Five Star Senior Living

We have found everyone very friendly. They all take three jobs very seriously. Everything is very clean. The dining room is comfortable, the food is hot and appealing. Easy to reach our parent by caregiver line. Very secure facility.

The facility has been recently renovated and looks very nice. The staff have been very responsive to our needs. The food does seem to be overcooked often.

We are satisfied with our choice and we know that our loved one is safe. There is always room for improvement but when we have had questions they have been addressed and answered.

We liked it better the apts are bigger. People looked happy all said hello. Yes, I would recommend to others but it takes a few months to get used to this kind of living

It was the best place I looked at for my mother's needs and also closest to my home. The experience was good.

We moved my 82 year old mother into an independent living apartment after my stepfather passed away. My mom is making friends and attending social functions in the common room, as well as the dining room twice a day. Thus far we haven’t had any real problems, she’s adjusting well and I’m happy that she’s not alone.

My mother recently moved to Park Place and is settling in. The staff have gone out of their way to make her feel welcome and I appreciate her being somewhere close and with people she can interact with. It is a big adjustment but everything is in working order and she is making new friends.

It's been fine for my loved one so far. Only bad thing I know of is if she decides to go to big house for a meal they quite often run out of main meal leaving hamburger as an option

Great place for the value (reasonable rent, very nice grounds and residents), but feels like it might be declining (food quality is down, general cleanliness of buildings is decreasing)

I chose this community due to the cost and also the size of the apartment. The food is pretty bad and you don't have any choices unless you want a hamburger or hot dog. I have a medical reason for needing to take my meals in my room and I'm charged an extra $50 a month for that.

When one enters Home Place of Burlington you are greeted by a smiling and welcoming receptionist. The staff are very friendly and helpful by answering questions and offering encouragement. My brother loves his room and especially the big window that views the backyard and woods. There is a bird feeder at his window which I keep filled with birdseed. He enjoys watching the Red Birds, Carolina Chickadees, and Pigeons as well as the Squirrels that visit for a meal. Even deer have been known to visit. He says it is more entertaining than TV and much better than looking at another building or apartment. When you are a caregiver, it is one less thing to worry about when you know that your loved one is being taken care of and appreciated by a caring community such as Home Place of Burlington.

So far all the staff is friendly and helpfully. The (3) meals provide, breakfast, lunch and dinner are on time each day, which helps on regularity for the clients. This business allows dogs, which has helped my mom jitters regarding this big move. Her dog was by her side.

The unit we took was ready when we were told. The maintenance people were prompt in hanging our three TV's. The Garden Home had new carpet, new paint and new Refrigerator. I get on a small bus every Thursday with my neighbors and are taken to different places to have a nice lunch. Very good way to make friends. I have played and won at Bingo. There are about four different activities scheduled each day (including Saturdays and Sundays). Highly recommend.

Good programs and supporting staff focused on residents quality of life. They try to meet the residents where they are in their dementia journey. Some turnover in senior staff and administration makes communication slow at times. However complete attention to family needs are addressed when meeting/phone calls occur.

Some staff members are better than others. If you happen to get a care giver you don't like for any reason, you should know to ask for leadership to switch the staff person to another caregiver. That worked really well for us as there was a caregiver who my mother in law thought was too rough. We complained and they switched people with no problem. The place is quite nice compared to many other similar facilities: it's really nice that it's in an old stone building that was purpose built as a care facility. The entertainment spaces are lovely. The chapel is unique amongst peer institutions (although [name removed] did not use it).

There has been some turnover between techs/nurses over the past year, but we have been extremely pleased with the friendliness of the staff. The food (taste, appearance and combination of the side with the entrees) could be improved on.

This was a great option for us since is was close to our house. The staff were very nice and knew my mother-in-law by name. However, we had a few issues regarding a sprinkler leak, and having regular access to going outside.

Long time caring staff. Very responsive. Only negative is the transportation services. Limited availability and some activities cancelled at last minute. I absolutely recommend Forum at Park Lane to others looking.

We moved our Aunt into 5 Star of Reno a year and a half ago. She fit in almost immediately and has received very good care there. I feel the staff are very caring and attentive and they really try to have interesting and varied activities for the residents. My Aunt particularly enjoys the exercise classes, physical therapy, and the drumming classes.

It's a great facility. My dad likes it there. Food is great and Staff is friendly. He also got to keep his dogs which was nice. I would absolutely recommend Five Star Residences of Banta Pointe to others looking.
