At first the facility seemed to be welcoming and open in terms of communication. Hindsight lets me believe it was because they were not at capacity, although that is opinion. Within the first two weeks, my loved one escaped through the garden. The staff did not contact us until AFTER they found her, she had been gone for at least an hour. For after hours visits (after 8pm), we had to be buzzed in and out of the facility. There were instances that we had to wake staff up off of the sofa to be buzzed out. Within six months of our loved one's arrival, they had moved her to the highest level of care without notifying us that there was an evaluation or that they were witnessing deterioration. During her time there, they took her to the hospital on multiple occasions, NEVER notifying us until we received bills. They tests they gave permission to were ridiculous. Overall, the facility looked good, but our loved one's room was a different story. We often saw trash piled, brought her laundry home to do it, noticed that sheets were missing, and saw clothes that weren't hers. Saturated sheets would be left in the hamper, so the room smelled horrible. There were a few occasions where we had to clean feces off of the wall. I don't believe that cleaning services came. The food smelled good, came lukewarm in Styrofoam containers, but was elementary style school meals. Within the last 8-10 weeks of her life, they asked us to bring in a sitter service as our loved one was becoming a bit catatonic and would fall off sofas or out of her wheelchair that they didn't engage the brakes on. I honestly don't feel like they were caring for her much at all. They started to care when she was actually dying, they came in to say their goodbyes. I understand that it is a business, but as we were bedside listening to her respirations slow, a tour was being given by the facility director right outside of her door. I overheard the director tell the couple who were touring "These rooms are more private and we will have an opening here shortly." The lack of tact was deplorable. When she passed a few hours later, the hospice nurse and social worker asked us to step outside the room as our loved one was prepared for transport. The same director giving another tour told the couple touring that the room (one next to ours) had a Jack-and-Jill bathroom, come on, come take a look. I was terrified that they would walk into our room. The husband seemed to have quickly understood what had JUST happened and grabbed his wife from entering the room. The director simply looked at my husband and I and asked if we were having a good day. Overall, for us: Understaffing, lack of interest, and lack of support equal an experience I do not wish on other families.

Since [date removed] the facility has lost over a dozen tenured CNA employees. The physical facility is not as clean as it once was, inside and outside are in need. The food is below standard after Navion changed vendors in [date removed]. Food choices and menus are limited by Navion rules. Wait times are long after necklace pager is activated. Second and overnight shifts are staffed by agency employees.

I would recommend you choose another community for your loved one. The food is very minimal for the residents. There are times my loved has received hot dogs or sandwiches for dinner. The price my loved one is paying doesn't justify the small amount of food my loved one is receiving. There are three meals a day served to the residents, and the dining room has had low staffing to assist with providing the residents with choices for meals.

I wouldn't recommend the community to others for their loved ones. My loved one declined after being in the community. Even after my loved one was declining the staff would continue to care for my loved one the same. The times that my loved one needed assistance with toileting and they would just leave the urinal with my loved one and didn't assist my loved one, for example. There were multiple times that family members were visiting my loved one, and the call button was pushed, and no staff responded. In this case, my loved one had to have the family members assist with the care and this was upsetting to use. I didn't feel the aides were attentive to my loved one's needs. Hospice came in and stated my loved one needed to be moved to a hospice house. The community tried to stop our loved one from leaving the community, and this was very upsetting to the family. The community was trying to convince the family that they could provide the same care, and we found out they couldn't after moving to the hospice house.

We toured with The Legacy at Southpointe Drive and we did not like the fact that they separate out the memory care residents form the assisted living residents. We went to look at the memory care side of the facility and it was very crummy. Not a place I would want my loved one.

This facility's memory care is lacking in skills on how to redirect patients, inability to handle family concerns, and following patient medication protocol. Also, they are not qualified to handle sun downer agitation without medicating the patient. Very disappointed on the level of care given to my loved one.

They give you a price, and then when you get there, they add a LOT of money on to how much you have to pay. The do a good job with the care. And the activates are good, although I would like to see maybe more of them. But I was very disappointed in the price increase once we got our loved one moved in.

They're having serious staffing problems right now. With the staff that are there, you have the good and the bad. The food was terrible in the beginning, but it's getting better. They especially have trouble keeping kitchen staff. The facility itself is okay. Recently they have new ownership, and I don't know yet how that will go. I don't know what their feelings are on certain things and if things will get better or not.

a majority of the staff at The Reserve are not trained, nor have the heart for assisted living and helping the elderly. there was no support with upper management; and I am confident that my expectations were not above and beyond or extravagant in nature. I gave this community a lot of chances before we made the decision to move my loved ones elsewhere. there is an extreme lack of staff here, which resulted in a high turnover rate. my loved ones saw new faces almost everyday. the revolving door of different staff members created a lack of patience with my loved ones and the inability to connect with them on a personal level. one of my loved ones was in need of memory care and some of the newer staff would often upset her by telling her she couldn't wear a particular item of clothing - something that did not effect her health or care. they never took the time to learn what she likes or dislikes or figuring out the best way to approach her care and needs. if she said "no" to something, she was often left in the room with not further attempts to engage her in whatever it was they asked - from activities to using the restroom. we noticed a lot of the staff members on their phones, on social media and not actively caring for residents. I truly believe that when management has low expectations for staff and lets them get away with things out of fear of losing people; that shows in the quality of care and service. where my loved ones are now, they have only been there for 1 month, but we all love it. from the food to the staff, everything has been a complete 180. the management there has high expectations for staff and it really shows in how the residents are being treated. I have never seen any staff member on their phones. they make it a priority to engage and interact residents in activities and conversations. they don't allow them to just sit in their rooms all day. when we initially moved into The Reserve, the food was great and the staff seemed okay. they had a couple lockdowns, and it seems like the level of care and service slowly declined from there. I blamed Covid for a while, but quickly came to realize that Covid wasn't the case. prior to The Reserve, my loved ones stayed at home but could no longer care for themselves. we made the difficult decision of moving them into an assisted living community. they spent 6 months here and from our experience, I would not recommend this community to others. it pains me to leave a negative review; but if my bestfriend were to ask if they should move their loved one in, I would have to tell them "only as a last resort". if your loved one(s) are not independent and need assistance throughout the day, I would chose this community ONLY if it's your very last option. it's important to note that The Reserve is a beautiful community. the rooms are lovely, and the hallways look very nice. but those visual things aren't taking care of your parents. the staff and management are.

I would tell others that my mom has got severe Alzheimers, but she is not in memory care. So every week for 5 weeks I went in on a Sunday to find her wearing soiled briefs. I have complained and I would still go in there and find her to be that way. They were not keeping her clean or taking good care of her. The communication has not been good and they do not respond in a timely manner when I reach out about issues. But the director has been responsive and things have improved a little bit. We have not been very happy with our experience here.

We actually the took our loved one out of the community because she was not receiving the care she needed. She constantly got UTI infections, and had to go to the emergency room. They pretty much kept her to her room and down in her bed with the medicines she was taking. We do not think they checked on her as much as they said they would, and there was also a constant change in staff.

Nice building but high staff turnover, staffing agency is used so residents have different caregivers every day who are just there for the paycheck. Our loved one was left alone most days, sometimes wearing other people's clothing, dirty stained clothing, and some personal items went missing. Definitely not worth the high price.

I would tell my friends not to do it. When I first moved my loved one there, everyone was sweet and happy. Once I signed him in, the whole experience changed. My loved one's room wasn't clean.
