Mom and Dad are happy here

My parents have been here for a couple of months and things seem to be going well. The staff has been good and the interactions they have with my parents are good. Mom and Dad love the food and there are a lot of options to choose from. The kitchen really goes out of their way to find food that the residents like and my parents are eating very well. In fact, my Mom has even gained weight since living here (which is a good thing). The facility is very clean and I have no complaints about that. Because the facility is small, they don’t seem to offer a lot of activities and there are rarely any residents walking around. However, if you’re looking for a smaller community that feels more like home then I would recommend this place.

Help is better than good

While trying to find a place for myself I looked for assistance from A Place for Mom and they were extremely helpful. They recommended this location and it worked out perfectly. I am very grateful and pleased to be here. It was a good move. Their staff is very helpful, like any place, and I would recommend this place to others depending on their needs. This place is not perfect, but no place is and no place will be. However, I am pleased with everything. People here are very considerate and caring, the food is good with many options to choose from, and I could tell anyone that they could be really happy here. I would certainly, from my perspective and from where I am, give them a 5. There are things that I struggle with at times, but it’s good for me to be challenged. There are things that you have to work out which is good to do so. Overall, the help here is better than good and there is much opportunities here.

Pleasant and Helpful

My mother-in-law recently moved from the independent living at [Removed] to the assisted living area. Every single employee was incredibly helpful and upbeat throughout the process going over and beyond to see that she had what she needed. Each request was met with smiles and help. It gives me such confidence to know that she is being so well taken care of.

Navigating Elder Care, Independent and Assisted Living

My relationship with The Willows and Whitney Place facility and the very professional, compassionate staff that unite, as a well balanced team, to assist it's residents and help their family members, caregivers, navigate this challenging time in life began this past July. I was referred to The Willows and Whitney Suites Sales Counselor Sherry [removed] by Debra [removed], Executive Director of Geriatric Resource Centre. Me and my immediate family were struggling to find the best place for my mother and father whose health went down hill after living 46 years in Southern NH. We searched from Concord, NH - South to the Westborough area, seeking a facility that provided continuous healthcare, independent living, assisted living and nursing care. This effort was taking place while we were caring for my mother and father and preparing their residence for sale which is very common when these decisions are NO longer a choice. Deb [removed] provided excellent direction, understanding my parents physical and financial criteria and directed us to Sherry [removed] at Whitney Place. Our experience since this past July has been consistent, The Willows, Whitney Place and The Beaumont all share a common traits. The staff are friendly, courteous, driven professionals that strive to make their facility and care perfect. Our experience, from our 1st meeting with Sherry [removed], through all of the admission, financial paper work, the medical aspects and the move has been nothing short of incredible. Under the management of Executive Director Ben [removed], The Willows and Whitney Place provide consistency and reliability in facilities, amenities, food, staff and grounds, all in a very convenient location, walking distance to restaurants and shopping. If you are seeking immediate care for your loved one(s), or just starting to plan, contact Sherry [removed] at 508-898-43490, Ext 3727 to see 1st hand why The Willows and Whitney Place should be your choice for Independent and Assisted Living inside our region. And if your situation is complicated, requires fast action, and/or you are challenged with relocation in addition to elder care, reach out to Deb [removed] at Geriatric Resource Centre: [removed] Providing care for your elder family members is not easy, NO matter what your situation is. Take some of the burden off of yourself and contact professionals from the start. [removed]

Could not ask for more

What most impressed me about Whitney Place is that by the time my parents moved in, they already felt like part of the Whitney family. And with our own family members being spread out all over the country it was very important that we feel comfortable that our parents were making the right decision and in the right place. Now that Whitney Place is their home, its our home, too. It truly is like a little neighborhood where all the residents know one another, visit together and do for each other. The food is great - we're all on a first name basis with the director of kitchen services, his staff is super accommodating and love what they do. Patience is the hallmark of the nursing staff and aides and believe me, we've tested their patience! The front office administration will bend over backwards to help with anything no matter how crazy the request. My siblings and I have such a sense of relief and peace of mind now, knowing that our parents are so well cared for and love where they live. We absolutely could not have asked for a better situation, a more caring group of caregivers from soup to nuts. We all talk about how we are going to be moving into Whitney Place in a few years! I can't wait.

