I liked that it was a small setting, not a lot of people in one house and home cooked meals. Considerate, caring, attentive staff. Facility is good. Seems to be kept up fairly well.

Everyone was very friendly and supportive. Administration was a bit slow responding to some questions, but super fast on others. Would definitely recommend the facility.

We toured at Mustang Creek Estates, and I really liked the community a lot. While I liked it, I did not feel it would be the best fit for my loved one. I felt the environment and the small size of the community would not be suitable for her.

I toured at Mustang Creek while looking for a place for my loved one. I thought the community was nice, but I didn’t really care for the set-up of it. The community featured a centralized living and dining area with separate room and bathrooms. It kind of reminded me of a sorority house.

My mom has had a bit of a rough start here, she had to go to the hospital and then rehab but I was very pleased that the staff here, came to visit her while at both. Now that she is back they felt that it would be best to move her to the memory care house which has only 16 residents she has a private room and they even helped move her stuff to her new residenace. Mom is doing very well, she enjoys joining everyone at the dining table, she is eating well and she likes visiting with everyone too. They do keep her busy during the day and are working on different activities to change things around. I would definitely recommend this community.

It is proven to be a cost effective place for my mom. They had let us know that there is change with management, right now it's not the best but I am confident all will get taken care of. The residents wear a necklace with a push button. We had an a/c issue and they accommodated our rent for 7 days. They are responsive with what we need. There are 5 buildings and each one has 15 residents. They have their own kitchen to prepare meals and the 15 residents sit together,it is not cafeteria style. One of their selling points is all the help is included with the rent, not added to the monthly rent or a la carte.

This community seemed clean when I visited. The people I met were nice, however this community was a little more expensive than we were looking for. The food was good. I heard from some people that the staff were not as attentive as they said they were. They seem to be a little understaffed.

The food is terrible and the kitchen is always dirty. Staff needs to be cleaning in idle time. Seems that most of the time there is no staff present in the home unless it's meal time. However, the staff is courteous and helpful when needed. Activities are good and residents seem to like this.

The facility and staff were very nice, polite, and worked with my mom. That was not easy. My mom made it challenging for them, but they continued to try. She was in the Assisted Living Plus building and she was able to get out. The door is not locked. But an alarm will sound when the door is opened without putting in the code first. This place did not meet my mom’s expectation because she came from an Independent Living place and wanted the same accommodations she had there. She complained and had drama everyday so we moved her out. They said they have activities but I never saw any. I did not get to meet the Activities Director. My mom never spoke about any activities when I asked. So that is something I can not give a personal opinion about.

My family member has been at Mustang Creek since mid last year and I was there several days a week making sure that he was well taken care of & that he got settled in. The caretakers are very nice and helpful but you must understand that they aren't nurses (and they don't necessarily think like a nurse either) so they do their best with the training that they received but they don't completely understand that caring for senior citizens is so different because they don't heal as quickly, not all of their symptoms are "just a bug" & go away. I'm learning as I go on this caregiver journey that a fever can actually be a symptom of a UTI, getting physically ill & erratic behavior can be too. Unless you see these things in your family member, it's hard to grasp. That's just a few examples. The caregivers are really caring and they do their best to do all that this job requires, like caring for all of the residents, changing diapers, cooking food, giving medications, doing the laundry of the residents, bathing residents, keeping the house clean, etc. This isn't all their tasks, it's just a peek of what they do, as a family member, you must be available, visit regularly and be your loved ones advocate! They really do need you. That is so important! It doesn't matter what facility that you research, they all have issues that need to be addressed & some are worse than others but you also won't necessarily know until you put your family member there or you see reviews. It's not all negative, please don't think that, it's apparent that each family that has a loved one in any facility, must be there and be their advocate when they need it.

Our biggest complaint is the pharmacy they require us to use. Deliveries come from Carrollton and they have made mistakes, such as leaving out a prescription. I think the small house community is better for elderly people who have memory issues or can be overwhelmed by moving around large facilities. Each resident has a private bedroom and bathroom. But that also reduces the activities and space for doing things. The care givers get to know them very well but like all facilities they have a high turn over rate. Mustang Creek has been a good place for my mom and dad.

