The residents and staff here have become like family where we each care for the other. Many of the staff here do things for the residents that they do not have to do but because they care to do so.

This place is God sent! I had a stroke, and thought my life was over. I found Knollwood Pointe, the healthcare here has helped me to have my life back. I felt at home from the time I entered the front door. I was greeted with love, kindness, and a special care like no other place I had been. The director { Venessa Cooks} is like no other, she greets each resident on a daily basis with concern, and a caring smile. This community is the best place I could have ever imagined!

Everything is great except they don’t do a good job at all at cleaning their rooms! There’s always food crumbs and dirt on the floor. Other than that, the staff is very friendly and do a good job. They’re always contacting me with any issues.

The activities get a 5!!!! Since we moved Dad in [date removed], the executive director position has changed hands 4 times. That is what I have not been pleased with. Also, no one contacts me when this occurs, so communication on the leadership level has not been good. However, we have a great ED now who has a history of competence and longevity. Also, their nursing staff has had a huge turnover rate since we came, so some I've liked and some I haven't. I am paying a sitter to come 4 hours a day to make sure nothing is falling through the cracks medically. So, it has been somewhat stressful on my end. However, my Dad has THRIVED at Knollwood. It has a family atmosphere. He loves the other residents. The activity director, [name removed] is phenomenal. He loves the food, etc. So, while I have had some concerns for sure, Dad has loved it, so I would recommend it for that reason.

The value for the money was what really stuck out to me about Gordon Oaks over other places I saw. After visiting, I felt confident that this was the best place possible to place my Mom. The staff is friendly and attentive.

Knollwood Pointe was old and dirty to me. But Each person I had appointments with were very nice and wanted to sell the facility, but they just weren't a fit for us but definitely might be for others...

We toured Knollwood Pointe when searching for Assisted Living for our loved one. This facility was very good. The cleanliness, friendliness, and atmosphere all seemed very good based on what we saw from our tour.

Things are going good for us at Knollwood Pointe. They have been very accommodating and helped us with the whole move in process. They offer assisted living as well as memory care. It is a smaller facility that is more personal and family oriented. When you talk to them about what needs to be done, they take care of it right away. I certainly recommend them to other families.

My best experience has been with the nursing staff. The head nurse keeps our family informed on a regular basis. She is not an alarmist, which we appreciative. At a previous facility, we were getting constant unnecessary calls about normal dementia behaviors, and that doesn't happen here. The head nurse is very attentive and responsive to our needs and requests. So we feel very comfortable with the nursing staff. I wasn't as comfortable with the admissions folks, but the nurse has been great. We've had some issues with clothes getting lost, or we've have seen them on other residents. But I understand those things happen. Overall I think it's a very good value.

This is a very nice mid level community. It is like a Holiday Inn Hotel level of communities. The staff are very nice and accommodating towards the family and residents. My loved one loved the food. Some of the activities offered include arts and crafts, exercises, holiday celebrations, and more for the residents to choose from.

Didn't like the shower setup or the memory care being on the second floor. They are working on renovating. The tour was informative, very detailed, professional tour.

Pros: Great fit for our Mom. Attentive and professional staff. Good meals. Con: Questionable business practices by ownership. Monthly fee was increased by nearly 20% less than 6 months after we signed up and Mom moved in. We should have been informed about planned rate increases during our sign in process. The increase was legal and allowed under our agreement. But as a matter of transparent and above-board business practice, the increase should have bee n communicated to prospects. I am certain that ownership had plans for the increase at the time we were searching for a place for Mom.

While searching for an assisted living facility I visited Knollwood Pointe, and after a thorough tour, I felt as if I has found my home! It is exceptionally clean, new friendly. My apartment is cleaned, my laundry done, nurses on duty 24 hours, my meals prepared, activities to participate in, beauty salon on the premise, lovely courtyard and patio, porch with rolling chair. This is why I am happy to call Knollwood Pointe home!

When it became necessary to go into an assisted living facility, I chose Knollwood Pointe because it was small in my neighborhood and church parish it is clean and attractively decorated. There is a lovely garden courtyard outside of my window. The care givers are unfailingly kind and pleasant. The staff is available and helpful. The food is adequate activities are provided. It is my home now.

There are not enough staff. It is difficult for patients in their room to contact staff in an emergency ...only call button is in the bathroom.

They seem to have a lot of staff turnover since Tarantino took over management. We did have an incident with a couple of PRN CNA's working one weekend. The director promptly addressed the problem and those people were fired. The facility is in need of some TLC, particularly the flooring in public spaces and landscaping. They keep saying they have a contract to get the floors replaced, but I've been hearing that for months and nothing has been done. We can't really afford the best though. So it works for our budget. I just have to visit frequently to make sure Mom is getting the care that she needs.

Cleanliness- seems to be clean but dingy. Carpet needs replacing. Friendliness- aides are friendly as is office staff. Some nurses leave much to be desired. It does NO good to call on phone as you can't get a person. Leaving a message is a waste of time. Quality of care-leaves you wondering if you have done the right thing. He doesn't seem to be showered on schedule. Fingernails are always dirty. Stays in adult underwear/diaper for extended periods. Activities-only know about planting residents in front of the TV. These are memory care residents. Value-we liked this facility for the separate areas for activities, dining, and TV. It was also the cheapest but we liked it best. I am not sure that there is a place for 100% satisfaction. Price is going up 20%. Food-what I have seen looks good but since residents don't have knives to cut food, they pick it up with fingers if a fork won't cut it. If bread gets too browned, it gets served anyway. Ice cream gets put out while dinner plate is still quite full which causes one of two things: it melts or they quit the food for the ice cream!
