A staff member promised a resident a free bed, saying they would deliver it when she moved into her new apartment the following day. They never came up with the bed. The mentally and physically disabled woman had no place to sleep, ending up sleeping in the lounge of the apartment building, where she now resided. And she had none of her belongings. I went over the next day, and after calling 911 for the woman, who was now too sick to stand up, I went over to the Promenade to complain. They could not care less, and thought it was amusing. I moved all the woman's belongs to the new apartment. A few aids were helpful in packing, but the administrators treated me as if I was the problem.

The "gourmet food" often consists of sandwiches. There are constant issues with residence belongings being "misplaced". If that wasn't enough when you're tucked in make sure the bed bugs don't bite which is to be taken quite literally. The facility looks nice on the inside and even during a quick walk around tour it seems like there is much more serious concerns that are not apparent initially

Third month for my father in this place. For anyone who is planning to enroll their family members in this place, I would like to share my unpleasant experience to help you understand how the "racquet" works here. We are self pay, firs of all. That is very important here. If you are being paid for by medicaid, my guess is that they can easily soak them for claims of providing the residents with extra services where they upcharge them from $20 to $80 per day extra for services they "claim" they are providing a specific individual. At the very start of only the second week, they claimed my father needed the following extra services fir an extra $40 per day equal to $1200 more per month. The extra services they "claim" he needed are as follows: 1. Help showering. 2. Help putting his laundry away. 3. Help going to the bathroom. After being forced to sign a document that claimed he needed this, and that I give them permission to charge extra for the services, not one of them has to this day been provided to him by any of the staff. Be very careful with this place. They are geared up to take elderly peoples hard earned savings. Now that I am questioning these non-provided services, nobody returns my phone calls. I am the power of attorney.

The facility changed names so many times that it's difficult to know if it's under the same ownership or administration. However, having said that, while it was the Esplanade and subsequently the Promenade, the service left a lot to be desired. The lowest paid staff was adequate enough but due to language barriers they were unable to help the residents much at all. The senior staff however as well as the nursing staff was another story. I don't know why they have a nursing staff at all since they will not even attend to a bleeding wound, let it get infected, and then just send people to the hospital. They will not treat residents even to the extent of applying salve on festering scabs. The administrative staff is even worse. All they care about is money and how to charge as much as possible. This is a real "cancer" in the senior care industry. The owners sit in Boca Raton and Palm Springs and dictate to hired help to charge whatever they can and as often as they can. Unfortunately the government agencies that are entrusted with the duty to supervise the industry, only look at the nice decor and don't give a darn about the actual care provided to the residents. There is actually no adequate supervision of the entire industry. It's just a huge "rip off" and unfortunately the loved ones just pay and pay, and the residents suffer.

My aunt was there when it was South Winds. Very nice. Then Promenade took over. Yes they re=decorated the main lobby and some rooms and it looks beautiful. But the resident care is horrible. All they want is to raise the residents rent, saying their care level has gone up when we the family was bathing our aunt and doing her wash. they did less care but would not care. The same staff that served meals were the same people that showered the residents. but by the time they were done in the kitchen it was late and my aunt was too tired by then. People walk around not able to find their rooms no one helps them. The administrator does nothing , his excuse is he is new and doesn't know the routine there. Always have the wrong clothes in her closet, and now that she has just passed away, no one called to express any condolences, I had to call to say her room would be emptied in 2 days. then I hear how sorry they are that she passed away. Useless they should of called me. Now they wont return my security because of a paper I did sign saying you don't get the security back because it goes to air conditioning and parties. But of course my signing wasn't on that page of many but just sign on the first and last page. So they did slip that past me. I would not trust these people with my pets! So beware !
