Benedictine

My father is doing pretty well at this community. The community looks great and very clean. The commutation between me and staff could be better. They are trying their best to care for him. He has tried a few new activities, I wish they would take him down for more of the activities. He likes the meals, and the food is good. I would recommend it.

This is a really fine place for us to live. It's a Catholic-sponsored community that warmly welcomed us Presbyterians. Their core values appealed immediately to us: Hospitality (a warm friendly atmosphere), Respect (consideration and compassion), Stewardship (managing community resources wisely) and Justice (good will and dignity in all relationships). It's on an attractive, rolling site that was formerly prosperous farmland, and our house is on one end of our street, bordering some woods.

A great sharing of the community took place with us asking questions, too. This community was not a fit for our mother who requires 24/7 nursing care with diabetes as well as age related dementia. The facility was lovely and well taken care of and the staff we encountered was friendly.

Benedictine's staff have been great especially Theresa at the front desk- she goes above and beyond. [name removed] the building administrator is so approachable with any questions or concerns. The cleaning staff that comes to my mom's apartment is so nice. My mom loves her and one of the aides, Evelyn. The culinary staff have been so accommodating and kind. The food is good and they make many modifications for people that have dietary restrictions. The apartment my mom moved into is considerably smaller than where she moved from but it is adequate and fits her needs.

The staff and residents were kind and easy to talk with. The pricing and what they offered at that price was good. The building is old and appears to need a lot of work and upgrades. Not sure that this is a place for me. Parking outside is not good for me and my diseases that I have. I still drive and need a place with underground heated garage in the winter. I don’t want to fall trying to get to my car.

The staff seemed to be amazing. We were gone so don't have a personal experience, just going by what seems to have been the case. They are helpful, attentive and kind.

Good resource with good information. Took a little while to figure out the interface and how it works. i would recommend to others.

Very neat and clean facility. The tour was great. It came down to them and [Name Removed] we went with [Name Removed] because they were able to reserve a room for the date we needed.

I've noticed it takes time to fix some maintenance items. ( is cable, room heat and air went wacky one night up to 90. Took awhile to fix. (Per my father). Overall he is happy but it's taking time for him to adjust to his new way of life.

Acceptable, but I’m not ready to make a move yet.

I feel that there should have been toilet seat riser and bars for the toilet already in the room. If they would have been she may not have fallen the three times and her care plan wouldn't have gone up. With the expense of the room some things should have been included like band aids. I love the staff and how they take care of her, I just feel like I have to watch every new thing for the so her care plan does go to high

The experience has been good so far. Change is hard especially on older folks so that's been a challenge. Also, someone being independent for so long and then being in a place where they are there all the time is a big change. The staff has been nice though. My mom got Covid from another resident within the first 3 weeks so that was very hard. They never really communicated clearly when she was free to move around the building again. One other challenge has been that the staff knocks once at the door and then opens it and walks in. This is bothersome for a very private person. We are working this out. I am sure things will iron out -just hard at first and would have been anywhere.

The staff is friendly and helpful, activities are wide and varied, food is very good, facility is well maintained and clean, and the condos are nicely sized and appointed.

I am a current resident at Benedictine Living Community- St. Joseph in the Independent Living. This is a great place to live. It has family vibes and I love the larger events they host in Independent living each month.

Remodeling the bathrooms is slow, enjoys her deck, appreciate the check ins when she doesn't attend meal time. Need a wider variety of activities to engage more people... use big screen tv for residents to watch sporting events? Or shows like wheel of fortune? could do theme meals and add different cultural options? Maybe more take to go breakfast options, muffins, bagels, boiled eggs & fruit

I enjoyed the tour. The facility looked very clean. Both the residents and staff seemed to be very happy. I liked the fact that the facility is faith based. [name removed] was very enthusiastic about the facility and called people by name and was very helpful in allowing us to talk to staff and find out how long they have worked at the location and how they like their job. Overall, it was a very good tour.

We are happy with mom's living situation. It's good to know she is happy, safe & well cared for.

My loved one was previously a resident at Benedictine Windermere Way and the experience was okay overall. My loved one had so much more going on at this facility than she did at her previous facility, which is why we moved her back here when we got the chance to.

Apartment size and variety of layouts are awesome. The amenities are sufficient. Very friendly staff. I would recommend to others!

The tenants are friendly and happy people. They engage with new people and the various spaces are set up great for the events they hold. My father-in-law passed in early December, but the staff was very caring leading up to him having to go into the hospital, and we were able to connect with the housing Director and nursing Director often to discuss his needs and variation of care.
