Last year a loved one came to take a tour. I would recommend you be careful as they tell you things that aren't true. There is no bus or transportation to go to the bank or shopping. There is no bus driver. We wanted to go to a specific town and thought the community would take us and they won't go to the city. The food quality is a problem. We are working on getting the food improved. The just reopened the dining room this weekend. There was only one juice available and it was limited choices of drinks.

Our loved one rooms was really cute, it was the perfect size and it was exactly what she needed.

I would want others to know that my dads main complainant is the food. I have seen it and it is not nutritious and the quality is terrible, it is a lot of frozen and canned meals. Also with the whole covid thing, the staff members do not wear their masks consistently and some of the residents do not either. They are not good with communication about everything that is going on inside the facility.

We have had trouble with the staff from the time we moved in. The people that run it aren't very nice. My loved one enjoys living there and has made a lot of friends. If you try and request anything it will take days for the community to respond. The woman we spoke with on the phone wouldn't go check on our loved one, even though we were having trouble getting a hold of them.

There is no staff on sight for medical issues. they have an outside company that the resident can contract with that will inflate the cost, they were expensive, to begin with. I would recommend this community if your loved one is independent and doesn't need a lot of medical care.

The staff members at Solstice Senior Living are really good people, some activities they had were bingo, movie nights and religious services. The activities scheduled before COVID was very well rounded. Our one problem we did have, was that they allowed smoking and one door down from our loved ones room was a smoker. Every time you passed their door you would smell all the fumes that were coming out which was a big worry for us. Even after expressing our concerns they still continued to allow smoking within the nursing facility.

It seems like a nice place, they seem to have a lot to offer. I did not like that they would not let my mom out of the contract when she was not physically able to move. It is just too bad my mom never moved in. I liked Solstice Senior Living.

Think twice about encouraging a loved one to live here. While the setting is desirable and most staff are caring and skilled--some exceptionally so--there is a serious problem with management, not just due to the frequent turnover. After one year of residence with no issues our mother was spoken to and treated abusively, negatively impacting her health and safety while already under stressful virus restrictions. Both she and her family were lied to and threatened--all to achieve a result that basic communication skills and human kindness could have more easily achieved. The current executive director needs to find another line of work before harming another resident.

Solstice is very nice, but the apartments don't have any type of kitchen at all to speak of. They have a lot of activities. The food was decent. More pricey than Legacy at Erie Station, but still $1500 a month less than the Landing of Brighton.

Not independent enough for my mom's liking. Preferred a small kitchen.

Nice staff and great variety of activities. Found pricing high compared to another Senior community near by.

The community was Essington Place when my family member moved in. At that time, my family member enjoyed the food and the activities offered. When Solstice took over from Holiday, the chef left and the food quality has dwindled down. Most nights, my family member and friends eat cold sandwiches due to inedible food choices. The residents pay way too much for the "chef-prepared feasts at mealtime" to be eating cold sandwiches at lunch and/or dinner on a regular basis! Worse than the food, however, is the fact that as soon as Solstice took over, they immediately raised the rent of each resident by approximately 10%. Because most seniors, including my family member, live on a fixed income already stretched thin by the cost of retirement living, this seems ridiculous. While willing to negotiate to a somewhat lower increase, 5-8% rather than the full 10%, it has already been stated by Solstice that there will be an increase of at least 5% each year! Apparently they feel this is an acceptable practice. My family member who loved the community and chose it over three others has asked me to begin researching other communities again. It is disheartening that in such a short period of time there have been so many negative changes.

Overall, I feel my time at Solstice Senior Living has been good. Initially, I felt comfortable from he moment I walked in the door. The staff was helpful, and everyone greeted you. A new company has just taken over management, so there are a lot of changes going on that sometimes make it hard to keep track of things. Generally though, the staff is helpful, the food is excellent, the place is clean, and they always have plenty going on for the residents. It is still a good community, and I'm hopeful that when the new management settles in, things will run more smoothly.

I toured here when looking for a place for my mother-in-law and we visited during lunch time on a day where the shuttle was out with the more active guests. My mother-in-law didn’t like it because everyone looked like they were in a nursing home. She thought everyone looked too sedentary. The facility wasn’t that bright and cheery and it was older so there was more wear and tear. The lady that we talked to was very nice and helpful. She had lunch with us and talked to us about the facility and answered all of the questions we had.

I toured Mesa View while looking for living options for my father. I liked that this community was close by, that the staff was very helpful, and that is had a homey, comfortable feel. However, I found that it was smaller and a little expensive, so we ultimately chose another community.

Nice place. A bit too far for us. Staff seemed friendly. Grounds were very nice.

Nice older facility, extra care (assisted, skilled, memory) are all extra. Family to bring in and provide. Rent of apt. are reasonable. Rooms are spacious, kitchen small refrigerator, no stove or oven.

I am trying to eat everything. Good food with 3 or 4 choices. I'm very versatile at eating, nonallergic and a complete change of eating as in well balanced diet. Weekly house carpet vacuum, washed floors, bathroom cleaning. Everything was ready for movers arrival and unpacking.

I had a pretty nice tour of this community. I toured it for my mother, and her needs. The staff was friendly, and nice. The community looked nice, but my issue was the hallways. They were very long, and I thought it was be difficult for my mother to walk down such long hallways. Also it was a bigger community than I would have liked. It was a good experience, but not the right fit for my mother.
