My mother likes life at Pin. Place. The staff seems sincerely interested and attentive to the residents (typical Iowa goodness). The food is much better in April 2017 up from darn awful. The weakness of the place is the health care. They miss things. I pity those without family to keep an eye on them. Administrators have been unresponsive to family communications. Their service is good but they've gotten fat and lazy.

I thought that the staff at this location was lovely and had great interaction with all of the residents. The community was very clean and had a lot of great amenities available to everyone. This was my first choice for a place for mother too move in but it was just too far for my family and I too get to her everyday.

Dad did not like this community when we visited. While we were there it did not seem very active. The community was dated. The people we met were nice and the community seemed clean.

The Sugar Grove is a clean very well maintained community. My loved one always smells good and has clean clothes on during my visits. The staff is friendly but they seem to be short staffed. The meals smell good but my loved one is not happy with the taste, it could use some improvement.

I was able to take a tour of this community and I just got the vibe that this was not the place for my loved one. They did not provide enough care for my loved ones needs. the people were really nice and accommodating with us.

I do like the staff here at this community and they are taking good care of my loved one. I just am a little bit upset since they said that they would try and get my loved one involved with things in the community and they have not done that yet. However, my loved one loves the food and they do keep me updated most of the time.

I was able to take a tour of this property and we did enjoy it. The director was extremely helpful and friendly. Answered all our questions and took us around. I just did not like the room situation with sharing.

The property is very nice, and peaceful.

Overall we are pleased with Rose Estates. It is clean, food is good and staff is friendly and welcoming. My issue right now - Mom cannot put any weight on her left leg because of a fractured hip. She has had to wait for help to assist her in getting off the toilet - one time was 30 minutes and another 25 minutes. I understand that the help might be busy with other residents, but I think that is way too long. Is there enough help? Mom is paying for Level #2 Assisted Living Care. I don't have any details in front me as to what that covers.

Having to make a decision on whether or not to put your love one in an assisting living facility is probably one of the most difficult decision a family has to make. I must say that we're still not sure we chose the right facility. The facility is very short staffed. English is a second language for the majority of the staff and I believe that's has a lot to do with pay. Definitely not enough RNs. We would give this facility a failing grade for activities. A monthly calendar list all sorts of games and activities; however no matter what time of the day you visit the residents are assembled in the front area around a television. This is day in and day out. It's really depressing to watch. Prior to putting my love one in this place, we visited several adult daycare and I was amazed how the staff engaged the participants in different activities for hours. From arts & crafts, chair exercises, singing, bible devotion, etc. The majority of the staff works very hard. They're friendly and seems to be attentive to the residents. We believe this facility has an executive director; however that person hasn't formally introduced themselves. Maybe our expectations were set too high as We were hoping to have a peace of mind. Instead we're still left wondering if this is the right place.

Friendly staff, residents mostly seem happy. Rooms are small but option for larger room is available on C wing. They seem very flexible to individual needs and are very accommodating to personal preferences.

I thought this community looked and felt like a clinical atmosphere. I was walked through what seemed like a back way, I saw the medical part of the facility. I did get to see the living areas but not much. I did not get a warm-home feeling but the people and staff are nice.

Mom is doing pretty well at this community. The staff are nice and very accommodating. The food is good the only issue with it is sometimes they are late getting the food to the residents on the weekend. This community does take medicaid. There is a urine smell when you first walk in but you do not notice it when you have been there for a while.

We are struggling to get the necessary attention for which we chose Rose Estates and were assured was available for our mother. We are disappointed in the care provided and frustrated by the lack of effort on the part of the Rose Estates staff to meet our needs at this time. We hope this will change but right now it is up to the family to monitor her needs and respond to frantic calls for help from her which are the result of failure of the staff to be monitoring her medical needs.

The turnover of staff had suddenly become an issue after years of consistency, friendliness and great quality of care. One could feel the happiness and family-like atmosphere in the halls, but they lost their manager to retirement, their cooking staff all left (food quality has completely deteriorated) and their fantastic handyman who practically whistled while he worked also left. Newer staff members do not have the training they need to deal with the elderly. Some (not all) staff members are cranky, disrespectful, and, in fact, downright bullying and rough with residents. Hopefully this is just a temporary issue and they will get a grasp on all of it, but for now, the family atmosphere and cooperative team feeling and support have not only declined, but reversed. This is a lovely facility and until all of the recent turnover of staff, we have been extremely happy with the care offered at Rose Estates. There are still staff members there who are wonderful and amazing, but they appear to be frightened or intimidated and less enthused about their jobs.

Overall I think Fieldstone Place is a nice community. The facility is clean and well kept, and the people seem friendly. My only complaint is that the communication and follow-up really drops off after you sign the paperwork. I'd appreciate the same level of service and communication after the sales process is over.

The staff members working at Amelia Place are very friendly with everyone and their food is really, very good. It does take a while for the maintenance team to get around to the residents' repairs though.

I am worried all the time. She is having problems adjusting. Some of the people are very nice there, which is good, but the accounting department has not been good, like billing and all that sort of the thing. I feel like she is being taken care of, but I don't feel like they are that accommodating to the family. I just feel like i'm in the dark about somethings. It's a nice place, but it hasn't been the best. There just isn't enough feedback.

When we moved my parents in there we had no one to greet us and give us an orientation. We didn't know how the laundry worked or what time meals were. That was hard because I had to figure out everything. We were just left there sitting and not knowing what to do. The elevator has been broken for 2 weeks. We're stuck upstairs because my dad can't use the stairs. The medications seem to come a different time everyday. There is no set time. My dad needs his pain medication before he goes to sleep. Everything else has been good. The staff seems nice. They just need more consistency.

We've used them a few times for respite care and my experience with Hope Memory Care Center has been a mixed one. The facility itself is very nice, it is new, clean, and well kept. However the aide staff just really seem like they do not want to be here, they aren't particularly friendly or caring. Also, Mom's room was never ready when I would bring her for the start of her stay, there was always some aspect of the room they hadn't quite finished working on. It is also worth noting that not every room in this facility has a private restroom.
