Can't turn the AC/Heat on when needed

If you plan on living here just realize when the weather changes they will not be able to turn the heat or AC on until they feel like it. If it is spring and the weather is 90 degrees outside you have to deal with it, with absolutely NO AC. If it is fall and it is cold outside, like 30 degrees you HAVE to deal with it. NO HEAT whatsoever. In fact they don't mind the elderly suffering, not being able to use their stove during the day, not being able to sleep at night, and even sweating just sitting there so you have to change your clothes twice a day because it is too hot. Their reasoning, "It's only a few days" of torture. The elderly have lived so long that they can deal with torture for a few days I guess. The liability of this is not enough to worry them, in fact, they think it is perfectly normal, even during a PANDEMIC, when you can barely leave your apartment, to keep your room at 90 degrees since it is "too much work" to switch it from AC to HEAT or vice versa.... YIKES!

Horrible place for the elderly

If I could provide a NEGATIVE star rating, I would. This place is HORRIBLE. Do NOT place your loved ones here!!!! I researched 10 different facilities in the Gwinnett County area and choose this one because of the activities and the "fake" comfort that was sold to us when visiting by [name removed]. The director, [name removed], is awful at returning emails and voicemails. My father died there back in [date removed], that basically stemmed from 2 broken hips that occurred in the memory unit in the matter of 5 months. He was 81 when he passed and had NEVER broken a bone before in his life. The neglect there is like a slap in my face and to my parents also. All the center wants is the MONEY, which certainly isn't used to pay the care staff a decent wage, so you get what you get there in staffing - some good, most awful. When I went to collect my deceased father's items and my living mother's items from the Memory Unit, we noticed that several expensive things were "missing"....really stolen. Like my mother's diamond earrings or her gold necklace or my father's Alexa or his wheelchair, a whole freaking single bed was thrown away. There are so many others things missing, but you get the point. Again, do yourself a favor and your loved ones, go somewhere else.

BBB Rated F

Overpriced for the quality of apt. space and finishes. This company has a "F" rating with BBB for a reason. Monthly statements are padding with extra charges even though the rental rates are calculated - reference the "Seven Dimensions of Wellness" included in the monthly rate. NO reasonable concessions for reduction in rent even though Greystar has not delivered on the "Seven Dimensions of Wellness" for the past 5 months and is pocketing the profits! Staff does not maintain preventive maintenance or cleanliness expected for "resort style living". Activities pre-Covid-19 shut down hosted by Greystar site staff were not well hosted and offered meager offerings of cheap food and beverages. Leasing staff sit around but don't do much cleaning. Chaise lounges and surfaces are always filthy, palm trees and plantings barely alive. Leasing staff are not to be trusted - if you want to renew your lease you have to hound the staff for renewal details and they offer incentives (awful and NOT competitive for the market and building that is barely 60% full)) and apt. transfer deals then rescind the offer and you are stuck because it's too late to give 60 day notice to move elsewhere. Median age of residents is 85 and many with psychotic, frail health or wandering about lost and cannot find their apts. Emergency after hours service line is often not answered. Not a Secure or Safe place for you or your loved one. Greystar promised activities and outdoor games (land and water) but fail to follow through. Most active 55+ are so unhappy and planning to move out unless Greystar leadership corrects the issues. Leasing staff will tell you what you want to hear but be VERY wary as they omit the truth and embellish on what little they deliver.

Overture Providence is a mistake

Overture Providence is a joke. “The check is in the mail” is exactly how Overture Providence works. Nothing ever gets done, nothing ever gets resolved, and nothing ever goes right. The management, [name removed], is the worst so called manager there is on earth. I had to go over her head to get anything accomplished. The minute I stepped into this horrible place, I realized I had made a big mistake. There is nobody really running the building except the maintenance staff and the garbage pickup. There is nothing that suggests that this building is a 55+ residency.- NOTHING. Thank God I only stayed two months. I was ready to leave the first day. The only thing that did not go wrong were the appliances. The rent is ridiculous for this city. We were actually paying for the horrible breakfasts in the morning which I never participated in. The Continental Breakfast is packaged food, all carbs, no nutrition. I would never have my mother come to this pathetic place.

