Otterbein Senior Lifestyle Choices

I thought Otterbein Retirement was fantastic. But it was too big, with multiple floors. I felt it would be hard to navigate for my loved one with vision problems. But they had a pool and nice amenities - just things she wouldn't have used. But I think it would be a great place for younger or more active seniors.

I had a terrible nightmare. In the morning of my dream I was shoveling snow. In the afternoon I was mowing lawn. The gutters needed cleaning, the roof needed patching, the furnace needed fixing. Wait! i That was no dream. That was how I lived before we moved to Otterbein. Now, no chores; no worries. We have a beautiful,, safe and comfortable dwelling. There are people all around us who care. They know us personally. They want us to be happy, and they make us so. There are myriads of fun activities, both here and off cam[is to which they will take us. We have friendly neighbors with whom to share the joys of life. No matter what happens, my wife and I are in the right place.

We chose Otterbein because of the cleanliness, friendliness of the staff members, and she was familiar with the location since we grew up on Jefferson Street. The facility itself did not look like an institution, it looked like a nice welcoming place that you want to be. I would recommend to others looking.

My mother loves Otterbein. The apartments are very nice with a patio which she loves! The staff is so very friendly and helpful no what questions you have or situations. So many activities, food very good, "feels like home"!

It is worth coming to Otterbein Retirement Living Community. This place is beautiful and feels like a family. There would be times the orders would be wrong, and they would deliver the food to the residents.

When my mother arrived at Otterbein Cridersville she could not walk to her room or get out of the car without assistance. During her stay she continues to improve. I tried to take her to lunch during her stay and she said "why go out I have such good food right here". my mom is not back home and doing great because of Otterbein Cridersville. I would recommend them to anyone.

Our father loves to participate in their arts and craft classes and the exercise classes. They also have a hair salon on site that our mother likes to use, and we would recommend this community to others.

My experience was just before COVID. We chose Otterbein Retirement Living because of the value and what they had to offer in terms of activities. The apartment sizes here seem to be adequate. Overall, my brother likes a lot of the food, but there are some meals that he doesn't like. I would want others to know that they have a variety of levels of quality in terms of apartments. If you have more money, you are able to get a newer, nicer place. My brother moved into one of the older apartments but they were still fixed up very nice. I would definitely recommend.

I would tell a friend to consider Otterbein Portage Valley. The food is good. The room sizes and layout of the community are fine. The staff is very helpful. There is outdoor space for residents to use.

We chose Emerald Green because they are very clean. The Staff knew the residents by name. The staff went over and above to accommodate our care needs. The food was good. They could use more servers. We were very please with the room sizes. They could easily accommodate a wheelchair.

Came in for a broken leg rehab. Got great help and the upmost respect.Everyone helped me to recover in a friendly atmosphere. The nurses and help know what is happening. Rehab people were kind and help me get back to moving around better than I was before. Thank you Otterbein Senior Life of Lebanon for a job well done

Otterbein was a well kept, clean and bright facility in the main building where my sister and I were looking for my mother's next home. The activities for independent living were impressive. The rooms were clean and bright.

The lobby was lively and both staff and residents were engaged and having fun! Accepts Medicaid waiver; no minimum time private pay. No studios in Independent living. 1 and 2 bedroom apartments. Cable and phone not included. Small dining room.

My family is so pleased with the choice of Otterbein Center for our 92 year old mother. She loves it there! She feels safe and loved. I only wish we had made the decision of moving her there years ago.

My mother moved into Emerald Village in [date removed] . This is a wonderful place. The building and grounds are lovely and kept spotless, the apartments are very nice, the food is excellent and the staff is the best! My brother and I have been more than impressed with the nurses, who endured some verbal abuse from our mom when she first moved in. She was reeling from all the changes in her life (at age 94) and took it out on the nurses as they went about their work of administering her medicines. They responded with professionalism, understanding and compassion. These ladies were so patient and kind! After a while, my mom adjusted, and she now appreciates what a great place EV is. She appreciates the nurses and aides who care for her so well. She says the dining room staff and the ladies who clean her apartment and collect and return her laundry are all friendly and make her feel cared for. My siblings and I feel very fortunate that our mom is at Emerald Village. We have peace of mind, knowing she is safe and well cared for and treated with kindness and respect.

We toured this community for care. We did not like the room would have been on a higher level. They did not have the care that was needed for my mom.The staff were nice and answered the questions. We wanted another lever of care for mom. We would recommend that others tour the community for the options of care that are available.

So far our loved one is settling in quite nicely at Otterbein North Shore. The community is kept very clean and has a homey feel to it. The overall atmosphere is very warm and inviting. They are very welcoming to family members whenever we come to visit. The staff is very friendly and attentive to my mom's care needs. My mom says that she thinks the meals they prepare are good. They offer various activities that they encourage the residents to participate in. Outside are some areas and views for the residents to get out and enjoy the fresh air.We feel mom is being well taken care of and is in a safe environment. I would recommend this community to others.

I am very happy that I moved into this community for care. I like that they are keeping the environment clean and offer a lot of activities. they offer me healthy meals and the staff are willing to be very helpful to my needs. I would recommend others to this community for care.

So far feels the least like a nursing home. No move in scheduled yet. With the "rule" plan seems to be the best deal financially too. Have your own washer and dryer.
