Dial Retirement Communities

I would recommend The Montclair to others for their loved ones. The biggest complaint we have with them is the food quality and variety. They have been working on making corrections to the food options.

The community is in the process of moving along towards getting the activities back in order, and the community is starting to open back up. They are now offering three meals in the dining room which is a big thing, beforehand the meals were being delivered to our rooms.

It has been a great place for my parents. The staff has been accommodating and helpful. It has been the best place we found. The communication has been excellent. They allow virtual visits, or have scheduled appointments with our loved ones. We even are able to take our loved one out into the community during the pandemic.

I would tell people to come check the community out, have a few meals. The only complaint I have is the food. The food has too much salt, and will arrive cold. Overall, the food just isn't good. Independence Village hasn't had any issues with COVID. They are doing construction and I feel this should improve the community. I don't feel you get your money's worth at this community, however.

There has been a change of management recently, the community seems to be influx. I would consider this place again for my loved one, but I also recommend looking around at other communities. The food is enjoyed by my loved one.

On the whole, I feel that Solana is a well-run community. However, the caregivers are highly overworked. I have been here for five months, 6 caregivers have left and none were hired. There are 2 more leaving in the next two weeks. The caregivers are superb, never complaining. My thoughts are just an observation. I would hate to lose more caregivers to poor work conditions.

Living at The Solana for almost 3 years has been everything promised to me when I moved here and more. The staff and employees are the best-trained people always eager to help fix anything any minor problem that might arise. The culinary staff does an excellent job of providing delicious dinners. The servers are young people always ready to greet you with smiles and deliver what you order. This is truly a home away from home!

[name removed] who is the Marketing person was extremely helpful. The community has a dual license of the units, We could upgrade to Assisted Living care when the time comes and stay in the Independent Living unit so they would not have to move. We really liked this feature. It is a smaller place and it was easier to get to know other residents. The food is average. My father in law required Physical Therapy 3-4 times a week, they had the PT room and therapist right there, we were very very impressed.

Location on busy road a downside for Mom who still drives- hard to get in and out of. Pretty area, but feel that there's probably more services included than she needs. Spoke with a rep there, liked what they do to support new residents, but don't feel this is the right fit for Mom's current needs.

The Solana of Deer Park is a very nice place. The staff is very friendly, welcoming and concerned about their patients. They treat everyone with dignity. My mom is in the memory care area. She wasn’t doing well for a while and they showed concern and kept in contact with me. The rooms are nice and large. Even the shared rooms are private except for the bathroom. They keep the place pretty clean considering they have quite a few people to take care of. The food could be more natural and less processed. The communication between staff could be a little better, but everything is an adjustment. All in all it is a nice place and is a good value for the price.

I think overall my sister enjoys living there. She has made friends and enjoys bingo and some other activities. The facility is clean and the staff is friendly. I think the lobby could use some updating , maybe a little more up to date colors but her major complaint is the food. I have also overhead about 5 residents sitting outside complaining about what they had for dinner. They can't seem to keep kitchen help and the quality could be better. I know its hard to satisfy so many people but I think that is one thing they really need to work on. Overall though I would recommend Independence Village. I do feel she is in a good neighborhood and I feel safe having her there.

Very happy with this option. A little out of my geographical range.

Staff is friendly, building is clean and nicely maintained. We toured a small and a medium sized 1 bedroom apartment and we were impressed with the size of both. The monthly rates for apartments are less expensive than the other communities we received information about. When you add in the cost of amenities that are not included in the monthly rate (Ameren, cable, WiFi) it’s a little more per month but still reasonably priced. My mom did not select this community as her new home but it was a very close second. I would recommend touring this community.

This is really nice, but I fear their studio apartments are few and far between in availability.

I went on a tour here and the women we worked with the first time was no longer there and she had told us a different price range. The new person didn't know the right information and wouldn't give me straight answers. This place is beautiful and a newer building. It was nice and clean. There was not a lot of residents. There wasn't many activity going on anywhere.

I toured here when looking for a place for my husband to go. It was very nice, it’s a brand new facility, and everything was available in one building. Most of the residents seemed to be happy to be there. I went to a couple of cocktail parties that they had and the food was good. When I took the tour, the person giving me the tour was able to answer any questions that I had. The facility was brand new and kept very clean. They didn’t offer exactly what I needed, though, which is why we didn’t choose to move him in.

I toured this community and everything was nice and clean. The staff answered all my questions and they had memory care here but all the prices were a la carte and I didn't feel comfortable with that. So we chose a different place.
