My Mom, when she first moved into Aspen she was so despondent and would rarely leave her room. She has improved so much that she rarely stays in her room and is in great spirits

Community Tour

I liked Ashley Court of Brighton. It was very pleasant. The administrator we met with was really perky and positive. She was very helpful and had a lot of good information on senior care that was transferrable wherever we chose to go. I appreciated how upfront she was. The facility was a little older, and the carpet in the common areas had some staining. But we're realistic about those things - we understand people live there, and spills happen. The one room they had available was not the best fit for my loved one. It had a tree in front of the window, and he prefers light. The wall also had a crack and some water damage. Aside from that room, we liked Ashley Court. So we put him on a waiting list for a different room. The people who lived there seemed to really like it.

friendly staff

Our loved one was not to very happy with the meals and dining - we are not sure if it was the quality of the meals or if it had to do with our loved ones dementia. We really do think the staff did a great job with our loved one considering she was a high fall risk. Based on our experience we would recommend Ashley Court to other families if it fit their loved ones specific needs.

Happy with our decision

The weekday staff was great they were always going go go, however the weekend staff sometimes lacked a little which we do understand they were going through staffing struggles. Our loved one was starting to become very picky at this point with the meals but overall she liked them and the staff were very accommodating to her if they needed to make her something different. They offered plenty of different activities and even offered the covid booster shots. We do think the overall value was worth it and frankly we wished our loved one moved in sooner

A positive care facility

This is a positive community for your loved one and I would recommend this community. They have activities at this community like bowling, games, bouncing balloons, manicures and a lot of things to keep the residents busy and involved in the community. The staff are good and take good care of my loved one. The tour was good and I was able to see everything that I needed to see at this community.

tour of Aspen

we toured Aspen and found it relatively nice. we needed an apartment for two of our loved ones, and they only had studio units which were small. we chose another community because Aspen did not have the room availability we needed to accommodate our loved ones needs.

Feels Like Home

There are some really, really good workers there who are really made for the job. They've become like good friends to my mom. The lady who is in charge of the business office however is not very nice. My only other complaint would be with housekeeping. Frequently I go in my mom's room, and there's not a bag liner in the trash, things like that. My mom really likes the food, although I think it could be a little healthier. But it definitely feels like a family, and I love that part of it. It feels small and close-knit.

Our families experience has been about 95% good

So far we have not seen any red flags and what we have seen of the community so far everything is clean. Our loved one has not really complained about the food and they offer a lot of activities. They are constantly keeping the residents busy. We do think the value for cost is pretty good.

Ashley Court review

As my Mom has declined the staff has not always kept up with her increased care needs. The food is good. The layout of the community is good and the room sizes are good. They have an outdoor space for the residents. They have done a good job keeping the family involved during Covid-19 with pictures and other communication.

Not the right fit

We had a nice tour of Ashley Court of Brighton. The staff was very friendly and the community was very clean and well-kept. It seemed like the residents needed more care than my mom would require and we were looking for a community that would fit more into our budget plan.

Can elderly parents flourish with proper care?

My father is a resident at Ashley Court of Brighton for the last 18 months. He is 90 years old and requires full care due to onset of dementia, loss of vision and ambulatory skills. I live nearby the facility and visit several times a week at various times of the day and evening. I have always found the staff helpful and attentive to his needs. Further, I am amazed how he has actually flourished giving the daily challenges of his condition. He is seen by medical personnel regularly and has his personal grooming taken care of by onsite staff. Really eases the burden and worry of proper care and safety for aging parents.

I'm real happy with what's going on here.

I'm real happy with what's going on here. It's not perfect but it's right next to it. The facility is very clean and well kept. There is never any messes or odors. The staff is very friendly, nice, and accommodating. They have just been very helpful. The value is pretty good for the services you receive. They do a good job at taking care of my loved one. They offer a variety of activities. This is a nice community.

Friendly staff Would recommend

The care services depend on the aide and it is a lot of money. The smell of cover up deodorants is nasty. The core group of aides are helpful and kind. He is thriving in the environment where he was not at home. Good care, attention, activities. Buildings are dated and one still has carpet that holds odors. Was the least expensive

good activities and compassionate care but very costly

One of the things that we found suspect was that some residents had a roommate and had a significantly reduced monthly payment. We tried to get my Mom in a room with another resident who agreed and they said there was no "double " rooms available, but when I looked around I discovered that all the rooms were exactly the same. At the time they had vacant rooms so we think they would not put my mom with a roommate because of that. Also, my dad was there for one week before he passed and we had to pay the $[fee removed]fee that they called the "community fee for just that one week. Definitely overpriced.

Room for improvement

The staff were very friendly and knew how to approach and communicate with people with dementia. They did not provide very good care. Dad did not get his teeth brushed or shaved unless I requested. He was usually dressed in other peoples clothes. They had change in management a few months before dad passed away and the care seemed to digress

Balancing the good and less than good: our family's experience.

Overnight there was a great deal of noise, loud voices, vacuuming, disturbances. Med management was lacking. Some practices were also suspect, leaving my mother at times without her needs being met. Clients who needed extra management were left to wander, with one entering my mother's room and leaving a mess on and around the toilet. We were only there for 2 weeks. Had it not become apparent Mom would not be living much longer, I think i would have sought another care facility.
