I would not recommend this place to others unless they were terminally ill. When I was touring the facility I saw a room that had two beds that were toe to toe with each other and they placed a curtain around them. To me this was just on a low level that I did not feel comfortable placing my loved one here. It seemed really scary looking and you had that feeling of being in a really old hospital. Not at all homey.

Since moving my loved one into Amethyst Arbors, nothing seems to be turning out as we expected. The place is too big and confusing for her, and I don’t feel that she gets enough help from the staff. She’s always anxious, stressed, angry, and depressed here. We are giving it a little more time to see if she warms up, but I feel unsure. I would not recommend this community to others.

I Had the Pleasure of visiting a relative a few weeks ago and me and my husband were happy to join him for a lunch dining experience,,The food was really tasty and I enjoyed watching the other residents visit with each other, but watching a waitress assist in the dining experience saddened me, She never smiled , she would just take their order and rush the resident , she was more concerned in cleaning up the tables and setting up for what seemed like dinner table setting, As residents were lingering in after what seemed the rush hour of lunch, she would not acknowledge them, she was to busy setting up, and when she did take their order she rushed them, it was obvious the residents felt bad and felt rushed, she did not explain to them what was on the menu with care, knowing they were hard of hearing or maybe a bit confused. The other waitresses were much kinder and more attentive, they smiled with the residents and were not cold and stand offish. She does not belong on this team. My opinion of course , I found out her name was Yolanda... compared to the other servers she has much to learn and , she is there to serve and be kind and have patience and most of all Put On A Smile. Amethyst Arbor is a beautiful community and the care provided is good. Huge complaint is the missinformation from their marketing people that ALTCS would be accepted at The Arbor (confirmed 4 times) after Dad's money ran out. After move-in the story changed as confirmed by the Executive Director by email. No apologies, no nothing from the Executive Director, though the marketing people did apologize (thankfully). Very disappointing that such representations can be made with essentially no recourse, particularly after paying a $2,500 one time community fee. They do however have 2 other options for ALTCS, that being The Inn and The Gardens. The Inn is memory care and The Gardens was never offered as an option for assisted living. All in all a frustrating experience. As for A Place For Mom: they were very aggressive in assisting to find options though few were offered. After the sale, zero follow-up! In the same month we moved my Dad to a different property closer to where we live which was never offered by A Place For Mom, Avista Senior Living at North Mountain. The move was necessary as Dad became a wonderer and was no longer suited for either The Arbor or The Inn. They actually placed him in The Inn for a few days but with the mandate of a private caregiver at $25 per hour 24/7, when in reality The Inn is a secured memory care facility -- makes no sense to add the private caregiver. Needless to say, we had to act quickly. Amethyst is a fine community but to anyone considering care there I would say that if ALTCS is in your future, confirm everything said to you by marketing with the Executive Director and GET IT IN WRITING.

Within weeks of placing our mom at Autumn Glen we noticed her becoming quiet and sad. She said they were mean there. We started monitoring the security camera in her room more closely and were saddened to see she was right. We set up a meeting with the director of nursing. She was very receptive to our concerns and did meet with the staff to adress the issues. She has encouraged us to continue providing her with things that aren't working so she can work on correcting them. Unfortunately, until the hiring manger ups her standards for the caregivers she hires, this will be an ongoing issue. In truth, your loved one will have a 50/50 chance of getting a good caregiver. Caregivers are rotated to different areas of the facility on a weekly basis. No consistency for the resident.

Would not recommend. My parents lived there without incident for 14 months. When their health failed it was a nightmare for them and our family.

To be fair, my dad needed more care than they really could do. Seemed short staff and a lot of turnover. Many staff helping were not patient with those with greater needs. The food many times was very blah, and residents asking for options were never asked before the meals were prepared. The nurse and staff were very difficult to get a hold of and rarely returned messages. Even on simple things like the medication they were giving my dad. One time, he went to the hospital from falling, and they forgot to notify the family. He was only there for several months. It was not a very good rating from my family for them.

My loved one was previously a resident at Autumn Glen Senior Living. I wouldn't recommend this facility to others.

We think the best part about this community is the meals, but they could improve on their cost it is absolutely outrageous.

Limited English of caregivers. Hard to understand. Food has changed due to corporate cost cutting. Lack of privacy in apartments. High medication costs. Residents are just a financial number. Activities and PT GOOD.

The person who was supposed to take us on the tour wasn’t there, so we got a secondary person. The layout just wasn’t as open. The apartments were very nice, and the building itself was beautiful. But it felt more closed in, and it was older. What turned us off the most was the executive director tried to do a really hard sell. That did not go over well with us. He came across as very arrogant. Old Main Village was just not a good fit. There weren't any community gathering spots. Our tour guide kept focusing on and talking about the pool when we had no interest in the pool. And I didn't like that they didn't ask my parents for their perspective or ask what they were interested in.

[name removed] is a very nice person but even she could see that we were disappointed. There is no indoor pool and activities are very limited.The rooms are a little too small and the "cheap" refrigerators do not show well.

At the very beginning of our experience it was wonderful, they were very helpful in getting my mom in here, but it did decline due to covid. I do think they were trying the best that they could, but they did not try hard enough to keep the virus out, staff did bring covid inside of the facility. In less than 10 days after my mom was able to go out inside the common areas, she had contracted covid. They did let us inside to see her at the end of life.

I would tell people this community has a lot of turnover. They don't respond quickly to the resident's call buttons. The resident's rooms aren't cleaned like they should be. Before COVID the food was good when dining in the dining room. After COVID the food was delivered to the resident's rooms with little options. The dinner is served at 4 pm. There is no other option for the residents to eat. Lunch was finished at 1 pm. The meal times weren't spaced out correctly.

The communication is lacking with regards to medical changes with residents. A major medical change needs to be communicated to family members. A POA is not a guardian and does not have a say in who calls or visits a resident, A completed disregard for family members dealing with end of life situations. Greatly disappointed.

This has been a horrible experience for us and we are looking to find ourselves a new home we will not be going back to any community, The management here do not care about their residents. The food is horrible and the dining area is under staffed sometimes you wait up to 45 minutes for your dinner, there are very few amenities yet they do offer some field trips to go shopping. The staff, on the other hand, are fabulous they do try to help us and they are friendly and accommodating. We thought this was going to be a good move for us but now we see that most of the residents have just been put here by their families.

Even though it was some years that I had an experience here, I felt I did not want to tour this community. Based on the reviews the still did not improve their food. I did not want to put my loved one here if there was not a lot of activities and I did not get a good feeling.

I wasn't impressed with my tour of this community. There were many factors that played into where to move my mother to. This community I didn't feel was a good fit for her and her needs. It wasn't the place for us.

Our experience with this community was not a good one. The facility looks great and clean, there is housekeeping for the residents weekly. The aids at this community were great, they were very kind and helpful to my father. My issue was with the upper management and the way they misrepresented the community. The communication was not great between me and management. Good community, but the management needs improvement.

Beautiful place but we have been waiting for two months for an opening. They require a non-refundable $1200 deposit just to get on the "waiting list", which does not apply to the first month's rent!