Bad management

They are really nice until they get their money. Then management is just downright rude. My mother and father are 87 and weren’t felling well on move in day. They won’t give you the keys until your appointment even though your paying rent for that whole day you can’t get keys until after 11 am. Or later depending on your appointment time. They made me make repeated trips to go get her to sign documents even though I told them to have her sign everything the first trip so she could go home to rest. They expect you to unload your heavy furniture from the uncovered parking which is several buildings over. They harassed and threatened the whole 4 day move in then stole the direct tv disk stating it’s not allowed unless your grandfathered in. The leasing agent said she could get Cox or direct tv then they said you can’t get Direct TV after we had it installed. I was unloading my handicapped father and his scooter as close to the ramp to the apartment since he has Parkinson’s Disease and is very shaky and manager started screaming at me to move Immediately even though I wasn’t blocking anyone at the time. There are no handicapped parking spots for him which is required by law. They would not give a reasonable accommodation to allow me to unload him where he could get access to his home. He served in 2 wars with PTSD and has a service dog. They are requiring him to get a doctor letter to prove the dog is for emotional support which he can’t get for another two weeks because it’s hard to get an appointment. In the meantime they are being charged extra $350 plus $25 month until he can prove it. Their account shows a balance of over $700 as of today even though everything was paid when they signed the lease documents and received keys two days ago. Don’t move into this place you will regret it. It’s a nightmare once you sign on the dotted line.

Staff is horribly direspectful here.

I moved in the end of last month. Already the impression I get from office staff is that of negativity. 3 of 4. One of which, has never spoken, even to introduce herself, the manager (name??). The assist. mgr. (name??) has absolutely no people skills and a very bad attitude. As well as, being unfriendly, condescending, arrogant, rude, disrespect, and unprofessional. [Name removed], I thought was ok until I requesting maintenance to replace toilet. She actually stated the cost of a new toilet, just over $100. This was incredulous. I half thought she figured I had to pay it. I replied with the high price I pay for rent here. Clearly not worth it. Contemplating moving. All of my money will have to be refunded in full.

This community is a year and half old has already changed ownership. Apartments were very nice and spacious and light. Continental breakfast and no meal plans are currently offered on site. They've also sold the bus and now suggest to the residents to call Uber for transportation needs. This community felt more like an apartment community versus an independent senior living residence. Friendly staff, however, overall disappointing.

New Management Nickle & Dimes the Residents

New owners (Overture) & Greystar 55+ in 2016-17. (Dropped the "At" from the Destinations "at" Pebble from name. Came on board with a big splash--painted the buildings, replaced burnt out exterior lights, and added a few flowers. Clubhouse had been renovated in 2016 & was closed for months. First thing new owners did was to create a 34 PAGE LEASE, & then substantially raise the apartment rents--about $50 per month. Then, they shut down the Clubhouse (again) for RE-remodeling. Next, they slowly began to pass on costs, ()customarily paid for by a rental property), on to the tenants. First, it was $10 per month more for sewer & water. Then it was $20, plus $10 more for trash. (And, don't forget you still have your own gas, electric, phone & cable bills to deal with.) This past year, the extra costs were based on the size of the apartment--not by the number of occupants. So, if only ONE person resides in a two bed-two bath apartment, they now pay an $60 EXTRA per month, PLUS the rent, & all their other utilities. Remember, this is a 55+ COMMUNITY & many residents are on limited or fixed incomes. Just recently heard a rumor that new residents are now being charged a MANDATORY one-time $750 "resort" fee for use of the clubhouse, exercise room & pool. Wonder what the monthly rent is actually covering because the apartments are just so-so and rather small. Maintenance also leaves a lot to be desired. Very unskilled. Very bad about letting the resident know that they had been in their apartment to fix problems. Work orders that require an outside vendor (which seems to be most of the time) never seem to get done--even after repeated requests are made to the office. According to their files, there are NEVER any open work orders--even though you know what you had personally asked for is still not done. I'm not sure why, but this particular property seems to be the only one of several Greystar 55+ properties that has a lot of negative reviews--& they are not all recent ones. Bad reviews go back for years. Maybe it's the overall on-site management & maintenance, because it certainly is not because of the location.--that's one of it's better features.

Don't be fooled...

My family member has resided at Noble Village for several years now and we are not impressed with their services. The facilities are very pretty but if you look closely, they are not always clean. The staff does very little "assisted" living tasks and are slow to respond to calls. The good staff that cares and is helpful does not usually last very long and it seems that most of the current staff is very lazy. Unfortunately, they do not live up to the expectations and I'm not really sure that a great place actually exists.

