Mom is doing well at LE. She doesn't like the food much but she is a very picky eater and I am sure that would be a complaint of any facility!

If I could give this facility negative stars, I would. Both of beloved parents live there. It used to be called [community name removed] and in July it switched over to Spectrum. It was bad already, but under Spectrum it has gotten even worse. They are TERRIBLY understaffed. A caregiver approached me on a recent weekend and said, "This place is not safe. You should move your parents somewhere else." The food is not good. You cannot get anyone on the phone. Extremely lengthy response times to hitting call buttons. Activities are limited unless you like Bingo. They WILL NOT call you if there is a problem (parents getting Covid no call...parents falling down multiple times...no call). My dad fell down twice after NO RESPONSE from hitting the call buttons he just got up to do for themselves. We use [company name removed] for occupational therapy and they have said that the place is not good. Look elsewhere.

VERY unhappy with management. I they agree to whatever you ask, then once they deposit your check your loved ones do not receive promised amenities.. And decision makers do not communicate with you, they have staff who can do nothing call you and tell you what they did. Do not trust management and they need to be replaced ASAP.

This is one of the places we toured when looking for options. I would never recommend it to anyone. It was dark and dreary. [removed] When we were here there was a lady sleeping on the couch. I wasn't impressed.

Our family had an in person tour and we were so excited about the tour, however we 100% hated the experience. We put down a deposit for our loved one, and we ended up getting refunded later because they never lived up to their promises. It was very "car salesmen like" which we did not appreciate. The lady giving us all the information was all about business. The outside of the facility is very clean, and nice but the inside is the completely opposite. That is how they suck you in. It is not as clean as it appears, and it does not seem safe for those in wheelchairs. I would not put my best friends dog in Greenhaven.

If you love your loved ones, please don't place them there. There is a lack of care there for the residents, that is from management and on down the line of staff. When the residents press the call button , no one responds. My loved one contracted COVID-19 there. She was negative upon arrival of moving in there.

My grandfather was a resident at Colonial Oaks at Pearland & he wore a pendant around his neck to call for staff when he needed assistance. It always took at least over 2 hours or more before anyone would respond & they seemed more concerned in turning the alarm off on the pendant when they came in the room, than finding out what my grandfather needed. The food portions were quite small and if he wanted seconds, it was denied as he was always told there was no more food left. If he wanted food after meals, he was required to keep snacks to eat from what family brought in or what he could buy if they ever went to the grocery store. The trips outside the facility were frequently canceled that were suppose to allow residents to go shopping for groceries or personal items or even go to a restaurant but the one van they had available was broken so often that inevitably the trip would not occur. The main occupation was Bingo, & it had no real outside grounds to walk around. The little central outdoor courtyard they have, did not have any lounge chairs set out or any outdoor activities scheduled there. (Mealtime Service at Colonial Oaks in Pearland: Unreasonably Long Wait For Service) It was a common experience for my grandfather to go to his table and be forgotten. If you're lucky, a busser might pour you some water, but your server is busy elsewhere and the manager is either dealing with some other issue or simply out to lunch (even if it's dinnertime). There you sit with no drinks, no acknowledgement of your presence. Sure, things get very busy. But five or ten minutes of sitting and talking amongst yourselves is more than enough. It was not uncommon for residents to have to wait 30 minutes to an hour before being served when they had shown up on time in the dining room. It was much too long of a wait for my grandfather. The cable provided was quite basic with very limited selection, and my grandfather had no ability to fast forward past commercials, or to record any programs as it was not standard at Colonial Oaks at Pearland. If you wanted that kind of service for your TV, you were expected to not only pay for the exorbitant Assisted Living fee but also pay for a separate TV subscription out of you own pocket (essentially paying twice for the cable service)!! The cost charged at Colonial Oaks at Pearland is quite pricey for a place that seems altogether understaffed or at least with a staff that does not seem highly motivated. I would recommend looking elsewhere for your loved ones if you seek attentive care.

