Highly recommend.

Staff is attentive and has responded to any concerns I have. They keep me updated on any needs my family member has. Gardens are very pretty and they have many activities to involve the family. I would highly recommend.

Friendly, caring staff

What our family likes the most about Sunlit Gardens is the staff members, they really do seem to care about the residents there. Based on the experience we have had so far, we would recommend this community to other families.

My Mom's new home

The residents steal stuff it's really frustrating Even if you have a name on it! So basicly your Loved one can have nothing of value! Other than that it's ok ! Clean pleasant staff and residents seem happy! Very pricey!

Review for Sunlit Gardens

Sunlit Gardens has caring staff, good food options, and limited but helpful activities. I appreciate how they have separate buildings for different stages of dementia/Alzheimer's. The facility is older and smaller than many facilities in the area, but it's well maintained. Staff turnover has been a recent issue, but other than that, I've been very happy with Sunlit Gardens.

Very Nice Community

The activities were fine - just not up my dad's alley (he's hard to please). We had just a couple small complaints about care, hence the 4 rating. Best: responsive staff, push button necklace for when he needed help, flexible meal times, friendly. Nice patio/indoor spaces- this was very important for us. Worst: I think they forgot to do his laundry on laundry day. His bedroom was very sparsely furnished.

Courtyard rooms are what makes this place

The apartment size is just fine for mom. Amenities are good from what I know. Mom's not a social bug, so she doesn't participate in activities so much. They have just seemed a bit short on staff lately. All in all everyone is friendly and very peaceful. Mom's happy here. The courtyard rooms are what makes this place, being able to look out and see the courtyard with flowers and such is makes mom the most happy. They do have inside rooms also.

Very nice community, would definitely recommend

Had some issues with billing but the Director got on top of things and straightened it out. The Director is 5 out of 5. The facility is not "high-end" and this makes it a good fit for our family. It is 5 out of 5 for meeting our needs. Quality of care might be higher since in our case care is also being provided by Hospice. The concerns we've had about oxygen might be on Hospice, not assisted living.

Count the cost

It is expensive and the family needs to provide toiletries and depends if needed. They will call an ambulance at the drop of a hat and you may have ambulance bill. Says it is all inclusive, but that is not 100% true.

Tour experience

Sierra Vista to us felt more like a hospital rather than senior living. Very sterile. We were there on a Saturday and we barely saw any residents, there was not much going on. I did like that they had cabanas with yards, those were nice. It is a smaller facility so there are less residents and activities. The people were all super friendly, it was just not what we were looking for.

Great place for the price.

It's a pretty good place. They do try their hardest to take care of the patients. The staff are very friendly. It looks like there are plenty of good activities. Sometimes we've had trouble with the night shift not changing our loved one's diaper right away, which caused breakouts and sores that have since healed after some time. Overall it's a pretty decent place for the price. They, like many other places, are just understaffed right now.

My personal observation

What we really like about The Gardens is one individual will be assigned to your loved one to care for them, but if your loved one ever needs help any staff members from the director to the maintenance team will assist. They are all so attentive and helpful. Even in the most difficult situations they seem to really be able to handle things in a very professional way. There is musical entertainment there and church services and we would recommend this community to other families.

Small and older facility; but good

The property is older, but well maintained! I really like that Sunlit Gardens has different buildings for different stages of dementia that you can move between depending on your needs. The food choices are good. The staff is caring, but they are a bit understaffed. Activities are pretty good, but there's nothing for the memory care residents in the evening - so there's a lot of blank time. They have far less amenities than the newer larger places, but what they do have is well done. They have great pricing and in general we're happy!

Tour of Crescendo

We had a very pleasant tour with Crescendo Senior Living. The reason we did not choose this facility was because it is two stories and we wanted someplace that was all on one floor.

Our Tour Experience

Overall I thought The Lakes at Banning was very nice. It was clean and all of those things. The people were very nice. For my personal taste, it was kind of dark in there with the furnishings and things. So it just didn't appeal to me. We didn't get to try the food here, but having moved into a different community, I would recommend that anywhere you go you try the actual food the residents are being served, if you can.

Good place for loved ones

They do a great job keeping the community very clean and the staff members are super friendly. The meals look wonderful and our loved one says the food is pretty good. The activities director [name removed] is a wonderful enthusiastic young gal, she is always encouraging the residents to get our of their rooms and get involved. The value for cost is very reasonable for everything they have to offer, there are some great care givers here. The kitchen staff and the front office staff is great.