Whitney Place - The Right Decision

At Whitney Place, the Tapestry Program for seniors with memory loss has been a caring and helpful experience for my Mother. She shares a companion suite with her "new friend" after many years living alone. The well-trained staff and management team provide a variety of activities and outings that make everyone happy! The food is good; the facility and grounds are clean and beautiful. I would choose it for myself!

Review for The Willows at Worcester

My mom is very happy. She likes the people there and is starting to join in on some of the activities and has enjoyed them so far. She said the food is good. The staff have been helpful and accommodating. Her 2 bedroom is perfect for her. She is able to have her craft space and a space for guests. She is glad she moved to the willows.

Review for Whitney Place at Medway

Whitney Place is a beautiful community. The dementia unit, called Tapestry, is quite large. There are uncluttered hallways for patients to walk, no areas where someone may get lost. Patients have two dining areas with assistance in both. Staffing, like aides, are limited and sometimes difficult to find. Staff has a tendency to group patients together in the dining areas so they can watch them. Nurses are located in their office except when passing medication. Dining seems limited, my mother doesn't really like the food but they do encourage fluids during the day. Activities are limited and the patients seem to watch. A lot of residents mill about looking for things to do. Nursing staff is friendly, facility is beautiful. They have raised bed gardens outside but residents aren't out in the area without family or guests. My mom is on hospice currently and they are wonderful keeping us involved. Rooms are large and well lit. They have a quiet room, but have never seen any patients using it with staff.

Overall a nice community, feel confident that our father is safe and being taken care of

Talk through options with [name removed], he's the representative for that part of The Whitney, definitely ask questions, he's a wealth of knowledge and put the answers in writing. Dining options are good, lots of choices, put aside food if they see my father hasn't come to eat, they watch over to make sure everyone is eating. They created a space for my father to eat with other men, similar age and interests. So that was really good to get to meet some people. Activities are good, maybe differentiate the activities. Also, possibly have a priest come to the place for weekly mass or even monthly mass. Another idea, bring in Irish entertainment for St. Patrick's Day.

[name removed] in sales was great to work with and helped close out some issues in the room. She took the time to understand mom's "attitude" and relayed that to the team. She provided info on how to switch to the MD that comes on site, switch to a pharmacy that delivers to the site and laundry service. [name removed] and [name removed], nursing, were great as we transitioned medication over to them. Limited interactions with the aides but always pleasant as I am pleasant to them not knowing if mom is or not.

Home for Life

Every staff member I met was polite and helpful. My Dad (who passed away last month) was very happy that he made the move and never had any complaints about the facility or staff. They did have difficulty keeping their shuttle bus in operation because they couldn't find a long term driver so I ended up driving my Dad to his off site appointments. The feature that sold us (other than proximity) was the availability of both Rehab and Skilled Nursing in the same facility. Dad never used those capabilities but he found it very comforting that he had found a home for the rest of his life.

I would definitely recommend Whitney Place at Medway to others for Memory Care. The staff is very friendly. My mother in law always complained about food, but she loves the food there. Moving her in was a simple process and in due time they learned her needs and they take very good care of her.

Beautiful Facility

Most of the nursing staff is very helpful. I think the front desk and bistro dining area need more experienced folks, but I understand that they are doing their best with labor shortages. The housekeeping in my mother's room is okay. I'm not sure they vacuum often, but her bedsheets are changed weekly which is nice. The nursing staff are good about calling one of our family when something concerns them. The meals are very good, they can sometimes take a long time to come out but we've never had a quality issue. I would recommend this facility to friends and family. It's expensive, but I think it would be difficult to find another place that offers the same level of comfort as this one does.
