The facility is understaffed, laundry items may come up missing, cleanliness is concerning regarding resident rooms. They could hire on more professionals to be fully staffed as this is private care and ensure that residents, along with their areas, are maintained properly. They are supposed to be starting on renovations, I haven't seen any change yet. At this time, I would not recommend this facility to others.

Knollwood Pointe offered a wide range of activities, they would take the residents on small trips. They would play games and all sing together. It is a place where you would want your loved one to be, it is very inviting.

We really liked the community and we were set to move my loved in one after an assessment they said my loved one has early memory issues. They were not a fit for the community but when we took them to a different community they did not see an memory issues.

Has health services right on site, but since it does not have a contract with my Dad's medi-gap coverage could be of limited use for him; also the size would be overwhelming for him, plus dining hall is in a separate building from the independent living spaces we saw, and must cross a well-used parking lot to access. The buildings are beginning to look a bit worse for the wear. They do have a continuum of care, however, which would be nice as Dad ages.

My Dad had an overall positive experience, but the nursing and administrative situation was not good at times, and we had an awful experience at the end. They had ZERO medical records for my Dad. Dad used their doctor, and they had no medical history. They didn't even know my Dad had congestive heart failure. When I asked about it, they told me they were not required to have medical records. That is not true. Also, I came and found him slumped over in a wheelchair on Christmas Eve morning. The morning nurse said she had been told he had been there for hours like that. No one called me. No one called an ambulance all night. He was virtually non-responsive. He had never used a wheelchair before. No one from Knollwood took any initiative to reach out to us or explain the situation or even check on Dad. Dad never recovered & passed away on [date removed].

He lost so much weight that they said they had to discharge him. Depressing environment and probably underpaid and unmotivated. Probably a "get what you pay for" scenario as the cost was at the bottom of the range. Obviously no money going into upgrades.

The staff is not nearly as attentive as they should be, probably because they are understaffed. I think it should be known that in the memory care unit at night, there is no one watching and there were 2 separate men with dementia that entered my grandmothers room too many times to count and tried to get in bed with her. I know they have dementia and it's not their fault, but staff should have some sort of alarm system for those who roam the halls at night. I feel like the simply assisted living side of the building would be fine with the amount of supervision, it was just not simply enough for memory care. We stayed 2 weeks before moving out of the facility. It was an expensive lesson to learn

I worked with Knollwood Pointe for months before moving my mother in. On the front end, they really sell it well. Despite me expressing concerns over this and that, they assured me my mother was a perfect candidate for this facility. It should have been a red flag that before she even moved in there was SO much turnover in staff from everyone from the sales director to the executive director. Once she moved in, almost all communication ceased. I couldn’t get anyone on the phone to see how she was, ever. I had to authorize her simply getting Tylenol and couldn’t get a call back for days, leaving her in pain. It definitely wasn’t the level of care she needed, but as a whole the facility is understaffed and it shows.
