Evolve Senior Living

There was a lot of things that we were not aware of involving the move into the community. I wish the management would had explained that we were going to have to supply a lot of her needs for her room. We had to buy towels and sheets and even a trash can for her room. I thought these things were included but they were not. I would say to anyone thinking about senior living is to make sure you realize that all exclusive does not really mean exclusive you will still have to get a lot of things for your loved one and just ask the community what you will need to get for your loved one.

They are doing an okay job. It doesn't seem that you get the personalized care they advertise. They have maybe 4 workers to 25 residents. There are things that if we aren't there, they don't necessarily get done. It's a clean place and it looks nice and the people are nice enough it seems. They just seem severely understaffed. They were a little more expensive than other places we looked at as well.

The staff are not very nice. They need to learn to treat the residents equally.

They're not properly staffed or equipped to deal with seniors going through the progression of dementia / Alzheimer's. The memory care unit is too large with too many spaces conducive to disease progression.

The tour that we took of Anthology of Blue Ash was amazing, we were impressed and all of the staff were very friendly. This facility is gorgeous and well decorated. The main areas were always kept clean. The staff were mostly friendly. The meals appeared to be tasty. The facility seems to have little to no knowledge of how to care for patients in memory care with late stage Alzheimer's. The staff was never consistent, which interrupted care. Several times we couldn't find any staff with a key to let us out of the memory care, because all of the staff were from agencies. We have found our loved one's room with dried fecal matter on the couch that had obviously been there for some time. They were ill equipped to deal with basic behaviors that relate to Alzheimer's such as wandering, and confusion. I would not recommend this facility to anyone I know, specifically the memory care side.

The facility is lovely with fairly well-maintained grounds and walking paths. There are lots of activities available if your loved one can be convinced to participate. The staff are caring, and the food is okay. The problem is the lack of administrative oversight of the Health Care and Medication Administration. The facility was without nursing oversight for over 6 weeks, and my loved one was caught in a medication mess. The administrator was alerted, but literally ignored all of my attempts to get help. If you are considering this facility, I strongly suggest that you inquire about the state requirement for on-sight nursing, and find out if this is still an issue. And stay on top of it...

Had our mother at Brookdale Lakewood for 5 months before she passed. This facility had nothing but one issue after another. They went through several management changes during that time and things never got any better despite promise after promise. We paid for extra assistance in every category but mom very rarely received that assistance. I visited mom a couple times a week so saw lots first hand. All I can say if you chose this facility for a family member make sure you pay attention or your loved one will be left on thier own for the most part.

Be honest. Do what you promise. Care for the people that pay the bill. Provide quality life.

Most of the staff is very nice and helpful, but the care they were able to give my mom was horrendous. Upon sign-up with the facility, we were assured they could care for her bowel incontinence. However, EVERY TIME one of us, her children, visited, which was pretty much daily, there was a horrible mess to clean up. I would arrive, see the mess, tell someone about it and then they would, very nicely, go and clean it up. I NEVER arrived to a clean room.
