Care started out great but has went down greatly in the last year.High staff turnover appears to be only part of the problem.

To be honest I am a little disappointed with this facility. When I signed a contract it was for a specific amount and they aren’t holding true to that. I recently found out the staff held a meeting that neither my brother nor I was aware of regarding upping the rent. The food service here is subpar and the more time that passes, the worse it gets. When my brother was admitted here he had an order for a wheelchair and a walker. They didn’t supply it until recently and honestly, it looks like they were given to him from a resident that had passed away. This facility is a 2.5 at best. I like the overall concept of this community but they aren’t living up to what it’s supposed to be. The few staff members I’ve interacted with are friendly and nice. The building is also well kept, clean, and there isn’t an odor.

I have visited this property MANY times. I have been more pleased these last few times I've made unannounced appearances. I was on site when they had a small fire in one of the rooms. I was aghast when Employees rushed to rescue the bird in a cage from the lobby but left residents to fend for themselves. I was floored. I was viewing my worst nightmare in real time. Their meager hourly wage was not enough to massage their hearts into action. Residents were screaming, begging for assistance. I was able to pull, push, or pair up weaker residents with healthier ambulatory residents or visitors so they could find their way to fresh air. The heavy hallway doors had closed to prevent or lessen smoke and fire from reaching other areas. But...here's my big butt, and it's a BIG ONE...non-ambulatory residents (bed ridden, wheelchair bound, walker dependent, and those with oxygen tanks) were unable to pull, push, or navigate them in any way. They were trapped.

I toured Court at Round Rock while looking for living options for my loved one. I thought that this community was ok, but that it just seemed kind of sterile to me. I was hoping for something less institutional with a more comfortable feel.

The place is ok, they have lots of room to grow and get better. I don't agree completely with the comments below that the place is safe. There is never anyone at the front desk at night or on the weekend and I worry strangers can walk in and around with no one stopping them. My mom likes it well enough but I am worried that if her condition gets worse, the facility won't be able to accommodate her because of the set up, no walk in showers, no automatic doors. How do you age in place in a facility that is not set up for you to age in place. Food is not as good as it was when we moved in. I think people should give there options here without being ridiculed or lectured. This is a hard decision so never stop listening to what people say, no one knows who is guilty or not. You are not placing a plant you are placing someone you love. This is the hardest decision we have ever made. I never post but I had to. Not nice to attack people for their comments. This place is are very short staffed. Especially on the weekends. That also worries me. There is a nice young girl named [Removed] who is good with activities and she talks to the residents.

They try but they miss the mark in the area of care. They are focused on the busy work and not the residents. There are a few really special CNAS but they are all to busy setting up the dining room and doing laundry to relate, socialize and learn the residents. They have lost some really great CNAS which is a loss to the community and the residents. Residents are leaving and are looking to leave because of the care and unintentional neglect. There are not enough CNAs to provide good care. Management is not focused on the residents needs and instead are quick to say what they can't do. I will say the community is a safe environment. There is a feeling of trust in the hallways. Residents sleep with their doors open and there are cameras in the common areas to ensure safety. The place is nice but has a cold feel, not sure why. The activities are not age appropriate. Old doesn't mean childlike. Not enough attention is given to socialization and resident enrichment. I don't think anyone in management and activities knows how nor is it a priority. It takes a special mindset to care, enrich and house seniors in a way that brings joy, contentment and stimulation. Antebellum doesn't have a clue on how to do this. You have to see the importance of it before you can implement it. I don't think they even know it is missing.

There are very few handicapped rooms here. With so many people in wheelchairs, they should have more rooms with roll in showers. Quick to point out the state only requires them to have X amount of handicapped accessible rooms. Inflexible when asked to convert more rooms into accessible rooms. More staff needed as there are often long wait times for help. Management seem to just repeat the corporate tag line. Much more emphasis needed on the residents and their needs. It is after all about the residents. I wouldn't discount this place when looking for a place for your loved ones. Ask a lot of questions and really drill them on what you should expect around care. Get their commitment to you in writing. While it doesn't sound like it, I like this place for my loved one. This place is beautiful and well maintained. Residents seem happy. Food is tasty although more veggies are needed. Inflexible there too.

