Located conveniently and nice location on river. Dining is horrible with constant turnover. Food is often cold if you're not there with the mass feeding. Management staff seem inexperienced and give you the "deer in the headlights" look when problems are brought to their attention. My overall opinion is that Solana charges a lot of money and puts minimal effort in to really making this a home for our loved ones. Colin does a good job at sales but his pitch is not reality. They are understaffed, poorly organized, do not communicate internally and don't seem to care. They have a CYA approach to problems rather than a willingness to understand and work towards a resolution. Owners should focus on making this a place where people are waiting to live rether than building new facilities. Invest in what you have and do it well.

Memory Care has a impressive calendar of activities, however, very few are done. Had a meeting with Ryan (head of the facility) and his boss Jenny. Ryan admitted that the activity director was not able to do all the activities because she was doing CNA work. Ryan and Jenny assured us this would change. It did change but for the worse! The memory care residents just wander around without any direction. They are not encouraged to eat but the workers are in a hurry to clean up and send them to bed immediately after dinner. I have witnessed this and the management doesn't care. The meals provided are as cheap as possible and you had better hope your family member likes pasta and hot dogs. This is a personal experience and unfortunately other resident's family do not visit enough to see what is or is not going on. Would not recommend this facility to anyone. When you complain the staff gets a hateful attitude toward you. We have complained several times to Ryan but nothing is done. I do not feel like Ryan has any control over his employees or he doesn't know how to be assertive.

We had to place our mother into this facility that was clearly not ready to handle someone with Alzheimers. She was evaluated prior to admission and accepted into the assisted side and was transferred within a week to the memory care unit due to inability to stay within the confines of the building. She knew enough that she did not want to be there. After ONE day up in Memory care they shipped her out "to have her meds adjusted". This happened 3 more times and on the third event she was asked not to return. I have since been told that is common with this particular facility that unless you have a zoned out zombie or someone who is just happy all the time, they don't want you. We were told "we cannot watch her 24/7." So why did I pay them $5 K a month? They have only been open a year and a half and the staff clearly has never heard of the terms redirect or comfort before. They prefer to let someone just do the work for them. She was sent out more than she was under their roof in a two month time span. Don't recommend.

Cancelled appointment - Independent living is concentrated in separate cottages, and the main building is Assisted Living. Although people can live "independently" in the in AL building, this is not the atmosphere we are looking for.

This is a beautiful facility, and if you are pretty together then it's like a resort. However when we came to Meadow Brook they assured me that they could handle ALL kinds of dementia. I was assured and assured and assured again, that they could handle it. The kind of dementia we were dealing with had not been diagnosed yet. Once he was there they called him violent, I think because he would push people away from him. They told me that I would have to take him to a hospital because he was so dangerous. Their medical director violated every protocol in transferring mental patients. I had to deal with my loved one being confused and scared, and begging me to go home, that he would be good if I would please just let him come home, all because she didn't know the protocol. They had me transport him in the front seat of my car to the hospital, even though they considered him so dangerous, and they were concerned for their safety. I guess my safety is of no concern, or maybe he wasn't that dangerous. They didn't tell me that the place I was supposed to take him had a psychiatric entrance, and I was told to take him to the main entrance, which meant a 25 minute walk, with him begging and pleading the whole way, that exacerbated his health conditions (heart and lung conditions). They also did not check that there would be a bed for him there, and after four hours of waiting there was not one. My choices were then to take him home, or back to Meadow Brook. I opted Meadow Brook because that's where his medications were. Even then they said family would have to stay with him even though they supposedly still considered him to be dangerous. They then decided to transport him, in an ambulance this time, to a hospital with an opening. That place was awful and I believe led to his rapid decline, and impending death. They stressed to be and advertised that they could handle dementia. Not only was that not the case, they were not able to handle it, but they could not even follow protocol in transporting him.

