Silvercreek Assisted Living's good points are that it's mostly clean and some of the staff work diligently. On the other hand, some staff won't come to the room, no matter how many times a patient will ring for them, the food is high in fat and sugar, not conducive to a diabetic patient. Some staff are too rough when changing or moving a patient. A person certainly does not get the care they should receive when paying over [amount removed] a month payments. SilverCreek still owes me over [amount removed].

My loved one was previously a resident at Cedar Ridge Senior Living and the experience was not great, we ended up moving my loved one to another facility. I will say, they welcome their new residents very well. They give them a welcome basket, give you contact phone numbers, etc. I thought that was a good thing, but I kept texting the nurse about things and I may or may not have gotten a response. The nursing department at this facility lacks in communication and organization. We had a big problem with my loved one not getting meds, the med techs did not follow through with processes. The food was okay, but slow to get to the residents that were served for meals. I honestly felt that they were either understaffed or just didn't have good help in all areas.

Our loved one was previously a resident at GreenTree at Mt. Vernon and our experience at this facility was not good. The cleanliness was okay. The overall friendliness was pretty good. However, the care services were not great. At least not from our experience with our loved one. Ultimately, we decided to move our loved one to a different Memory Care facility.

I have been extremely disappointed about few things with Cedar Ridge. First the lack of staff is ridiculous. When residents push their button no one comes repeatedly. I have addressed an issue with the nurses station twice in 2 months. I did get an apology. They have changed the code to get in and out of the building and not notified family. We don't get an email of the calendar of events each month to know what the residents are doing. They don't get church on Sunday. My mom's dementia is getting worse and just this past Friday someone called me to see if I would okay getting speech therapy for Mom if the doctor would write a letter and insurance would approve it. It may help her cognitive progress. I am thrilled that someone finally took notice of her.

We picked this community because, it seemed perfect. The location was equal distance from me and my brothers. They were willing to purée my dad's food. The staff was very friendly, and the place was very clean and it was one of the recommendations that you all gave us. Cedar Ridge senior living changed management about mid way into his residency, which, in my opinion, was one of the worst things they could do to such a great senior living. We saw a complete change from the beginning to the end from happy employees too stressed and overworked employees.

If you need a sitter, the caregivers are nice, & do a decent job. If, however, you need post-OP care, diabetes care, or edema management...STAY AWAY!! The menu is deplorable- full of carbs & sodium- and their "available alternatives" are not better. Seriously, an elementary school has better nutrition. Because of their "Care", my family member moved in as a level 3, and less than 3 months was a level 5+ with 2 ER visits & one urgent care visit under his belt, for things they could've either prevented or managed themselves. And of course our rent went up for their lack of care. The RN is very good at documenting issues after they happen & bossing caregivers around, not caring for or even touching residents. Trying to get the administration to see residents as real people with the need of loving help & common sense consideration will be met with rules, regulations, and excuses for why they won't do their job & it will all be candy coated in lots of PC language. PLEASE LOOK ELSEWHERE!!

Our loved ones chair was never cleaned, and it always had food on it. Some of the staff members were good, and some were not responsive to our loved ones needs. Our loved one was left sitting in her diaper numerous of times. The staff did not respond to their call buttons. From our experience and others around her, it would take the staff around 40 minutes to come to our loved one, if they even came at all. There was plenty of activities to participate in, but they only took her to bingo. There were many other activities she would of loved to participate in.

I visited a loved one at Woodland Palms almost daily for the past three years or so, until her death. Within that time, I have seen many workers come and go; some good and some bad. It seems like most of the bad ones stay and the good ones leave or are let go. The food was not all that good and the portion sizes were very small. There were many unprofessional care givers that were too busy being on their phones or listening to music with their headphones on. I have witnessed upper management speaking to other staff disrespectfully and unprofessionally. I have even encountered staff talking badly about residents and some of the stuff said came from upper management. The daily activities were pretty good. They offered a wide variety of activities, ranging from exercise groups, board games, social parties, church services, pet therapies and entertainment. The entertainment provided was excellent and well done. I cannot remember the Activity director's name, but he was always pleasant and did a great job engaging residents to have fun that wanted to participate. He even gave me updates on how my mother was doing. I believe his name was [name removed] or [name removed]. My memory isn't so good. After he left, Activities declined and went down hill. [Name removed] and [name removed] were very nice and always very pleasant. They greeted me with smiles and always asked if there was anything they could do for me. Most other care givers were not as nice. The monthly themed parties were pretty amazing and the food provided was good. The place is very dirty and dingy and suffers from lack of good upper management.