They have improved since we moved her in but initially we had issues mainly with inattentive staff. I would move some to a 4 after the changes were made. I had to complain about the smell of urine every time we went there initially due to them not toileting the residents. That has vastly improved. I would recommend them at this point. They have been responsive to complaints and taking care of the things that we have asked them to take care of. I would have preferred not to have to complain, but the fact that they fix the problems is a good thing.

We had a rough start. Medications were not available upon move in. Staff told us we had to administer Medications until their pharmacy provided the Medications. Communication is only done when the family approaches. Showers and toileting are not done as stated in the care plan. Showers 3 times a week and toileting every two hours. Activities not done as per the calendar. Staff do not appear to be adequately trained.

I would recommend to others that need a budget friendly option. It's not a perfect place and employees are disgruntled with management so that makes it difficult at times. Management says they are putting procedures in place to change that but the residents do feel the effects. I would pursue other options if I was able to pay more. We picked them because of the price and it is one mile from my home

I loved that they had a flat rate that was inclusive of the care that was needed. They were disorganized on the communication and care regiment. Yes, I would recommend this community to other families because of the price

The experience with Mustang Creek Estates was ridiculous, they charged us so much money & my mom was there for like 10 days maybe.... and we ended up paying over [amount removed] for those few days & then they had the nerve to send me another bill after that for [amount removed] & I refused to pay anymore & I was threatened that I would be sued. I payed it. I will never deal with that place again. It was the Director that was in charge, that woman is a nut job. She has since left there & gone somewhere else but I will never deal with that woman ever again anywhere. She is one of those kind that knows everything about everything & doesn't care what you have to say or what you know.

They could improve on staffing, lots of turnover but that's in every healthcare field these days. The staff they do have that has been there are great! Very caring and accommodating.

I would say it's "ok" if your loved one doesn't need much care at all, otherwise they are not the facility I would choose. The director will "assess" which house of care your family member belongs in but she put my mom with Alzheimer's in type A housing with all assisted living residents. There is way too much employee turnover, they lost my mom's medication, didn't inform me she fell and hit her head until I walked in and saw her black eye. It is the cheapest facility around but you definitely get what you pay for. I absolutely would NEVER recommend Mustang Creek to anybody.

Communication has been the biggest issue. I live in Florida and I was told I would be notified if my grandmother was getting low on anything. Yet she ran out of supplies before I was notified. The director is impossible to get a hold of unless I email the customer service line and get someone else involved. There have been issues with items disappearing but the staff has been able to locate them. I purchased a mattress protector but was removed and thus the mattress ruined. Overall my grandma has been clean, well fed and seemed happy when I visited or had others visit. Ultimately it's a good value but you do get what you pay for.

We were promised a lot more care than we're getting. I know they're busy, but the weekend staff is super bad. My loved one complains about them all the time. The weekday staff is good. I would rate the weekday staff at a 4, but the weekend staff at a 1. I do like the smaller houses, so only 12 residents in a house. [Name removed] is awesome, she works second shift. [Name removed] works first shift in house E and is wonderful.[Name removed] is the Director. She says all the right things, but I haven't seen any action out of her. The two meetings I had scheduled with her got canceled by her. I have spoken on the phone with her multiple times, but it's all lip service. Nothing has amounted to anything. [Name removed] is the nurse practitioner. I have spoken with her a couple of times on the phone. I had very high hopes, but there's been no action in weeks. I'm incredibly disappointed in the food for the price. The food is crap, especially for what we're paying. It's all processed crap, no homemade meals, lots of sandwiches! I've seen very few vegetables. Part of the reason I put my loved one there was because he wasn't taking medication. They allow him to refuse medication, so he's not taking any.

Staff is great! They are making changes for the better, there is a nurse on staff during the week. They really care about the residents. The housekeeping is ok, they are working on getting better. The meals are good. Moving in was amazing!, staff was so helpful. I would recommend Mustang Creek.
