Dial Retirement Communities

We looked at 5 different communities for assisted living that can transition to memory care and Elk Ridge was one of our top 2. We chose Elk Ridge because after a few years you can go from private funding to Medicare funding, even in the memory care. I visited this community 3 different times once with my husband and once with my brother and we all agreed that this was the community for my mom. It is settled in a semi rural area with lots of greenery, currently their flowers are blooming and it’s beautiful. They have a beautiful courtyard of which my mom has a very good view of. The landscaping is really well maintained. We are really pleased that she is there, the staff made it really easy for her to settle in and be comfortable.

$2,055 a month for Independent Living, step-up facility, includes 3 meals/day/month, washer/dryer in unit, has patios/balconies, very active community/approx. 5 different activities every day, housekeeping service, lodge feel, concierge services, salon, massage therapist, happy hour every day.

Absolutlely the best fit for her. I am very impressed with the facility, education level of the staff and their assessment done Saturday AM was very professional and very hands on.

Talked with the director, highlights were view is gorgious, great management team and slow staff turnover.

Beautiful property, residents well cared for, OK lunch, new, open, airy, good vibes.

Legacy charges $1,000.00 more per month than Walden Place in Iowa City. The facility itself seemed dark and depressing to me. Walden place was very well lit with much more natural light coming in and much more cheery colors and nicer furnishing throughout. Also, no unit in the Legacy assisted living had any outside access. Walden place apartments each have their own balcony or patio which is very nice to have for smokers. Legacy charges $1,000.00 deposit for having a small pet. Walden place charges nothing. Walden Place has 4 resident managers available 24/7. One manager serves coffee to the residents at lunch and gets to know them personally as well as finding out first hand and fast if there is any maintenance needed or other things that may need his attention. He also reads the days activities and events to the residents at lunch. The facility offered us free lunch and provided a welcome committee resident to dine with us and answer questions from a first hand experience point of view. I could say a lot more positive things.

Very nice facilities. Memory care is seperate building with 2 mirrored units - 1 less care and 1 for more care needed, private studio apt - perfect size. Comfortable common areas, dining room, small with a homey feel. I went to the IL dining room (more room and got to meet chef) and had lunch. Food was very good. Price in our range and Mom's doctor is right next door. Nurse has been in geriatrics for over 10 years. Don't know if there was anything I didn't like.

Like the others, very nice place but too large for us. People were kind and helpful.

It's a very clean community. The care services are excellent. The food is very good. They seem to have a lot of activites, but we have not got involved yet. The value for the money is good. the only issue is they are, understaffed in the dining area. We picked this place because, they don't segregate people from independent and asstisted living. Also, the people were very helpful and honest. Overall, the facility is very nice , and everything is new.

They're friendly and they are attentive. They have good facilities, especially for my dad. The putting green is awesome and the garage availability is key for him as well. This is a societal-wide problem, but they are definitely understaffed in the dining room. I think they have difficulties getting enough staff.

The community felt too spread-out for my loved one.

I would recommend you look into this community. My loved one is very happy here. I think the overall welcoming feeling and comfortable place is great. The family is only 5 minutes away and this makes it convenient for us. I don't think there is anything I would change about the community.

Overall we have had a positive experience, though we have only had experience through the pandemic. They have been as accommodating as possible and have gone out of their way to help families and residents stay connected. Also, there has not been one case of covid in assisted living portion of the facility. They have done a very nice job keeping them all safe. The rooms are nice and spacious and kept up well, he has plenty of room for what he needs.

The staff is friendly, helpful, and wonderful. They even have a good attitude. We are currently eating in our rooms and in plastic due to the pandemic. If we were going to the dining room the food would be more appealing for us.

Love my home at Eve Assisted Living! My name is Marian and I have called Eve home for over three years. Eve is truly a GEM in a little pocket of Hinsdale!. We have an ideal location next to library, train station and downtown Hinsdale. We have a lovely side patio where I enjoy eating meals and meeting for our Happy Hour. I feel the privacy Eve provides but I love having access to everything Hinsdale has to offer. Another special part of Eve is our Activity Director, [name removed]. She is very involved in our lives here at Eve and offers great programs that are of interest to us! I can tell she enjoys her job and that makes being around her and the activities so much fun. Eve offers a boutique assisted living, memory care and respite stay community. I would recommend this facility to any of my family and friends. They take great care of the Residents and make us always feel at home. I love it here!

I am happy with the performance of the administration and enjoy the staff-they truly have our best interest at heart. There is always something fun going on here and the activity director goes out of her way to make sure we stay engaged and interested throughout the day. She connects with us on a personal level and is always concerned with our mental, emotional and physical health. Overall, I give Eve Assisted Living a 5 star review.

My name is [name removed] and I have called Eve Assisted Living home for over three years. If I had to say what I enjoy most about our community, it would be hands down the staff. [name removed], the Activities Director, [name removed] and the entire kitchen staff and the Concierge Staff really do go above and beyond to make me feel so special. I love our happy hour with [name removed] on the Piano and the Moonshiners Ukulele Players! I am on the second floor overlooking our beautiful courtyard. Our gardens are so beautifully appointed throughout the year. The staff really listen to our feedback and we are enjoying our new Cooking Lessons and Cake Decorating Instructions! I would recommend our wonderful community to potential residents because Eve is truly a hidden gem in downtown Hinsdale. The staff really make all the difference for me

We visited this community before COVID and were highly impressed! Beautiful building with staff that were extremely friendly and took the time to introduce themselves and greet us. Perhaps the most breathtaking part of the community is the restaurant on the 6th floor that lets you have a meal and look out over the front range. Dad will be moving in next month and is excited to meet some new people!
