It is a wonderful place! It's half the price of where she was at before and that place was awful! It's much more of a retirement community. They really don't do much in house in terms of care, although they do laundry, sheets and towels. They have all kinds of activities: Crafts, exercise classes, and entertainers come in. The food is prepared by three chefs, and it is fresh and different. Really good. There are four managers that live on the property. My mom is 95, but there are active 75-year-olds that are up and about, going on trips and outings. My mom gets to talk to all these people and really engage with them, whereas before she was the most mentally aware person. It is classy; It is just a whole level above anywhere else.

That has been real well, unfortunately mom is not doing real well. We have trouble getting her to drink fluids, and she's getting dehydrated. I've been talking to management to get an agency or some facility that can go in and help more on a professional basis. Overall it is a great place but if we can't keep fluids and she keeps failing and she will have to move out and into more of a nursing facility. they are just lovely people. So friendly and so willing to work with whatever our needs are. As people get older they have problems doing something as simple as doing water. She is in the independent living, and my understanding is that it is independent with minimal assistance. They will help to a degree of assisting her, but when it gets to a point we would have to go into a nursing care.

I really liked this place. I'd move there as soon as my home was ready to vacate. Have to wait for hubby's opinion.

Although my sister has not yet moved in, (December 20th is her planned arrival) we were both impressed with both the appearance and the staff of the facility. After touring all of the areas available for use, we were invited to stay for lunch. The dining room was so cozy and decorated for Thanksgiving. The food was very good and was served by a friendly staff. I think that everyone will make her feel welcome and to help my sister overcome her shyness.

They provide three meals a day and have a service bar that offers hot drinks and water or lemonade and snacks. They have a slew of activities going on, if I didn't have my own house I would want to live there. They have movie night and bingo and puzzles and crafts, and once a month they even have a themed luncheon. It's a great place. I chose it based on the affordability, the geographic location, and the services offered. The apartments are really nice and cute, and they have a bright cheery atmosphere. The sales team was very helpful. Sometimes there are maintenance things like upkeep that could be done, but I don't think in the spectrum of things that is a very big thing. The managers are always there helping out. They live right on site and are kind of the trouble shooters for the community. There was no waiting list. Everything is included, meals, special activities, rides to the docter, the grocery store, and even scenic drives. It's situated where you drive over a beautiful reservoir, it looks rural with lots of trees in the area. They have a carport to keep your car under the shelter.

It's wonderful! We love it! what a saving grace! It saved my sisters life. What they charge for what they offer is great. They have a lot of activities and they are very affordable. You do need to be very independent. She came from a nursing home and had blood counts that were in the gutter, and with two weeks of getting rest and food and support from the family and the community all of her blood tests have come back so much better.

my mom and dad feel so fortunate to be at the gables - mom says it's like being at the ritz! dining room with soaring ceiling - and 3 great meals/day! high ceilings in rooms / distant country views / pond for fishing / and a multitude of activities to keep them engaged. all run by such friendly, live-in administration! i am comforted knowing that they are not uncomfortably displaced from their home of 46 years, but rather feel at-home already - their old possessions fitting in amazingly well helped greatly in this transition. they - and all of us sisters - feel they deserve this stylish and safe retirement home. thank you from alllll of us!!!

We love it! Everything is excellent there. My aunt who lives there and she's doing well. She's 95 and she thinks she has her old life back. She fell four years ago and has needed a lot of help but she's flourishing there! She was a musician so she sings with a choral group there. She participates in anything that's musical. She's not complaining that she's bored. She likes the food because they gather everyone together so it's like social time for people. She's not feeling isolated at all. I'm, thoroughly impressed with The Gables. I know it's independent living but there is a nursing situation there, just not run by The Gables. It's part of the reason I don't have to go so much - because they take really good care of her. She has a much larger apartment here than the last place. It's as though the outside is inside. It's very open with lots of light coming in, a nice kitchenette, and lots of storage. When we walked in to see the apartment she just lit up.

Great place and location.

It was awesome, the food, the cleanliness, the management was wonderful. A couple of things happened and I thought everything was professional and I just think it's wonderful, in fact I would recommend them. They were really good as far as activities, they were trying to include her but mom's not very social; I am, so I made some friends over there but people really liked the activities and the activity director was really nice and she was really supportive.

My first experience was a phone call from the manager, Larry Foster. He invited me and my parents down, and said whether or not they were a fit for his facility, he would like to remain a source for my use in finding a place for mom and dad. The rest is history. We are most impressed with the care taken to assure my parents are at meals and blending into the activities provided. As yet, my parents are still in the intro phase and not taking advantage of the many activities, but I know in time they will. This has been shared with me by other residents children. They are able to maintain a feel of independent living while assisted care is available. A win for us all!

Super sweet and kind gal gave us the tour and it was perfect for him, but too high for his price range. May need to move here in the future though as his needs grow.

We also visited this facility and also liked it. Both places would work well for our parents. We just have to get their finances in order before we make a decision.

We took a tour of this facility with Melanie. She was such a wonderful tour guide and took the time to listen to my 93 year old Grandmother. Melanie made us feel like we were at home and was such a wonderful experience for my Grandma. Thank you so much for your time, patience and the awesome restaurant style lunch!! Thanks Melanie :)

They really are great. The staff is perfect. Grandma loves the food and they have adequate services like if she needs wheelchair pushing or things like that. It's a nice place. They've got everything. They have a chapel and church services, an on-site hair dresser and beauty salon, billiards - they've got a full activity list for each day of bowling and that kind of thing. They keep them busy. It really is good. I highly recommend it.

I think it's a good value. Everything seems to be good. I haven't been there for the acitivities but my parents seem to be enjoying them. They have music and some kind of social on Wednesdays. The food is good almost all the time. I would say 90% of the time my parents are happy with the food. It's a really nice place for the price.

We're going to have to move her because her memory's starting to go but they were very nice to her here. They were friendly, there were activities all the time and we had no problems with Essington whatsoever. They just really don't have security at nighttime so she could just walk out of the building, she really needs more of an assisted living type place but we had no problems here.

All the people are very nice here, the workers, the residents, everyone is just so nice. They are all just very pleasant. The only thing I think they could do more is outside activities, I know they take them to the Wal-Mart and things like that but I would like to see more field trips. I would recommend this community to anyone.

They are a very wonderful community. The staff is helpful and very friendly. They have plenty of activities but our loved one just hasn't wanted to get involved yet. We are very pleased with them and would highly recommend them to anyone.