The cleanliness of the community was very poor, our loved ones room was very clean. It was filthy, the dining rooms were dirty and they would sit the residents down at dirty tables and the meals were terrible our loved one lost significant weight being there. Our loved one fell multiple times due to the care services, and care givers not being on a consistent schedule. There would be times we would call and never received a phone call back. Our loved one was still very social and intelligent and it was not a stimulating environment at all.

I would tell others that I have photos of my mom's dirty neck, so she was not bathed or cleaned. One of the receptionists was very condescending almost to a point of being rude whenever you would call. Their Covid protocols were a joke. My mom's medications were mixed up when she was here. It was an awful experience. We were here less than 30 days when we knew we needed to get her out, and they never refunded our deposit. Once we told them we were leaving, they gave her all this extra stuff and tried to make things right, so we knew it was all a show. I would not recommend to others looking.

My father has been here for several months and I do not recommend it if you truly want your loved one safe and cared for. The turnover is unbelievable and there have been times when there was one CNA for one entire side of the facility. There is NO communication between shifts and new staff is not trained at all. I've been there when a new CNA that answered my dad's call button after 20 minutes, had no idea what to do and didn't even know my father is incontinent. Since my father moved in January 2019, there are only two remaining staff members. They can't seem to find a way to manage this facility. We are paying for top level care and are definitely not getting our money's worth.

Meadow Brook Fishers has had tremendous staff turnover at all levels that have resulted in serious issues impacting the care and well being of residents. Whenever new management come in, we get the same story about how things will improve and sometimes things do get better but invariably the same problems return as management never stay long enough to get things resolved, staff leave and the temporary resources simply do not care. Medications are regularly not distributed properly, rooms are not kept clean, food is sometimes not very good, residents have fallen without proper staffing to render timely care, etc etc Management is either clueless or outright dishonest. There has been high resident turnover for these reasons. Family members have had to do a lot of the cleaning and care giving because Meadow Brook did not. Find another facility.

I realize that when someone has dementia its a difficult time. But when the staff doesn't know what's happened from shift to shift to a resident and there's inadequate knowledge of policy and procedure very dangerous things can and will happen. The facility is beautiful and everyone says the right things to get loved ones in the facility but then be careful. All I can say about this facility is that the breakdown of communication/ lack of experience and training has created a very very dangerous environment for residents.

My father-in-law stayed here for 9 days of respite care in January 2018. They did not provide the level of care that we agreed upon (and I paid extra for) before we dropped him off. They did not take him to meals, they did not help him dress or undress, they did not keep him clean, and they took away his help button, we found it on the sink under a washcloth. He was in bed wrapped in his blanket, dressed in only a T-shirt & sweat pants. None of the clothes I left him were touched other than his 3 pairs of PJs. He had feces on his sheet, on the toilet seat, and on the bathroom floor. He fell during his stay and they did not call the family or the doctor. When we complained, we got an email after 2 weeks stating that he had seemed happy while he was there, they took good care of him, and he really wasn't injured too badly when he fell, after all. The nurse who told us about the fall was let go

I was initially impressed, but that changed. My parents have lived there for over a year and sadly, I am moving them out of the facility. After all this time, knowing my parents both have Alzheimer's, they let them leave the building with someone they did not know and got no information from the person! I did not receive a phone call about it until over 2 hours later, when I received a phone call that some man took my parents and they couldn't even describe him. I am my father's guardian and my mother's POA & they had been gone for over 2 hours before I knew!! Fortunately, I was able to locate my parents and they were safe and with a relative. The relative had not been in the facility for over a year, did not sign them out, and no one stopped to ask questions! THEN, after my outrage, specific instructions not to allow anyone to take them without prior permission, it happened again the next day! All the other concerns pale in relation, but my parent's room often smelled and was very untidy even though we paid for cleaning 3 times a week. My parents were not kept clean after repeated requests and paying for shower assistance twice a week. I was horrified! The turn over is frequent and the care inconsistent. This is the reason I was given for my parents being allowed to leave the building with someone the caregivers did not know!
