The management is disconnected from what is happening with the staff. The facility is severely understaffed. There is no process if a staff member were to call in. For the dining menu- it is not designed for seniors. Most are diabetic or hypertensive. The menu should have more fresh options, low salt options, less processed foods. Fried foods covered in gravy are not healthy choices. They do encourage social interaction. They do have plenty of entertainment

I toured this community and it was ok. It did look a little more worn and is an older building. Cleanliness wasn't as good as some of the other places we toured. The staff seemed good. Overall, it could use some refurbishment and it didn't quite have the feel that we were looking for. They also don't have a Memory Care unit on site.

We picked this community because, the staff was very kind and inviting, the cost was affordable, the location was close to my house, and they had lots of activities, I thought my loved one would be happy there. Instead what I have found is that some of the CNAs are caring and some aren't. The food is very unappealing and unappetizing. My loved one complains about the vegetables being undercooked., and says sometimes the food is too hard to chew.

My parents love to go down to the dining room and have dinner with everyone. The other residents there are very nice. It's located close to other stores, which makes it nice. The downstairs level 1 smells like pee because the dogs have really soiled the carpet, and they haven't taken care of it. (Levels 2 and 3 don't smell like that.) Also when you first get there, the staff are really nice, and then it kind of peters off from there. But overall, if I had to find a place for my parents again, I would definitely consider Bridgeview Estates.

This community is really dirty and they need to get it cleaned up. Especially in the assisted living side it is really dirty. The food is also nasty and they need to make changes with this. The CNA's and nurses were good but I think that they need more experienced management, they are nice but just not very experienced. If they got this community cleaned up and got new flooring and even painted, this community would be nice. They could use new furniture and carpet in the common areas.

The Bridge community has beautiful grounds, it has a very open concept and the people there were for the most part friendly. The rooms were very nice and very accommodating. We did have a couple issues with the care services, our loved ones medicine was dispensed twice in a day at times and it seemed like the nurse and the nursing staff was not as knowledgeable in some things as we had hoped for.

The Inn at Garden Plaza has some real fabulous employees that really care about the residents needs. The place is super clean and modern. There are many activities to keep them all as busy as they would like. They are treated with respect and generally treated as adults as this is independent living. My complaint is the overall policy handling the Covid pandemic and starving these residents of companionship and interaction. There were no cases of Covid from the residents and the cases that were reported were from the staff. I believe better steps to combat that in staff were necessary. So why keep the residents away from each other and confined to their rooms for over a year. They were treated like prisoners when there are many private game and chatting rooms they could have visited each other in. Its frustrating to see our senior community lonely and scared during this time and the Inn did nothing to help them through this.

The place is nice along with the community. The care is not where it's supposed to be. The attention to the resident's call buttons and having to wait a bit before staff comes in is not good. I believe the care could be a bit better.

If your loved one needs more care, this is probably not the right place. My loved one ended up not being able to get out of bed, and they would bring food to the rooms, but she couldn't get to the food where they dropped it off. If you can, I would recommend asking lots of questions about what the staff can and cannot do as far as care goes. The housekeeping and dining staff were just okay, but the front desk staff were great.

I visited this one myself without mom about six weeks ago. I liked the homey feel and I think mom would like it.

Garden Plaza is a terrible place. The management has no talent. Be very careful about charges made by them, especially initial charges, I found out they were scamming me out of money and they did not like when I asked for that back.

Garden Plaza of Aurora is really an impressive facility. It is very clean, nicely furnished and well taken care of. There seems to always be some type of activities offered. However they seem quite repetitive so i can see how residents could tire of them easily. The food seems adequate and they do offer regular set menu items in addition to the daily specials. The care givers are very nice and friendly - however they always seem rushed with all residents. Here's the issue - there is horrible inter-department communication. It's difficult to get an answer without being sent around in circles. A message left for the billing office 3 days ago and still no callback. If they could improve inter office/department communication - i would give a higher rating.

Food has been an issue since my parents moved in 5 years ago. They are currently training a server with no experience to be their new chef...horrible food. Constant staff turnover. Facilities are lovely. Rent raised annually regardless of capacity. Staff willingness to work with unique health needs extraordinary.

There are a number of unfulfilled promises. The activities person is leaving. They don't have many activities especially on weekends and although they have two buses parked in the lit, neither one works so residents can only be transported by a small SUV, 4 or 5 at a time. Food is good and the apartments are nice. Everything is kept clean but others should be told of the missing services as described above.

My sister is currently living at REMINGTON HEIGHTS. The last few weeks the food service has been limited. She has told me the staff in the kitchen has run out of food that was on the menu. Also, they are being served with paper plates and plastic knives and forks. That doesn't sound like fine dining as advertised. No help is provided if someone falls, 911 is the assist. I would not recommend this place.

Overall, very friendly. Maintenance requests take longer than expected. Staff try's to accommodate as needed. Cleaning of individual rooms needs more attention. The food was decent when we first moved him in, but they had a large change in personnel. Not sure how it has progressed.

It's not terribly spread out so it is easy to find your way around. It was nice to have an on-site salon for my mom. Employees that did not come from a staffing company would be a plus. In addition the food needs a lot of improvement.
