Avalon Memory Care

I cannot say enough good things about the care that my husband received at Avalon Memory Care Center in Allen. When he entered Avalon, he barely remembered me and became nonverbal and in a wheel chair. The staff always treated him with dignity. He was fed, bathed, shaved and clothed. The family could visit often and bring special treats or special meals. He could sit in the comfortable lounge chairs in the common room and enjoy TV, music and other residents. Birthdays and special occasions were always celebrated for everyone. When the time came, hospice care was available at Avalon. I could not have cared for him so well by myself. He was especially fond of the director who spoke at his service for which I am grateful.

Making the decision to place my mother in residential memory care was the hardest thing I think I have ever done. But living at Avalon has been the best thing for her at this stage of her life. [name removed] and her team of caring staff work tirelessly to make this a home for Mom and the other residents. Not only do I know Mom is safe, but I also know she is happy. Caring for someone with dementia requires boundless patience, unwavering understanding...and a sense of humor! Many thanks to the caregivers in Allen for the difference you make in the lives of others. You are amazing!

The care my wife received at Avalon Memory Care in Louisville Texas was outstanding. I visited the facility all most daily and never once did I have any reason to question the care Donna was receiving. I observed how the staff handled various situations in a very professional manner. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone who is looking for care of a loved one.

My husband has been a resident at Avalon Memory Care in Garland for almost eighteen months and I am pleased with his care. There were a couple of hiccups early but were taken care of promptly. His room is always clean and neat. [name removed], the Director, and her staff are polite and professional. I’m also pleased that he is seen by the staff nurse weekly.

My husband received the best care at Avalon Memory Care in Allen. From the minute his sister and I walked in the door to visit, we were greeted by [name removed] and [name removed]. After many questions and answers, our family felt this was the best placement for him. We were so afraid about the decision process but these two ladies made us feel confident we had made the right decision. After a week of adjusts on everyones part, my husband seemed happy to be there. The staff was so caring, compassionate, and treated him with respect!!!! They learned his likes and dislikes and helped him in every way. I visited every other day when I could and he never complained. He even called them "his family" at one point. For me, his wife, they educated me, counseled me on him, what to expect, how to talk to him, and how to love him the way he was!!!! I recommend this place so highly. God blessed this staff with special gifts in treating patients of this type.

First, [name removed] the director at Garland is the best. Always accessible and always helpful. This is a memory care center and there are patients at all stages of the disease. My friend has been with Avalon for at least two years and they treat her so well. As the disease has progressed they have done everything they can to make her life comfortable. She will be there til the end. There are more expensive places that have more things to do, but my friend cannot do those things. So this is the best place for her. They always do their best and I am thankful for it.

My mother was very happy there. She commented how much she enjoyed the food and how friendly everyone was. Moving in (and out after her passing) was easy and everyone was caring and supportive. I was impressed with the low client to caregiver ratio both during the day and at night, as well as the consistent interaction to keep my mother active and engaged. The facility is beautiful and very clean. A physician and PAs are available to care for clients making it easy for all to manage.

I give the highest marks to [name removed] and all of her staff. We placed our beautiful, sweet mother at Avalon Garland following a bad experience at another care facility. Mom had extensive physical and cognitive issues when she arrived. The care at Avalon was superb. Kind, loving care. Clean facility. Activities and great music for residents. It was a difficult end of life situation for my Mom. [name removed] and her staff were attentive and loving. They really care and focus on what matters. Dignity, respect and great care. I cannot say enough about Avalon. Helped our family with a difficult time. Mom loved Avalon, as do I! I would be happy to discuss Avalon with anyone who has a loved one who is needing care. Its an ideal place to have your parent be comfortable and respected. I witnessed how Avalon Memory Care cared for my mother as though they been knowing her since childhood. She was loved by staff and everyone involved with elderly care. Thankyou for caring about my mother. One Love

If you need a Memory Care facility for a loved one, look no further - this is the best ! Facility is cheerful and well maintained. A real family atmosphere. And the staff is outstanding. On a scale of 1 to 10, I give Avalon Lewisville a TWELVE !!!

We as a family stand behind our decision to have our mom as a resident at Avalon Memory Care. [name removed]is an exceptional Executive Director (title might have changed since her well deserved promotion). She jumps to the aide of families whenever a concern arises. I have the utmost confidence in this establishment and the staff working for Avalon.

My sister and I had to relocate our dad from Alabama to Tx rather quickly. [name removed] and the staff all made it work seamlessly and as stress free as possible. It’s been almost 8 months with dad at the Garland Avalon and we are so pleased with their care. The entire facility is clean and on the few occasions when I found dad had made a mess in his room, the staff were quick and pleasant in straightening things up. They offer activities such as a one man band to dance and sing along. Games and arts/crafts. The staff is very gentle and kind in redirecting clients. My dad has Lewy-Body Dementia which means he may not always be oriented but the staff are patient and kind. We feel very confident that our dad is being treated with dignity and respect at Avalon Memory Care in Garland.

I moved my mom in from a larger Assisted Living facility & even though she only lived two weeks at Avalon before she passed away I witnessed a great group of employees who helped her during her last days. She was treated with dignity, respect, and compassion. I saw the staff treat all the residents that way. The staff also kept the facility very clean. Very impressed with Avalon & thankful they were there when needed. Thank you.

Everyone in the company was easy to work with. We had a special last minute situation and they worked quickly to get my husband in. He was not the easiest to be around, but they managed to take good care of him.

Thank you to the staff for taking such good care of our Mom. We went from being unsure if memory care was needed to realizing it was not just necessary but was the best we could hope for. The staff was so patient and understanding. I feel their work is so much more than just a job. They truly care for the residents.

Avalon took excellent care of our Mother. They helped us get through a very difficult time and it was truly appreciated.

Great experience! For me I was able to spend quality time with her. Ladies working make sure my visit was good. They were very friendly and very busy with all residents. Very impressive. They make sure the residents are well treated, given attention, and they are always available for the needs of the residents. The care takers were able to balance their care for the residents and answer any questions I had.

It is a small facility which allows that personalized care. It's convenient to get to. The menu is varied and the kitchen has snacks whenever the clients are hungry. I would absolutely recommend Avalon Memory Care Cedar Park to anyone looking.

Our experience with Avalon Memory Care has been wonderful. Every care giver has been so kind and gentle with my husband. They have cared for him and for me as well. They keep up with the laundry which is no small undertaking when residents need to be changed multiple times daily. They also do a great job of keeping him clean and dry by checking him often. The food is always very good and they play fun music at mealtime. They also have various people who come in and perform for the residents. I have noticed how thoughtful the care givers are. They interact with the residents, they notice if they are acting cold and will tuck them in with a blanket. The staff are happy and it shows through in their level of care. They also keep the facility very clean. I'm very happy that A Place for Mom recommended them. They also work well with our hospice provider and together, they have my husband on a great routine. I highly recommend Avalon.
