased while he was there, eventually being too much for this facility. A majority of the staff was very kind and helpful and the facility was clean and bright. For a fully functioning resident, I imagine Juniper would be great. Our parent required extra help and often when we went to visit, it was apparent that no one had checked on him for extended periods of time.

The food is good and ordered by the guest themself in the dinning room. Lots of activitys for the residents to do. But they do not keep her room clean. The nurses all handle her diffently and not with the wishes of the PT or OT people. This dose not help her get stronger. Communication between department are very bad

Memory Care
November 25, 2025

Had a terrific discussion with the sales manager and then toured the facility. In the course of seeing several patient rooms I casually asked if the furnishings we were seeing were standard for a room. The guide surprisingly informed us that furniture was the patient's responsibility, as were all linens. Had I not asked this question that important information would not have been disclosed. Later I asked about other excluded items and was told a complete list would be provided when the contract was signed. We were expected to make a decision without key non-included components being disclosed. There was a complete lack of transparency and disclosure. Additionally we felt the large, central, chaotic community room was not a good fit for our prospective patient.

It's been an okay experience even for one who feels this level of care isn't fully required.

1.. Overall experience 3 to 4. 2. The facility is very clean and kept clean 4 3. The facility is very friendly for the most part 4 4. Quality of care 3 5. Administrative staff 4 6. Food.2 my mother, asked about gluten-free alternatives and was told that if you wanted it, family had to provide it which I have done. 7. Activities seem good, mostly in-house. 4 8. Value for money -I wonder. Some of the rules seemed to change quickly once we arrived. For example, she had a pet dog that she was very keen on and within the first month dogs weren't permitted without a large additional fee. Has mentioned in the food above it seemed odd that food allergies had to be done independently, but for the cost of bringing in gluten-free noodles and other items, she seemed happy overall with the food
