We have toured and are happy with this community. Nice facility and grounds. Built on 2 floors and has a few elevators. Meals are regimented. Didn't see all amenities.

Better than Garden Club, but still felt like a big compromise. The only reason this would be a choice is their permission of smoking.

The community is very nice. The studio is a little lack-luster compared to others because it is just a rectangle room and does not feature a full kitchen. The director has been fantastic at working with us on pricing and was even willing to find a room closer to the dinning hall (which is a necessity due to the effort it takes my father to walk.) It is not completely off the list in my eyes.

Some units are terrific, My in-laws have a corner unit with a porch and separate entrance, Food was better in the beginning. They could do better with the Jewish residents who do not eat pork by giving more variety of options. They have cover parking, Overall it has been a positive experience

I have heard from other residents that this community is poorly run and they have a high staff turnover. People did not seem impressed with this community. We did not like the room we were shown. The dining room is run like a cruise ship and the food is cold by the time you receive it. They do not offer a lot of different food choices.

My Mom has been here for a little more than a month. Not totally convinced how great this place is. She is in a two bedroom and supposed to be on a waitlist for a one bedroom and twice a one bedroom has become available but they did not notify us. Guess they just want your money.. It's a lot of money for so-so entertainment and food. Typical senior citizen food. Feels like a cult atmosphere. The jury is still out on this one.

Cottonwood was chosen by my parents as the best community for them. Their only major complaint is the menu and the inadequate amount of food. U have talked to many of the other residence and they all agree the food could be better.....especially supper. Ex: the egg salad sandwich had no condiments on it and LESS than 1 tablespoon of egg salad. Everyone does understand this is a Holiday directive as to how the meals are made and served. This has nothing to do with the fabulous mgrs. holiday might consider a one on one meeting with just residents. Residents are afraid if they complain it will either be taken out on them or on the managers. No complaints except 85% of the food. Breakfast: very seldom any meat. Why?? The hospital food which is prepared for 1000s is actually better than what Cottonwood is serving at this moment.

The first month my mother was there they went through three managers. There is no consistency and they lost our paperwork so all the agreements that we made when we moved in, no one knows about them. Right now it's an absolute nightmare and I'm looking at moving her out. We're really not happy. I'm trying to be positive but my mom is miserable. She doesn't even know about the paperwork side of it but when you walk out into the hallway it smells like urine. Her apartment itself is okay because we've made it that way. The food is subpar and the place just smells and that was my worst nightmare, to put my mom in a place that smelled like a nursing home. They're promising me it's going to get better but when you go through three managers in one month something is wrong. I don't even have a final contract so I'm a little bit nervous about what might be coming my way.

It started off nice....my dad seemed happy at first...but within two weeks...he wanted to leave...of course management told him he signed a 90 day contract and if he left he wouldn't get his VA which he had applied for while he was there. We were shocked that they would tell my dad this and we decided to move him out. It seemed like a threat to keep him there. The few people I met were very friend...some not so much. People that worked there for the most part were very friendly....but I myself wouldn't stay there.

I did not like that at all. Not at all! It was dark and they had all these people crammed into these little tables. They had set dinner and meal times and that just wasn't a good thing. I didn't like the rooms. I knew as soon as I walked in that I wouldn't live there and I wouldn't put my mother someplace I wouldn't live. It did have lots of acreage but it was pretty pricey.
