Could be better.

It's a beautiful place, but everything else could be better. I feel the staff is underpaid and that they are understaffed. My father's room was a disaster, he was missing clothes, we couldn't find his shoes. My mom dropped off a tv and they told her it wouldn't work there, I feel like they just said that. They do have a pool and a workout room and if I had to pay more to get them to wheel him to the workout room and they would actually do it, I would. One time his diaper hadn't been changed in a while. I'm not sure if he's been outside in three weeks. One time they told me at 10 am that they didn't serve breakfast, or it had just closed and they wouldn't even give me cereal. The receptionist upstairs is excellent and so nice! But the staff downstairs is not.

Limited time to move out

The food could definitely use improvement. We gave them notice, that we would be moving my mom out and had a week and a half left there. When we came to finish moving her out and clean up, they had her items assigned to someone else. We thought we had a little more time left to vacate the premises, but we didn't and they did not allow us enough time to move out.

Bad first impression from the staff

I only made it as far as the lobby here, so I can't say anything about the facility itself, but my experience with the staff was not a good one. I called to schedule a tour and the person I got on the phone was very rude and curt. However, I thought I would give them a second chance and I stopped by to see how things looked, but the first employee I met when I came inside was equally rude and unprofessional, so I just turned around and crossed this one off of my list.

Since Brookdale bought it out everything seems to be going downhill

Since Brookdale bought it out everything seems to be going downhill. They reduced some of the staff. I'm suppose to have housekeeping once a week. I have not had any housekeeping. Whats on the menu is not acceptable. The majority of the staff are untrained, but they are very very nice. What bothers me is that they are just not trained. My overall rating of the Emeritus at the Springs Campus is 2 stars.

Ask a lot of questions

My moms friend lives here so we thought we would tour. It seemed nice but I talked with her daughter and this was not the place that it seemed. Once we dug into more information we found added costs that were not disclosed. The more we dug the more we found so this really put a bad taste in our mouth. I saw the reviews about food and that made us hopeful. It was flat when we were there and my mom loves good food so she was hoping for more. Other than that nice place but not what we chose.

At first glance the property is wonde...

At first glance the property is wonderful and only 40+ rooms. That is where the wonderful stops: Negotiate your price early and well, because getting your money in my opinion is paramount on their minds. Do anything to get you in and comfortable, then after a few months the monthly raises will begin. My mother was there for about 15 months, if we had not moved her, her care would have gone from approx. $3600.00 per month to $7700.00 per month (more than doubled). It must be said, her need for care did increase, but double, NO! I truly believe the "get the money" attitude comes from in house management, not from senior management. I had cleaning issues on her and the room from the beginning. Food is average. Keeping people seems to be an issue, while we were there they went through more than 4 RN's. If I had this all to do over I would take a closer look at a Foster Home, less money, better care. For the record, these are my personal opinions, based upon what I saw and what was reported to me by other family members.

Caution - Assisted Living needs improvement

My father lived at SVSV for 5 months in assisted living and loved it. But he has dementia so couldn't understand why I moved him due to the fact the people in charge of his care were not only ignoring problems but also covering up when I brought things to their attention. Many excuses and blaming my father or me instead of taking responsibility for their job. Poor communication between staff.

Glad To Be Gone

We lived in an independent living cottage for 10 months and are glad we left; 1. The service staff (housekeeping, meal service, front desk, etc.) were invariably cheerful, pleasant and almost always tried to be helpful. It was at the management level and cottage maintenance where things broke down. In our opinion, management was definitely not up to the task. Please note that we have marked "Care Services" as 3 stars but we were independent living and have no actual experience with special services. 2. Having said that the folks who served the meals were pretty good belies our experience with the quality of the meals themselves. With the exception of the soups (almost always good and hot) It was rare to have a meal served as hot as it should have been. Also, frequently, the advertised meal was not available as they had run out - particularly upsetting when you pay an average of 15 days in advance for meals. 3. As an example of management competence; at our departure, we were give a management prepared worksheet showing that Creekside owed us over $350.00. In spite of three months of constant correspondence on our part on this subject we have yet to receive any funds and their infrequent responses - promises that they are working on it and, in one case, the comment that she was real busy!

Not a Good Fit For Us

We toured at the Royalton Place, and did not care for it. There was a smell about the place, and we felt that the person giving our tour could have been more professional. The dog in her office immediately sat in my loved one's lap, and my loved one is not a pet person at all. We also did not like that in the apartments, the bathroom was in the front of the unit, not off of the bedroom. We knew that this community would not be a good fit for us.

No compassion or fairness

Family of resident in memory care was notified of eviction with 7 days notice. High functioning resident observed that door would open without alarm by pushing on bar for 15 seconds. He took walks out. Not OK. But instead of counseling family that it wasn’t a good fit, they evicted. The letter noted that the spouse was partially to blame. As in saying the person walked out after talking to the spouse on the phone, suggesting causation. Nurse told spouse they couldn’t be trusted. Told other people spouse would soon need memory care. Ethics? Kindness?

Horrendous conditions

My mother was held hostage & kept in solitary confinement until she was placed on hospice. The food is atrocious, not once did anyone come to check her diaper & they pumped her with polyethylene glycol everyday to the extent she wasted away on a daily basis. Most painful experience of both of our lives & they broke apart my family dynamic. Absolute tyrants who are obsessed with $.

not good

management doesn't care about patients but cares very much about the money. if you try to have some fun with patients they called it disruptive and have no problem banning you from the facility. A horrible place.

Our families experience

Regency really fell apart due to their head nurse. And the quality of care sucked from about end of [date removed] until we moved him. Dad would be left in his own waste for hours or all the residents would be left in the main room with no attendants anywhere. And they weren't administering his medicine properly either. No consistency.

Do not take your loved ones here!

If I could give zero stars it would not be strong enough. Having a staff member leave you a cold sterile voicemail telling you one of your parents has passed away ( yes I still have the voicemail! ) no family should ever hear this news in a cold and uncaring voicemail. Do don’t take your loved ones here.
