I would not recommend this community you should go somewhere else.

Even before Covid, the communication from Admin was poor and the staff to resident ratio was not good. The caregivers were kind and efficient and our mom was relatively independent so we kept her on the assisted living side of the facility. With Covid, we were at the mercy of Lakeshore to ensure she was being cared for as we weren't allowed inside the building for almost an entire year. As our mother's memory declined, we called her daily to check because she was basically quarantined for months in a room totally alone. She would comment that multiple food trays were beside her bed and there were no towels hanging in the bathroom to indicate bathing was being done. Once I was allowed inside (they knew I was coming), I found her room and living conditions to be poor. Multiple food trays out, bathroom and sheets not clean, ants on her countertop and the smell was terrible due to old food. We moved her out as soon as we could. If your loved one is relatively independent, Lakeshore is fine. If your loved one needs assistance, you may be dissatisfied as we were.

When Covid hit, we were at the mercy of the facility to ensure our mother was being cared for. For close to a year, we weren't allowed inside her room and visitation was very low (sometimes through a window and some outside on the patio). Once we were allowed inside, we quickly discovered her care was minimal at best based on the her physically and the conditions of her room - food trays left for multiple days, dirty sheets and the smell was terrible. If your loved one is relatively independent then Lakeshore would be ok. If your loved one requires any assistance, then they will not likely get what they need due to low staff to resident ratio.

My father has been at this facility for the past 2 1/2 years and it has gone thru 3 directors. They have no organization, no hired cleaning crew, no maintenance man, his toilet has leaked for 3 weeks and they keep promising they will fix it but they do not, I have now reached out to the state concerning the safety of this facility. One newer shower had not worked for 2 months. I might have to move my father if it continues to get worse. Not enough staff. My dad's sheets might not get changed for 3 weeks.

It’s taken me a couple months to be able to write this review. I try to keep things positive however I would feel guilty not expressing my concerns about the quality of care being provided. My mother lived at Park Place Assisted Living for a couple years and things were great in the beginning but once COVID-19 hit everything changed. Park Place became more like a prison and less like a happy home. My mother felt so isolated, lonely and depressed and was starting to give up on life. It was heartbreaking. After they cut the hours of the staff the quality of the food got so bad I was having to drop off groceries for her at the front gate. I wouldn’t recommend moving anyone into Park Place Assisted Living until they make changes and start caring about the residents. In the end they didn’t care about my mother. All they cared about was making money.

The community told us that they would have nutritious food for my loved one, and it were small meals. I was so surprised. The menu wasn't even what they were serving. I feel they didn't review my loved one's chart and served her the wrong food, since she didn't eat specific food. I ended up taking my loved out after two months.

Can’t review cleanliness etc since we could not enter (Covid). I have told two people looking for a place for their loved one to look elsewhere. Mine died from severe dehydration. I have to assume he got zero assistance in holding a cup etc. The staff is super nice which makes it hard to be brutally honest.

It was once good. Now very bad. Food not for people.

I was not impressed with my visit / tour of Windsor Court in Weatherford a few week ago. We were shown a couple of the Independent Apartments both still had personal belongings in them from residents, this made it a bit uncomfortable. I would not want my family member to be shown this type of respect of their personal property. As we had questions afterwards took several calls to the office staff to get answers.

1 star, facility not informed on Respite care process and contact person named, I was told no one there had even heard of her. Wasted time

I moved my mother to Cedar Hills in late 2018 and the care is far below what was promised. The monthly cost is low compared to other facilities. The Executive Director recently left after being there for less than 1 year. The emergency alert pull cord has not been working in my mothers room for over 2 months. We have filed 2 complaints about staff which were addressed very quickly. The food is of minimal nutrition. I do not plan to keep my mother at this facility due to the negligent care that they provide.

Caution: Do not send your loved ones to live and be cared for to this facility. I found [name removed], clearly a resident with memory care needs, on the street in front of the facility on [date removed]. This is a busy street, there was morning traffic, and she was in her wheel chair struggling to cross the street. By the time I made a U-turn in my car, she was in the street and I had to park and take her back inside the facility. The staff hadn’t even realized she was gone. When I found a staff representative, they explained her security bracelet was broken and on back order. They knew she was a wanderer and had no back-up plan in place to keep [name removed] safe and from leaving the building! I’ve spoken twice to the director, [name removed], and she said legally they didn’t need to have a gate around their facility, since they were not a memory care facility. She told me they filed a report which would go to the state, that [name removed]’s case worker had been notified, and [name removed]’s son. I asked her to tell the son to call me in order to be sure her family was notified. I never received a call, so I question what has been communicated. I would NEVER allow my loved ones to live here.

Terrible facility. Poorly managed. Not very clean. Toured it and chose not to put my family member here.

July 2018 - DO NOT USE THIS FACILITY!! While it may have been a decent facility WAY BACK WHEN, it is now deplorable. The recent staff change has only made it worse. The carpets are filthy, the food is horrible, the staff is inadequate to provide for the residents, the manager lies about the conditions, if a resident begins to voice their unhappiness and/or treatment, the consequences are fast and swift. The residents are at the mercy of bad management and poor living conditions. Do not leave your loved one there.

My mother lives here. The facilities are filthy and poorly maintained. It is poorly staffed with medical technicians. My mother had to wait over an hour for pain medications. The food is horrible. Most residents ask for sandwiches because it is the only edible meal they can tolerate. The management staff will smile and give you lip service, but they care very little about the opinions or concerns of the residents or their families. All the room deodorizers in the world can not mask the stench from the facility or the attitudes of those running this place. I've complained multiple times, only to have our concerns ignored. Instead, my mother suffers further from their indifference. Whatever you do, don't leave your loved one here!

There are not enough words to describe how bad this place is from the understaffed caregivers, the cleanliness of the place, to the rudeness of the office staff. The entire set up of the place is lousy for extra activities or friendships outside of their own unit to be made. Do not send your loved one here.

A horrible place. My elderly friend was a resident there for over 10 years. It has gone down hill every year she was there. There is not nearly enough caregivers to assist the residence. Because of this some of the caregivers are short and impatient with the residence. The cleanliness of this place is nasty. It looked like my friends room was never cleaned. Her toilet always had dried on waste product. You could write your name on her windowsills. Towels were old, and always dirty looking. The office staff was rude and had no desire to assist the residence. The set up of the place looks inviting at first glance, but if you observe it further, it is not real conducive for older people. They have to go outside (not a good thing in the dead of winter in Reno) to go to the gathering room for special events. Friendships therefore are pretty limited to the housing unit they are established in. This is not a place for a loved one.

I can’t speak to what the assisted living side is like here, but I took a tour of the memory care unity and it was the most depressing place I’ve ever seen in my life. I think they had the residents so medicated and [Removed], they were like [Removed]. Everything was dark and depressing and just awful. The staff was okay but the overall feeling of the facility was just a terrible.

I went on a tour here and it was dirty and creepy feeling. The staff was nice and answered my questions. This was not mobile friendly. It just wasn't hospitable. I recommend families tour several places before choosing a place.

We toured here while looking for a new place for ourselves, and to be honest, I felt that I couldn't get out of here fast enough. We had a meal here, and the food was fine, but the halls were dark, the ceilings were low, and I was uncomfortable with the obvious cliques throughout the community. The staff were friendly enough, but they just didn't seem to have a genuine warmth about them. This was just not the right place for us.
