Review for The Lakes at Banning

My loved one is comfortable at The Lakes Banning because my family members visit him often. The supervisor of caregivers is often hostile. A number of families have removed their loved ones. There are a lot of vacancies and caregivers are in short supply. We are so disappointed.

Tour Review

Our family had an in person tour with Valley Crest Memory Care and it was very depressing. Our mom isn't that bad and we did not care for it. The patients were in the reception area in wheelchairs and doors are locked 24/7.

Not the right fit

We toured the Sierra Vista Independent and Assisted Living. The staff members were friendly and helpful when they gave us the tour. It was not as kept-up as what we were looking for. It didn't smell good. We chose another community that fit our needs.

Time for a Makeover!

This community was very dingy and dark. It reminds me of a institution from off the television. The staff was friendly and super helpful. I would not take my loved one there simply because of the vibe that is given. They do offer activities for the residents.

Stay far away

I would tell anyone looking into this place to stay FAR FAR FAR FAR away. The residents walk around like zombies. They aren't supervised well enough. Specialized needs aren't taken care of. Residents can easily escape. There are too many residents for how many staff members there are. It is just a sad, hopeless, depressing facility. Residents of The Gardens are locked out of their rooms for the entire day and thus forced to find a worker to take them to an always locked restroom or their room to use. Since the facility is understaffed and the residents all have memory issues, this is just ridiculous. My dad went from never having had an accident to wearing an adult diaper in a matter of days. It's was so degrading We moved my dad out of there after six weeks. It would've been sooner but it took time to find a new facility.

No picnic at The Gardens

My loved one was previously a resident at The Gardens of Riverside and overall the experience at this facility was terrible. Some of the staff were nice and helpful. However, there were too many residents and not enough staff to monitor them. Most importantly, the residents are locked out of their rooms for the entire day. I would not recommend The Gardens of Riverside to others.

My Experience At Valley Crest Was Not That Great

Do not put your loved one here. The staff was fine except for the director. She didn't call me to tell me that my loved one had a fall. She called to ask me for some medical history, but did not say that the ambulance was there. I called Valley Crest to check on him, and they said they couldn't tell me anything, that the director was on the phone. I called every half hour and got the same response, that the director was still on the phone. So finally I came down there. When I got there, it took them 10 minutes to answer the door, and they told me she had already gone home and that nobody there was in charge. Only then did they tell me that my loved one had been taken to the hospital via ambulance. After he got out of the hospital, I took him home and would not bring him back to Valley Crest. The hospital determined he fainted because he had low pressure and was dehydrated. So I strongly question what kind of care was he receiving at Valley Crest. With Covid going on, it's hard to say what Valley Crest is like usually. Maybe it's a good place otherwise, but the experience I had personally was terrible.

STAY AWAY!!

There is a huge turnover in staff, and those that are hired are not qualified to care for our loved ones. My mother has been there for a few years now and if we had to do over again, this wouldn't be the place she would live. Unfortunately, taking her out of here now would cause more damage than good. When we question the care she is receiving, Renee tells us, "Well, you can move her." VC would like us to move her , because she is on the life long pricing which means they could fill her bed with a more lucrative resident. At this point, VC is doing what they can to shorten her life, to fill that bed when she passes (they've stopped meds and oxygen, as per Dr's orders). Stay away from this place. NOT A GOOD CHOICE FOR YOUR LOVED ONES.

I wouldn't reccommend them at all.

It was a whirlwind getting in and things weren't explained very well. When it came to pricing and billing, it was confusing. She passed and nobody knew when it happened. We got a call the following morning and they said she died last night, I just came on and found her. I wouldn't reccommend them at all.

Awful

This place is all smoke and mirrors. The only redeeming factor is that it is close to other senior communities that are better when you're ready to move out. The management is horrible, the maintenance is horrible, you'll fight the cockroaches for space and they overwork their poor staff to the point of insanity. The residents are miserable, they don't get the medications on time, if at all and they charge for stuff that was never providing. Run from this hole!

DO NOT CHOOSE MERIDIAN

Doesn't even deserve half a star!!! My great grandmother was a resident for almost 6 months at meridian. My family and I were assured she would be taken well taken care of. As many know it takes a leap of faith and requires blind trust in order to put your loved ones care into someone else that you have never really knew before. We were assured we could trust them so we decided to take a chance with them... Don't make the same mistake!!! We were constantly told that she got her required metrication that she needed daily and on occasion we would be told they needed more. However, recently we had noticed she had not been getting the needed care so my family and I reached the point to where we moved her. We moved her in to the new nursing home which is superb. But on return to pick up her medication we find out she had not been getting her doctor required medication that without was life threatening. The staff at meridian is great with the residents but the administration does not care about the residents. I advise to not use this facility for anybody.
