This community was nice.

This community was nice. I did not see very many people around due to newer wings in the building. They had good types of care services as well. I don't remember much else about the tour so it's hard to rate them.

Be cautious and do your due diligence before selecting.

They have been ok but had some concerning issues. We are actually looking to move my father soon. He was able to access a bottle of pinesol and drank it causing chemical burns to his mouth. After which they took him to the hospital but were not forthcoming about why they were transporting him. After multiple questions they finally divulged the reason. They have made no attempt at making amends for this and that has caused us to look elsewhere for care.

Would recommend if administrative staff is replaced

When we first arrived, the aides, etc. involved the residents in so many activities. Dancing, playing baseball with pool noodles, singing. It was wonderful. For some reason, all the aides were fired and replaced with 18 year olds, who only wanted to play on their phones. I caught the administrative staff in lies several times, which is not reassuring. They were always understaffed on the memory care side. If it hadn't been for hospice, I would have moved him.

Beware!!!

Check the recent reviews on Google. If I had read the most recent reviews I would NEVER have placed my mother at Traditions!!! This is NOT a "place your loved one" and only visit once a week or less. The families have to be constantly vigilant to make sure their loved one is eating enough, drinking enough, and getting their meds. The communication between staff and families regarding any concerns or sickness has been non existent. Scary for the families to find out their loved one has been sick for a few days and not one word to the contact person. This is NOT a place with a thriving social scene for the residents. If you are looking for stimulating activities for your loved one, this is NOT it.

Medication errors

Mom checked in [date removed]. Right off there have been many medication errors . Also they have a new admin and lots of turn over. We have endured this transition and worked through the problems with medication. Assisted living is not skilled nursing so any including taking blood pressure must be a doctors prescription with parameters . I advise routine checks on your look over ones records to ensure meds are administered properly and reordered before running out. I’m glad to say with new management things are going much better ..

Good location, a welcoming community with room for improvement.

Overall for the experience 3.5. I'm disappointed that for the Level Care charge of [fee removed] that dad is getting the assistance for dressing himself daily and trying to persuade him to try activities and not simply accepting his refusal! I would like to hear when he refuses that the available aides will probe or ask why and explain the importance or "rules" of being clean, doing some activities and trying to have a little fun and not just sitting alone in his room watching tv or constantly napping!

Needs improvement

Communication with staff was a problem. Many times I was given conflicting information and neither the director nor the nurse were available to consult. There was also a definite lack of communication between staff. Repairs such as a broken toilet paper holder took forever despite reminders. I wondered if they thoroughly cleaned the rug in my loved ones room since it smelled like dog.

Trouble with meals. Portions are too small and there are not enough alternative foods for diabetics. Also trash is not picked up daily as promised. Maintenance has been slow to fix things I have reported.

Still adjusting..

My friend is still adjusting to the change. She does not like the food that is served because it is not her style. She does, however, like how clean the place is.

Would not currently recommend

I actually took my mother out and switched facilities. The initial feeling of the place is that it is so quiet like morgue. It is not a full happening facility. I experienced medication errors and high staff turnover including administration changes. My advice would be find a better place. It is in transition and not ready for a 5 star rating

Our tour of Traditions

We toured Traditions Senior Living and Memory Care. The facility was dark and gloomy. The person doing the tour was adamant that my loved one would have to be in the Memory Care section without knowing anything or asking anything about my loved one.

If you would pay your help what they are worth (at least $2.00 an hour more) there would not be such a turnover. Especially bad on weekends.
