The complex has been undergoing construction since we've moved my dad and brother in. The 2 bedroom units are spacious and the patios are very large which is nice. We were provided great customer service and the food has been good for the most part. The only issues we've had has been with the maintenance dept as they don't seem to prioritize their to do list. I'm sure the construction is one of the reasons they haven't gotten to items we have reported.

They just have one very old elevator. All the residents dis-satisfied with the single, ancient, rickety elevator. I do think that they could use way more gardens, particularly raised beds, to get those old geezers outside! I do absolutely love that they welcome dogs!

The staff is great. We have a great manager. He steps up and does anything, even cooking and waiting on tables. He even shoveled snow from my car when it wasn't done and I needed to get out. The food is not proper for elderly people, a lot of fried food not enough vegetables mostly asparagus carrots mixed summer squash and hardly any fresh fruit. They say they put it out 3 times a day, but not enough for so many people if you aren't there when they put it out you don't get any. We are spending almost as much for proper food as we did at home.

I'm a resident at Solstice at Normandy Park and overall things have been okay for me. The staff and other residents are friendly. The food is okay. The quality of care is okay. I'm finding that management and all staff are very receptive.

The staff is excellent.[name removed] was wonderful and genuine and everyone else has been so kind to my mom. It helps a lot because she believes she's not old enough to be there.

The reason I rated the overall experience so low is because the facility didn't provide the level of care my mother-in-law needed.

Solstice Senior Living could improve on the overall value for cost but so far we are enjoying living here.

Activities director is very nice, food service not so great as residents have long wait times and food orders often are wrong. There is much favoritism among some waiters and some residents. If you are not a favorite, then waiting up to an hour to get your plate is not unusual. This is probably due to being quite short staffed. Other staff is very nice. Facility and grounds, including pool, are very clean. It's the only independent senior facility that washes residents' sheets and clean units weekly. Overall, we are satisfied with this place.

The staff is kind. When asked about a few repairs that we asked about they never were repaired. They contracted with a different health care workers from [name removed] to [name removed] the change was really terrible. My parents needed 24 hour care and they did not do what they had promised. [name removed] and her care providers were wonderful to my parents and when they made the changes it was awful. They no longer checked on my parents and they took the money but did not provide the care. So I had to hire care providers on my own and they didn't seem to care. I explained what happened to the [name removed] at solstice and she acted as though they didn't care. My mom passed away on [date removed] and we moved my dad to another place. They were only at Solstice from [date removed] to [date removed] .

My loved one was a resident at Solstice Senior Living at Sandy. The meals were minimally tolerable. The housekeeping was fair. The maintenance was severely delayed, when requested. My loved one was unhappy at this facility and ultimately ended up moving. I cannot recommend this facility to others.

They need to improve on their cleaning, or offer to reimburse/comp residents to hire their own, Really need to improve their menus to be lower sodium and fat. Example- corn dog and tater tots or fries- how is this healthy?? Cheap and easy, sure, but definitely not healthy.

We toured Solstice Senior Living at El Cajon and it was okay. There did not seem to be much activity going on among the residents when we visited. One thing that I didn't like was the Meal credit. You get a fixed credit each month for Meals. I can't remember what their process was if/when you went over your limit, but I didn't like that process.

My loved one is a resident at Solstice Senior Living at Normandy Park. The housekeeping is great. The food is also great. Everyone is super friendly at this facility. The activities are great, as well. I feel safe having my loved one here at this facility.

I toured this facility and it was ok. It was a bit outdated and wasn't very wheelchair friendly (narrow doorways, etc).

Maybe not the first thing that comes to mind when looking for Senior Living is food. Seniors deserve to have the benefits of good food for health and to make their lives pleasant. My parents lived at Solstice for 2 1/2 years. I saw their meals almost everyday. The food was consistently horrible in taste, presentation and nutrition. How disappointing it was for them everyday having to pick through their food to find anything edible. We brought food to supplement what was served because the calorie intake was not sufficient. On several occasions they were served a hotdog, no bun, and nothing else. Other times they were given a peanut butter sandwich & told they had run out of food. Several times they had NO meal. All was brought to the attention of management on many occasions to no avail. We were given false hopes that things would get better but they never did. Shame on you for taking away one of life’s simplest pleasures from those that need it most. No concessions were offered.

When my loved ones moved in they were supposed to get their sheets changed and washed every week and they immediately said they were not doing that anymore. They run out of food, they cannot keep help, the quality has not been great. They are having a lot of turnover of kitchen staff. They had to do a buffet for people in walkers and wheelchairs. We have not been happy with the food at all. They do not have drivers to take residents to appointments even though that was a service they told us was provided. The things they promised us in the beginning are not being carried through with and we have been disappointed in the experience.

I'm not really happy with it. I think you should look a little closer before deciding to move here. The food situation needs improvement. They don't serve good quality food. The apartment is just okay. The staff are good though.

Our family had an in person tour and it was a nice experience. They played a lot of activities and the bingo was going on over the speakers it was so loud it reminded us of being on a cruise ship. They do serve their meals on scheduled times which we decided would not work for our loved one - they only serve continental breakfast and not a full breakfast. Lunch is only served Saturday's and Sundays, and dinner is served between 4:00pm - 6:00 pm

They can work on improving their response times for when something needs repair - they say they are short handed which could be try but it's not like w get a discount because they are short handed. That also has to go with the maid service. The dining and meal service according to our loved one is not happy with the quality of the meals

Our family had an in person tour and it was a nice facility but it just was not able to compare to another facility our family had looked at.
