The community is a fun place to live. The rooms sizes are small I have a 2 bedroom. The activities are great we have exercise, line dancing, coloring, painting, poker games, bingo, and water aerobics. I would recommend this community.

We chose Discovery Village because when we walked in the door the appearance is nice. They took us around, we LOVED the room they suggested she go in in independent living. The also took us around to some of the residents and they were very friendly which made my mother feel good, so she actually chose the facility. Within 2 weeks, we moved her to assisted living. My biggest complaint is the director. He is very nice but he is not good at communicating with families. It is hard to get a response from here. I would recommend the community as long as their family member could communicate with them and tell them how they feel and how they are doing.

We do think they have done a very good job with maintaining the cleanliness of the community. The staff that I have spoken with seem to be very helpful and friendly. The care is good and they have done their best to stay on top of things. We do think Discovery Village At Sugarloaf is a little expensive. The food quality is also not very good and they have had problems in the past with keeping medications correctly distributed.

My mother has recently moved into this community and even though she has had a tough time adjusting we are happy with how things are going overall. The staff have been pleasant to work with and very helpful to my mothers needs. She enjoys playing bingo and is looking forward to going on some of the trips with the other residents. The only thing I would say needs improvement is the food. She is not impressed at all and does not like there is no variety. My mother wishes the food was prepared on campus and not somewhere else.

The facility is great, the staff is friendly, and there are plenty of activities. It's clean and spacious. A good value for what you get. The food could be better. My only complaint is that there is no accommodation if a resident isn't able to make meal time. They have to let the staff know, and the food is put in containers for them to eat later. It's not very appetizing. Also if a relative wants to have a guest for a meal, they need 48 hours notice. Not really convenient if a friend just drops by. I think that system needs some improvement.

The meals and dining should be a 0, they stopped with the food. They could improve on the food. Transportation to drs. appointments.

I rate it a 3-4, because the activity director, [name removed], is awesome & tries to make everyone happy. You know that's hard to satisfy a bunch of adults, especially women. They don't serve meals, except for continental breakfast about 4 days a week. Everyone looks forward to these. We have a lot of potlucks & different celebrations every week. Once a month is birthday celebration, holiday party, bingo, card games, crafts, painting etc. They try make sure there something for everyone. The flower beds & lawns are in kept nicely, to enhance curb appeal

Overall nice facility. Now aimed toward active 55+. No meals or transportation provided. Currently being renovated. Staff is helpful. Residents are friendly.

Over the past year Alders is not what it once was when it opened. Most senior adult living communities have at least monthly entertainment. They don’t. They don’t create a fun atmosphere for group events. They don’t cater to seniors. Right now for over 3 weeks the residents don’t have access to their faubs to get into buildings. The fire alarm is not working as residents were told yesterday.

My mom and I lived here and Sommerset has been sold and is now called [facility removed]. They are now an active 55 and older complex with no services such as meals and transportation. Many of the residents had to move out. Very sad that this happened and with little notice.

Facility is old be sure to get on first floor and everything you need such as walk in shower and high toliet and check electrical outlets and vents for ac and heat flow. The location is good.

This place can barely be called handicapped accessible. There are no automatic doors to any amenities. You cannot access the Great Room or inner courtyard in a wheelchair or motorized cart. There is an automatic door between the GR and the courtyard area. But you can't access either area without a key fob and someone holding the door open for you. People need to know this. This property has been unstable since I got here. Ownership changed, all staff has turned over 2x or more. They're cheap and took months to resolve a noise issue.

The staff was very helpful. The facility is kept spotless. I felt the staff did not keep up with my loved one's medication. There were numerous times that my loved one said they did not give her certain medications. I had to keep on the nursing staff to make sure that certain medications were given to her. I felt like this was a problem. The food was good and my loved one liked it. However, when she had to go to dialysis early in the morning they did not give her breakfast. Being diabetic, that was worrisome. We had to make sure that she ate something before she left the facility for treatment. Also, when she left the facility they owed me $[removed] for overpayment and I had to wait 7 weeks for a refund! My loved one went to activities, but complained that there could have been more to do.

My experience at Avidor is quite disappointing. Staff turnover is a notable problem. I can’t even track the number of different resident experience directors we have had or the amount of time the position has been vacant. This is a very female centric community and most activities are planned for and attended almost exclusively by women. The continental breakfast is no better than a 2-star motel and is packed with unhealthy foods. Happy hour snacks are also disappointing and usually consist of nuts or taco chips. Communication from management is infrequent and incomplete. Messages and suggestions are commonly ignored. There is a BIG gap in what is advertised and what is delivered.

The food is great, but the communication to get the food is not ideal. Their system is where they need and help and communication with residents. The dining room has been closed since covid and so they have been having to eat in their rooms. The parking lot situation is horrible to for the residents who still drive, it is very hard to get a parking spot. The key pad in the lobby has not worked since August. The staff are very friendly and helpful, I just think they need some administrative help.

Care services Zero there are none except activities class which is good. Staff and Manager always on phone/in office never talks to anyone. Others are friendly but always so busy. Meals none/or only bits and pieces. No cost to owner. Activities there is live music on Friday night is good. Other is only cards, etc no cost to owner. No value except good apartment and location. Nothing from owner. Outside is looking worse. Dead grass and bushes. Few flowers. Right now everything works however they are going to one maintenance man so who knows. It's best to take care of yourself not depend on them for anything. GOOD LOCATION Can't believe I'm so negative. I like my apartment size and layout. It's quiet and attractive and works. Near elevator and trash room. I've made friends after a year. I'll stay because I don't want to move. Security is almost nil. Gates don't work so stay open.

Happy Here-expensive

This community was louder and busier and very active community. I was not looking for this kind of environment and wanted something quieter. Great tour and helped me find where I really wanted to be at and the things I needed to have in my space.

This community is very pricey and not as big of a living quarters as the community that I was looking for. The other community had a lot more room to move around and worked out better for my loved one.

Beautiful decor watch floors in apt scratched slow filling up two employees walked off very under staffed need more experience.