My mother was living at Timberwood for about 2 months and my family and I visited especially often during the first month. Staff was always friendly. After leaving however the staff would call seeming to have a lack of confidence in how to care for my mom. My mom is very busy walking and moving around and does not sleep for long periods of time. My mother moved in as a level 1 in approximately the first of September and then was all of a sudden moved to a level 5 mid-October. There was little to no explanation for this move and they increased her monthly obligation by over $1400.00 a month. My brother informed me that he felt it was because our mother was not drugged and they felt she was too difficult to deal with. They had been giving her a very low dose of medication that would cause my mother to be very sleepy and easy to work with. It was a type of anxiety medication. My parents never took medication and because of this she could not get herself out of bed and to the bathroom before soiling herself. My brother took her to the doctor and they changed her medication to help slow the dementia instead of treating just the symptoms. As soon as she was off that medication she was back to her usual self. While I was caring for her in her home I gave her 1mg of melatonin and she slept 9 hours straight. I told the staff members to just give her that and she will be fine. However, according to them they cannot give any medications to her unless properly prescribed by a doctor, which made no sense to me. My mother is not in a state where she would need extreme care to be in level 5 (Hospice). There was another incident were my mother had trouble breathing and they were unable to reach my brother and called me to ask if they should call EMT's. I told them that if my mother says she is having a difficult time breathing to always call the EMT's. Additionally, from the beginning I left a list of her children to call if they needed to, but it seemed like they always started from the bottom of the list instead of my oldest brother who had Power of Attorney. I was very concerned with their lack of ability to handle simple situations. It's just really unfortunate, they seemed really nice but their night crew seemed unable to handle my mom without calling me. There were incidences where tenants would [Removed] from my mother's room and vice versa. I would have to remind her if I noticed something that it didn't belong to her. My sister and I stayed for a meal with our mom and was told that it would be roast beef. It was hamburger gravy over mashed potatoes with mushy vegetables, canned mandarin oranges and pudding for desert. We had been told there was a chef preparing meals and when my sister complained about the meal she was told that they were hiring a new chef and the other was not enthused about preparing meals during her last few days there. Regardless of our questions about what we were originally told of the accommodations we were told that someone was in the middle of fixing the situation, hiring another person, etc. I can say the place was clean, old but very clean. I did like the fact that tenants were able to do their own laundry because that was one thing my mom enjoyed doing. They had a board that showed a variety of activities they did. Our initial contact at Timberwood was amazing and I fell in love with her immediately and she told us her own grandmother was at Timberwood. She would make candles with the residents and take them on outings, like to the refurbished "Ferris wheel" in Salem, I believe that's where it was. All in all I would not recommend this community and believe it's unfortunate that I do not have a favorable opinion about them.

I was disappointed in this facility which looks great from the outside. When you walk in, you enter the dining room, and the floor was not clean. The hallway carpets really need replacing and the overall feel was uncomfortable. The staff was friendly and informative, but pretty much talked to only us and not my mother in law. I got the impression the #1 here was not the residents, but the business. While I understand this IS a business, we are leaving our loved one in your hands, you need to take care of their needs and not just your profits.

Bad day to visit. Major construction due to burst sprinkler line. Facility in desperate need of upgrade anyway. Generally well worn conditions. Observed frightful conversation when waiting on appointment. A caregiver arrived unannounced in lobby to discuss a residents worsening skin condition with a administrator/nurse only to be told by same that she didn't have time this second. The caregiver and residents care was clearly simply dismissed at the time. I continued tour anyway and has not impressed and swayed from my initial poor impressions.

This facility is top-heavy with administrator-types who sit in visible offices in the main area. They appear impressive. They are friendly and good with the sales job. BUT - this facility is severely understaffed. This facility is particularly NOT recommended for anyone with any degree of dementia, as it is too large and isolating and there are simply not enough staff. My mother had a medication error here that the "nurse" never caught, leading to numerous ER visits. They also do not monitor for changes in health conditions - my mother developed terrible UTIs and the facility never noticed nor addressed them, even when asked to collect a urine sample to test for a UTI. They have a facility "doctor" who is never available to speak with family members and I suspect is only there to protect them from liability. I was never able to get any administrator to explain how my mother's care was being carried out. They have no way to connect the "points" you pay for with daily care. They also are lax with safety issues - I watched a man with dementia walk out the front door and down the sidewalk - there were no staff anywhere near the door to monitor this. The doors were routinely left open late at night with no one staffing the front area and staff usually busy in resident's rooms - anyone could have wandered in off the street. They do have the most spacious rooms I saw in any facility - it's just too bad they can't provide good care for the money that is paid.

Wildwood appearance is ok. Some things need repaired. Food is terrible. Accountability for errors (and there are a lot) is zero. Wildwood Canyon Villas pushes for residents families to pay for private nurses on top of the monthly rent. Administration makes you feel like they cant be trusted when problems arise. They blame patients for problems and then push hospice services.

Don't believe everything Brookdales fancy brochure claims it to be. Where do I begin; I have a parent at the Ashland Oregon facility and we thought, based on all of their claims, that this would be a perfect place. It didn't take long to find out the truth which quite simply is this; The food is horrible and the portions are so small that many of the residents are still hungry after they've eaten. The food isn't fresh it's delivered prepared and frozen and the "chef" simply heats it up. The only fresh fruit served are oranges and apples and there is no concern whatsoever about health issues relating to food. Activities are rare, since my parent moved in there hasn't even been an activities director. I have no idea what they're talking about when they list one of the amenities as "transportation" I guess they think that going to the Walmart once a week is transportation because that is all that's offered. My parents apartment gets vacuumed twice a month but because there is only one housekeeper for the entire facility, it's not unusual for that to get overlooked. When lightbulbs in and outside of the building go out it takes weeks and sometimes months before they're replaced making it difficult to see at night, it's literally a law suit waiting to happen. There's no such thing as pet care, bbq's, happy hours. And all of this for $2700 a month. It is nothing but false advertising and my sibilings and I are having the contract looked at and will be taken action very soon.
