Liked the facility very much. Warm welcoming staff. Clean. Nicely contained. Different levels of care.

After searching a number of care homes, we decided on Lo Har Gardens. This is a small community with a very caring staff. My mother in Law who has dementia as well as Parkinson's disease has settled in very well, and seems to be very happy. The home is no more than 15 minutes away from all her family, so she gets plenty of visiters. The staff are very caring, and take very good care of her. We are very pleased with the facility, and would have no problem in recommending it to anyone who wants information.

Great place, friendly staff!

Facility was fairly clean. Staff was friendly. Jill was slightly delayed in arriving at the facility but Garri (front desk) was kind enough to give me a tour. Smaller facility. Well set-up U-shape. Memory care separate but very well set-up. Jill was able to provide me information on a Veteran's Assistance program that appears could be very helpful. Location secluded but appears to be very secure.

It's fine, it works for us. People are different so some of the staff are friendlier than others. I can't really rate value, I don't feel it's a fair question. We are also not in a position to use the activities so that is another area that cannot be rated. The food varies based on who is cooking it.

They could always have another aide. It seems like there could always be more help, I think they do the best they can with what they have. They are very concientious. It fit my need of advanced alzheimers care without going to a nursing home. All in all they are doing a good job.

We liked, but they didn't have anything available. It was our second choice. I didn't like that they had a pool because my mother couldn't swim at all, but did like that place. We contacted when we were ready to move, and it's unfortunate that they were full. We didn't like the building as much - it had a 50's or 60 apartment type look. Not a bad thing, it looked surprisingly nicer inside than outside. Outside looked like a regular old apartment.

Moving in was smooth and the transition was easier than I expected. The staff was very helpful, always cheerful and there to get mom acquainted with her new surroundings. This is a good fit for mom and she seems to be comfortable. A truly wonderful place to have available to properly care for mom. Thank you!

Needed a place that was single story and had staff 24/7 for Mom. Was living in too much house, too often by herself. This place was recommended by "A Place for Mom" and my sister knew of it as it was nearby to her house. My Mom visited and found the place acceptable and the staff very friendly and helpful. She is still adjusting to living around people her own age (she insists they are all older than her). She is gradually settling in and realizing that these people are her generation and since it is an assisted living facility and not a convalescent or rehabilitation facility, the residents are more like her than not.

I'm not even here 3 months but the place itself is doing quite well. They're good to me, I'm the type of person where I do as much as I can, but phsycially I can't do what I did when I was 35, if I need something I call them up and it gets taken care of. The manager in this particular area said that they would help me hang some of my heavier pictures and the guys came in to do it. They're good here and their price is reasonable from what I have seen, this pretty much fits what I need. I'ts good food, this is not exactly the fanciest place like Paris or New York City, but the food is good and it's always there so to speak. Lunch, half the time I don't eat it, after a good breakfast I'm not too hungry but dinner is good. If anything, this place will get better the longer I'm here. This morning I took a scheduled but trip into town to Walmart; they take you there and tell you want time they'll be leaving (they give you a weekly schedule) and then they bring people back in 2 shifts, the drivers themselves actually know most of the people who go on these trips so no one gets left behind. There's some minor things, but there's no big things. It looks like managements taken care of it, they had some problems in the dining room with the slowness of food being served and some things not being in stock that are on the menu, then the director of food services resigned so they took care of that. They have those alert buttons in the bathroom and on the wall above the bed and they ask that when you wake up to push it so they know you're up and about. I accidentaly pressed the one in the bathroom and withing 5 minutes a man on the night shift came in to check on me, it's good to know that it's there.

We like it. My parents are very happy and they're doing a good job taking care of them. They gave us a really good deal so the value is great! The care is really good. I don't know if they have that many activities. My parents are in memory care so they don't do much. I think that is the one way they could improve - maybe they could have more activities for the memory care portion. Other than that, I think it's great. We're very happy with it.

also nice bright rooms - make sure of getting pvt room. other areas decorated nicely. Only slightly concerned about nearby airport.

They have a lot of activities but the rooms are smaller so it's a trade off. They were not bad. It was an older style building, more like hotel or a house back east somewhere. It had the darker wood and hardwood floors but it was a little more stark - no art or anything hanging on the walls. There were lots of activities going on. They have like an activity room but it didn't have the same feel that my mom wanted. It's hard to tell just from a visit. they have a swimming pool which is great for people who do water aerobics but my mom is afraid of the water so that wouldn't do her any good. The facility was wonderful and the people were wonderful but it just wasn't the place for my mom.

This is my father-in-law's 2nd experience at an assisted living center. The other residents here are more outgoing so he has a lot of daily conversation. He really enjoys the happy hour on Friday. The facility itself is smaller which makes it feel more homey. While he complains about the food (he is pretty fussy), he is getting plenty to eat. He has made new friends even though most are women. And the residents watch out for each other. The staff is friendly and even though he is relatively healthy again, they keep an eye on his needs. They dispense his meds appropriately. The cost is the same as his prior place but his experience here is much better. We made the right decision about moving him to Harmony.

This really surprised me, Harmony was a very nice place and my mother liked it a lot. Patricia was very welcoming and gave us a great tour. I liked the fact that the aides are long term, we met one that had been there since Harmony was opened. That really impressed me.

My mother has been there for several years. She has been cared for very well although there has been a high turnover of staff. The dining room facility is lovely, and the food and service are excellent.

The staff had been excellent! It's a horrible thing to have do deal with and the staff has been great. My grandad's not been easy, I know that much. I realize the cost is high but for the care that I'm seeing and for what it takes to take care of him, it's fair. The few problems I've had happen were in the first month. Things like meds that run empty that should have been called in. I think we've pretty much gotten that handled. I thought they'd do a little bit more that what they do as far as activities but my grandad isn't able to participate anyway.

i'm not sure they had enough staff to encourage more participation from the residents, sometimes the sale is more than what they actually provide. I feel they could have used more staff, they didn't have enough for one on one. If your loved one can participate in any group activities and get up and join them, then they can handle anything "group" but they really can't handle one on one. We had to hire someone to come and feed him because everyone else was running around. The activities also are for a certain level of patient, if you're up and about and able to come then you have lots of fun, but if you can't then you're left out.

They're friendly and very helpful. From what I've seen the care services and the activities seem pretty good. I've seen sing a longs and I know they have church services that my step dad attends. They've been trying to work with us pretty well. We're waiting on getting financial assistance from the VA and Hundred Palms has been working with us to make sure we can afford to keep him there until we get some help. They're good with communication. My step father seems very happy and comfortable there which is the most important thing. He's got his own room in what they call a companion suite. There is a walk in closet, a bathroom and a kitchenette and then two separate bedrooms that are a good size.

I've been there twice. Once when my mother was there. Everything seems pretty nice. The staff seem pretty good. Whether my mother likes it doesn't count because she wants to come home. She admitted that she liked it there but everytime I call her she says she wants to go home. I think she's being well taken care of there. When I was visiting her there was bingo going on and I guess there's some other things. I guess she goes out of her room and watches other people and gets some interaction but I don't know how much she participates in things.
