The staff that I dealt with were super nice. They had just gotten a brand new community director, so I tried to give them some grace as he was getting acclimated. Thing might be better now that he's been there longer. But the staff were very helpful and seemed to really care. The day we dropped her off, I was not all that impressed, especially for a respite stay. We had to bring everything, including a shower curtain and her own toilet paper. When we got there to her room, there were still dirty sheets on the bed with dog hair all over them. They took care of it pretty quickly. I just wish the room had been ready for her. The room in general just didn't feel clean. It was dusty. They also told us that they did laundry every few days, but later I found dirty clothes stuck in the closet and on the shelf where her clean clothes were. She has dementia, so I think they just needed to be more on top of things with her and coach her more. I wasn't able to visit as much with Covid and couldn't tell what was going on. They told us their meals were chef prepared, but the one lunch I saw was something I could have prepared and was delivered cold. So I wasn't impressed, but I'm not sure what the other meals were like. She also had a health condition that required pushing lots of water, and I only saw an 8-oz glass of iced tea and a 4-oz glass of water. So I don't think they were pushing the water for her. But they just had a new director, and Snowmageddon had just happened. If I were talking to someone, I would say go visit because things may be better. I'd like to give credit to one of the maintenance workers. When we got there, we had to bring her own TV, and he worked really hard to make sure that got set up for her. He was so nice. She only had a bed in her room at the time, and he went and got a recliner for her so she would have something to sit in in her room. He was fabulous. And I really did like that the community is kind of away from things. She had a pretty view out her window and could watch the deer. So the aesthetics of the place, especially the outside, were very nice.

The food is wonderful, well balanced and a dessert always follows the noon meal. But... there are serious concerns with management and cleanliness.

My loved one really likes living here so far. The place is kept very clean and the staff are all friendly. The only main complaint is the food. She says that the meals are not very balanced and that they could maybe add more fresh fruits or vegetables. Other than that, though, everything has been great and she is really liking it here.

Sodalis was a wonderful place to live up to 6 months ago. the director was on top of everything and the activities manager was very engaging and kept everyone laughing. Now there is serious concerns: the new director is sweet, but there is no follow through with problems, residents are not getting their medicine as prescribed, cleanliness is lacking, staff is decreasing instead of increasing causing the few who are employed to not be able to keep of with the residents needs and are over worked. Numerous residents have pasted since the disturbance in care during the evacuation from the flood and numerous moves. Families have moved their love ones for lack of care. Sodalis is very expensive for glorified babysitting. Hopefully things will turn around in the future for the existing residents sake.

There are not enough workers for the number of residents. They sell you on the fact that they check on each person every hour. That was not the case with my mom. When my dad was there visiting, they just assumed that he could change her wet pants since he was already there. The whole reason she was there was to have someone do the work so my dad didn’t have to do it. Several times on the weekend, the public bathrooms were filthy and disgusting.

It is a nice facility for independent living, but it is poorly managed. There is not enough communication between the staff and residents. And the food is very poor quality.

Cost for the 2 weeks of stay 1. Not very satisfied if all information I was to provide. Considering my father DIED! they fake it so much just to get you in the door. They quality of care provide #0. Plus no one answers phone when you call ?? Hopefully new owners got rid of the dead weight management team and some of the employees

They are bad!! They have had constant turnover. The food is terrible. They serve pizza and chili, and serve the food on paper plates. They are awful, and I would never use them again. They need to get a better food plan/menu, they have no security/safety, and they never answer the phones. They have had a change in upper management in the last few months. The only thing that is great, is the location.

This community used to be worth the money it charges. Unfortunately, the dollar means more than the patients, grounds or building. If you look closely you will see it is a glorified nursing home. Patients parked in front of the TV, broken equipment, dirty chairs and towels covering up stains from urine on furniture. Please make sure you take a COMPLETE tour looking at EVERYTHING before you spend this kind of money.

When I had to ask four staff members to help me move mom from the wheel chair to the recliner and it took 29 minutes. That falls into several categories. I want to find a better place for mom. This is the third place for mom, but I what my mom to be well taken care of.

Do not put your family member in this facility. Terrible issues (medication disbursement, hygiene issues, housekeeping issues and activities for residents). You will be very disappointed. Hard to find staff members. Extremely hard to get in touch with Executive Director or the Management team responsible for this community. Once Sodalis left it has gone downhill. Not one single employee works there anymore they all left.

The management was inept. They promised activities and level of service that were never followed through with. There were some wonderful staff who were not treated well or given necessary resources and support by management. They were understaffed for the needs residents. The most concerning thing was that they were several medications errors with multiple residents. Unless things have changed, I would not recommend placing a loved one there.

Terrible experience in the end. Monitoring in public areas so inadequate that my husband wound up in ER [Removed]. Due to severe Sundowning issues brought on by mismanaged medication regimen through a (recommended by Sodalis) hospice service, my husband was asked to leave 3 days before November--after I had prepaid $5250 for November.[Removed]. They refused to refund any of the November monies although he never spent a day in their care in November.

I’m writing this review to expose what greedy, uncaring people run this place. I was going to move my mother to the memory care facility. I put down our $500 deposit but unfortunately my mother passed away a week before we were going to move her in. I had written the deposit check several days prior to and they hadn’t deposited it. However, the day she passed I called them and they chose to cash the check that day. Once I realized the check had been cashed and cleared our bank I called them only to be told that our money would be refunded within 30 days. The 30 days have passed and I’ve tried to contact them several times only to get voice mail and no return calls. People that can take advantage of people in their worst times aren’t people that I would entrust my love ones to, I’m just glad my mother never had to experience that lack of caring.

My mom has been here for a year. Sodalis is very good at marketing, but very poor at follow through. There activities calendar is full of things that look great, but only about 30-40% of them actually occur. Chef prepared meals include cold sandwiches and canned soup. Most residents are dissatisfied, but concerns fall an deaf ears. No management to be found on the weekends. In fact their work days run about 9:30-4:00, when they are actually here. More time is spent marketing the facility at chamber of commerce functions, at the SA rodeo, etc. marketing, marketing marketing, instead of taking care of the needs of current residents. EXTREMELY DISSAPPOINTED that I chose to put my mom here.!