Discovery Village is Disgusting Village

Discovery Village v should be called Disgusting Dirty Village. they have only no one housekeeper working today they never came to clean my apartment this week. Other residents are complaining. The floors are filthy and someone left a dirty plastic glove in the elevator. They are always short on food. This week I ordered shrimp cocktail, a steak and they didn’t have any. They ran out of milk and butter. It is disgraceful and disgusting. Two staff members just quit and residents are moving out!! You don’t want to come here for a tour they lie about everything! They hired movers for me who did a terrible job and now refuse to pay for the damages they made to my furniture. Do not let them hire Your Smooth Moves for you they were the worst movers I ever used!!!!

I live here presently. It has been a horrendous experience. My apartment was not move in ready when I came, they had ruined the flooring and poured polyurethane on it so I could not stay in the apartment. they tried to give me another apartment, but it was worse, it was old, musty and they had an ionizer on that made the smell worse than the first one. So i walked the halls all night because they do not have anyone working at the front desk at night. *discovery village said they would pay for the movers, but hired the worst company ever. the movers packed my 1 bedroom apartment and disappeared until 1:30a.m in the morning so I couldnt get my stuff. If you are thinking of moving here, DO NOT USE MOVES FOR SENIORS WHATEVER YOU DO, EVEN IF THEY OFFER TO PAY. They had contract movers come and they literally threw my stuff in their dirty, filthy, gross basement which they called a "storage unit" and damaged so many of my things. It took almost a month to get my things out of there, and I had to hire different movers to do the job. now, they are unwilling to pay for my damages since no one is calling me back. it is a very bad company. That was only my move. the food here is AWFUL! during the week, their cook [name removed] burns everything, doesnt know how to cook and most people send food back. Most of the residents and staff know how bad his food is. On the weekends they have a wonderful chef who comes and is an amazing Chef, so I dont know why they keep the guy during the week, its terrible. they have a pool that you cannot get into, if you look at the picture on the website it has no bar to hold onto to get into the water. the director told me he would have a "water walker" when I moved in, and that took a month to get. I live in assisted living and I need care, and the director decided i dont need any help and claims he did an assessment on me while we were having lunch with 4 other people and he never asked me any questions. thats because he didnt have a wellness director at the time. i have asked for help getting into the shower, an he and the new wellness person claim i dont need it so I had to call the ombudsman and my doctor to file a complaint. this is just a terrible place, so if you want my advice run, run, run FAR AWAY.

HORRIBLE PLACE-DONT BRING YOUR LOVED ONES HERE

Discovery Village at Sugarloaf is HORRIBLE!! My mother walked into the Memory Care Unit in January 2020 with mid-stage Alzheimer's Disease-by June 2020 she died. I visited my mother EVERY DAY to the dismay of the Executive Director [name removed] and many of the staff, What they sell you with the Shine program and the calendar of activities is ALL A LIE. There was often not enough staff to conduct the activities as listed on the activities calendar. If it wasn't for me and my family coming every day, my mother would not have left the Memory Care Unit. Often times other seniors in this unit would BEG me and my family to take them out with my mother. I came one night to tuck my mother in and I turned down her bed and to my horror I realized her sheets had not been changed in over ONE MONTH. It had layer, upon layer of urine stains and was still wet. There were times when I went for breakfast and my mother was at the table with NO DENTURES in her mouth. During the cold winter months the Memory Care Unit had NO HEAT and NEVER NOTIFIED FAMILIES of the situation. Staff kept their coats on for their entire shift. I had to bring in a heater to make sure my mother was warm. There is a special place in HELL for [name removed]. I would say he is a racist, but after talking with other families-he simply just does not care. I've written numerous reviews that keep getting deleted. But I will continue to share my experience until change occurs. After COVID hit and I was no longer able to visit my mother, she took a turn for the worse. She went from walking to being wheel chair bound! She was eventually sent to the hospital, a day after I came to see her through a glass window and noticed that she was slumped over. The hospital could only find that she was SEVERLY DEHYDRATED. The decision I made to bring her home, was the best decision I could have made. I was told that I couldn't come in to get her things until families were able to return. After two months I showed up and to my horror my mothers things were placed outside, her refrigerator was filled with the aloe water I provided and MAGGOTS. Her mattress had so many urine stains, we left it there. They discarded her and her things, THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE!!!!