Initially, it was great; however, we were misinformed on the services (such as checking in on our mom and reminders on mealtimes and activities) that were considered “standard”; however, shortly after paying the $2500 community fee and moving in, things began to change rapidly. Within one week, they let go of their director and hired a new one, then another, then another. In a matter of 6 months, there were at least 4 different directors and the majority of the staff left. Staffing was scarce and those who were still there were overworked and miserable. We even found one sleeping at her desk one night (the sole caretaker working the evening shift). Their main caretaker is a piece of work—-lazy, rude, hateful (definitely in the wrong profession). She refuses to do anything one would consider common sense without threatening a price increase for care. It’s all about the bottom line for the latest director. Courtesies (such as checking on residents) is a thing in the past. Your are either completely independent or you must go into the memory care (or pay big bucks). We would have been willing to pay more if that is what it would take to have good quality care for our mom; however, we were not confident they could or would provide the care we wanted her to have. We have now moved her into a place that provides the additional care with KINDNESS and COMPASSION, unlike Solterra. It is more expensive, but so worth it!!! The good things about Solterra: food/menu is great, rooms are nice, some of the remaining caretakers are great (I.e., [name removed], [name removed]) The bad things about Solterra (other than caring for residents): always smells like urine. They claim they shampoo their main hallway carpets, but take a whiff and you’ll disagree. The plumbing is poor and good luck getting a quick response on a plunge. Their courtyard grass is always dead. Don’t let them tell you they are remodeling (it ain’t happening). Theater room sofas are soiled and stained with urine. It’s pretty disgusting in there. Just don’t move there if your love one requires “care”. If 100% independent with no cognition issues, it’s great. Otherwise, steer clear!

First of all we are no longer Brookdale we are Embark. And the quality of everything has gone down down down. I would NOT recommend moving here!!! We were without hot water 5 weeks. I have been needing repairs since the day I moved in a year ago. The Bistro is horrible! The new owners and staff talk down to us. They really don’t care .

Office staff is unprofessional and communication is non-existent. Some techs act like they're in high school with their cell phones. However, there are a few techs that actually care about the residents and their welfare and they are much appreciated. Management from HQ that was here for a few months was ineffective and unresponsive. So much turnover that no one knows what anyone is doing.

I went to tour the building and [name removed] the tour guide was extremely rude! He kept trying to push Jesus on us, even tho it's not supposed to be a religious place? We kept telling him we just wanted to see the rooms but he kept pushing the chapel and bible study. I found out that the nurses and the administrator came from Emanuel and were working there when those 2 residents escaped and one died! I got a really cold feeling talking with them all, I took my mother to the Legacy house and we felt so great there and they treated us so good, I signed my mother up and feel confident of her care, I'm sorry but I couldn't leave my mother at the Mission knowing there employees track record!

I was very excited about this facility for my parents since they have 2 bedroom apartments. But after doing some research I was very disappointed at what I learned. It seems they change management very frequently and there are a dozen complaints on file with the state. Even though it is very affordable I guess you get what you pay for.

Both my parents lived at Colonial Oaks. It is an overall nice facility and they do a great job of selling you on their services. Then it is downhill from there. After moving my parents in and after multiple requests, I was unable to get a copy of the countersigned contract. They suggested using OmniCare out of Nacogdoches for medications and never gave them the Medicare and AARP information and we are still trying to work through exactly how much is owed and how much insurance has paid. The medications were ordered and or shipped wrong and they dispersed too much of a medication causing significant issues with my mom, then started charging me more each month to take care of her. Again, without providing me any sort of countersigned contract or documentation. We are not sure of the long term health impact of over medicating her. The director, Lisa Gilles-Petruna, berated my parents and would no longer let them go on any bus trips or eat in the dining room. The team did not clean their bathroom, room or kitchen area. I had to go in once a week and clean. I gave notice to Colonial Oaks and it took a few emails to "negotiate" the final amount due. When I moved them out, Lisa committed to providing the care plan, medications and final bill. All we received was a trash bag of medications. Colonial Oaks never sent me anything and after a month of not receiving any response, I received a call from their collection agency. After the initial collections call, we were able to finalize the final payment. I would not recommend or trust Colonial Oaks.
