My Visit To The Community

The staff I met at this community were nice and knowledgeable. The rooms at this community seemed smaller. The price was comparable to the community we chose. This community seemed clean.

Overall first impressions were very favorable I liked the fact that it is a smaller facility and tonight the degree of care would be better However I think they are grossly understaffed and therefore my dad does not receive help when needed The response time to the call button is sometimes 30+ min he has soiled himself on multiple occasions and I have confronted the staff with my concerns and they seem to have a non caring attitude in hindsight I wish I would have had the time to vet the facility a little more thoroughly

Review for Legacy Ridge at Sweetwater Creek

It was smaller, so I felt there would be more attention to her needs. The respite room was private. They worked hard to try to accommodate her needs. They also accepted a credit card for payment. From my observations, the long term residents seemed happy and were clean and well kept. I would recommend as long as you are able to be heavily involved.

No yet licensed as an Assisted Living facility and from what I saw of the resident population, it simply didn't feel like it was the right place for [name removed]. However, [name removed], the new Marketing person was helpful and outstanding in terms of her knowledge and commitment regarding elder care.

I was very disappointed. It confirmed my fears. It was dirty and worn in places that simply required a good cleaning or a coat of of fresh paint.

Over The Top Staff!!

I loved the staff they are so wonderful. The care is good but we had an incident that wasn't noticed right away. Housekeeping kept her room clean and maintained. The community is very clean and has no smell. My only concern is there are lots of residents matching the ratio of staff.

Friendly people, but feels understaffed

Our experience with Brookdale Sweetwater Creek has been somewhat mixed. The people here are friendly and hardworking, but I really think they need more people on staff. They meet the GA state staffing requirements, but everyone seems stretched very thin.

Need Better Care of Residents

If some one needs assistance that is bed bound they do not change undergarments regularly. Hospice comes out three times a week to clean residents' undergarments. Need to hire more caregivers not enough to cover the care and hygiene. Facility is not supportive to our needs and concerns.

They are very unorganized, but when I first went to look at it, I didn't see it.

They are very unorganized, but when I first went to look at it, I didn't see it. It seems like they will agree with everything you say, then turn around behind your back. They showed us one room but then switched it with another room and the carpets weren't cleaned like they were supposed to be. The room they showed us had a kitchenette the one they put us in did not. The showers were different too, the one they showed us you could wheel a chair right in and the one we got has a lip you have to step over. They told us that we needed a certain level of care for assistance, and told us that covered certain things that it actually didn't cover, so then we had to up the level of care. They don't bathe her as often as they are supposed to. They don't do the laundry when they say they will. The CNA's medication records are so sloppy that certain things are not even being logged correctly, and they don't always bring it on time. You can only use one home health care company at the same time unless one doesn't offer the thing that is needed. The price seems awfully high for what you get. They do have a good amount of activities going on. The food is a little bland but it tastes okay.

Menu limited to Sandwiches

The facility is beautiful, but it is under staffed, and the menu is sandwiches 95% of the time. My mother has complained about the food from day one. If it isn't about the choices on the menu it is about the quantity. If she ask for more, they tell her they are out of it. I love the facility and the people I have worked with. However, it has its problems.

Although I did not like the property and the rooms were extremely tight, [name removed] is a jewel! She's called and offered additional suggestions to me and is so kind. She stayed late after her shift ended to walk me through when I visited last month.

Didn't get money's worth

She seems to have allergies to fluorescent lights, so she complained a lot about that and she had a difficult time making friends, I think this is pretty typical of seniors after a while, it's institutional food and it becomes pretty tasteless and there's not a lot of variety and she was really unhappy with the food. They didn't provide her medications at the time that she needed it, she called them and they wouldn't respond. She had a pretty large bathroom and the unit was a little larger in all, but she was pretty much unhappy there and the price went up while she was there. She was paying for the nursing services and she wasn't getting what she was paying for, especially for what it cost.

If you care for your love ones, keep stepping, this is not for you

[name removed] the facility representative did not enclose the truth to the family. It's way too much to text. One major thing was the alert necklaces never worked for the patients; even up to the time we left they still were not active nor working. The remembrance of finding your love one in situations were they needed help and was in an emergency status and could not get help due to the alert necklaces never worked but had everyone wearing them acting as if they work. As for as washing of clothes, due to the fact they wash all colors and whites together with boo-boo, towels and sheets, blankets never made since ruining over 5 t-shirts. First day of coming to the facility my husband was supposed to be check on 24 hours every 2 hours a day never happen. He also was in the same clothes the following morning having breakfast in the dining room then went to play Bingo in dirty soil underclothes that weren't change all nigh, but when we arrive to the facility we found him slumped down in his wheelchair with his walker and cane in front of him for many many of hours. It was disgusting and horrible plus of course there was many many other things and one care giver try starting a fight with his stepdaughter. Too many felt the facility was very understaff and overworked and should be shut down and remove all clients somewhere else. What I would like? I would like all my money back including the [amount removed] administrator cost [amount removed] for a monthly cost Should APS be call? Absolutely..

Our experience with Legacy Ridge

We had a very bad experience with Legacy Ridge, they did not follow through on their promises. On our way to move our loved one in, they told us that she was no longer able to stay there even though everything was signed and we had a room picked out. After paying all of the move in fees and first months rent, we never got any money back. There was no cooperation from the staff.

Don't allow your loved ones here for a minute!

I think the staff might have submitted the other reviews for self preservation reasons. this place is horrible. there are no activities for the dementia/Alzheimer patients. there is limited care for these patients. they are kept in a locked section with only activity is to be stuck in front of a television set. the rooms smell because no one cleans. the staff are busy on their cell phones. the patient belongings come up missing. they don't honor the special prices when you sign the paperwork so wait for the surprise in the mail. medication? not sure if that is possible when there is so much anxiety seen in the patients. Do not put your loved ones here if they need the assistance!!! They only care about the money.

Nice place on the outside and rooms aren't bad. The staff is another issue. Very slow and un-consistant on medication and diabetic testing. They are not provide level of care that we are paying for. She's only been there 5 weeks, and it is going down hill.