The community needs to be kept up a little more, but they are working on it. The food was not real easy for my sister to eat. The activities were good,but I am not sure if she was able to join in on alot of activities. We were happy with the community.

I was not impressed. The person that was giving the tour told us that you want to look at that people living there, that they are moving about and are engaged. The only two ladies we saw were sitting in chairs falling asleep. My husband and I started joking calling it the zombie place. It was cheaper, but mom thought that the hallways were dark, and happy hour was just a folding table with a cloth and people weren't even really talking.

We were sold that the monthly “rate” was all inclusive and it would not increase as more care would be needed; well within 2 months additional fees started to be added and priced my dad out of what he could afford. The meals were less than desirable and the residents were required to circle the meal and when you are shaking I’m sure the service staff had to guess what was being chosen. There were 3 different cooks in the 2 & 1/2 months he was there. The direct told me I should not email her as she just forwards them to handles it and I should take more cards so I can email the correct person. I shouldn’t have to figure out who handles what and felt she should be aware of what was going on.

Our experience with The Pointe At Cedar Park was not good, it was a negative experience. At times they did not have adequate staffing and we would not recommend them.

The introduction cookies were really good…where did that level of quality go? The attitude of the “care givers”…poor for the most part. The rules about family and friends not being able to attend meals, even if a resident needs help cutting their food…they are not allowed to come help. Caregivers not closely watching over a resident who is at high risk of falling. Care givers insisting on an early bedtime just to be finished getting everyone ‘taken care of…’ clearly without regard to the tiredness of the resident. Dining room issues, everyday they are out of something residents want and expect to have… Ketchup, Coffee creamer…ice cream to name a few.…Poor or no response to the emergency call buttons…Complaints taken to management…not acted upon. They have an entire set of excuses, to avoid dealing with their poor quality staff. This place is such a disappointment, I really do not have words to express how poorly it is run. Beware…it is not what it looks like at first glance.

We picked this community, because of the cost, and relative location. Th activities manager was constantly pulled away from supporting residents and was asked to do sales instead. They are short staffed, so lots of things fall through the cracks. My loved ones nutrition and eating habits did improve while there. The shuttle driver quit so they didn't get to go to a lot of events.

We weren't able to see the entire community during the tour. The pricing seemed expensive, and the community seemed empty. We didn't see any residents, and hardly any staff.

My mother is a resident and the staff are lovely people. It is very clean & updated decor with nice activities. The food has become a joke. Chicken nuggets one day, a greasy slice of pizza the next, green peas 5 out of 7 days. Not healthy at all. People are healthier and happier when served well balanced and fresh food options. I didn't want to give a poor review, but the management refuses to acknowledge the issue.

Our Dad hasn’t been getting his Rx’s for over two weeks now! He had bloodwork done & his Throid level was off the charts! Heard new mgmt is now there. Head mgr is named [name removed]. Not impressed Also, at 7:30 am this morning, no one was sitting at the front desk! Not happy with this & more!

Greatwood is a nice facility, but the staff did not seem very engaged. It felt more nursing home like and everything was enclosed which is why my loved ones did not choose this facility.

We toured this community and the staff was very nice. The community looked run down and everything was very outdated. It did not fit our needs.

We had both of my grandparents at this facility and had a very bad experience at Greatwood. I kept trying to pay the deposit and they would say they would get it later. The director called me asking why I owed them 12,000 dollars and I told her we tried to pay them and they wouldn't accept it. I found out they were charging both my grandparents $5 a meal even though my grandma wasn't even eating and my grandpa did not sign up for food delivery. My grandpa had to go in the hospital and stayed a couple of days. When he tried to come back, they said that he was not allowed here. My grandma was not doing well at this point. The facility gave us 2 hours to move both of my grandparents out and I had to end up moving them into my living room. The staff members here were not friendly or understanding. I would not recommend this community to anyone.
