Wonderful place just out of my parents budget.

Great community. Really nice facility and friendly and happy people.

Really nice place, probably 2nd place after the other Brookdale.

It was a good tour and our guide seemed knowledgeable about the community. The facility was nice and clean. After seeing the community we found out that the staff are not knowledgeable about our dementia and they had no rooms available.

We looked into this community when we were searching for some respite care for a loved one. This was a nice looking place, and the staff all seemed very friendly. However, it didn't look like the level of care would have been appropriate for my loved one, this place looked to be more independent than what we were looking for.

My mother and I loved this facility. It is a bit outdated, which is the only reason I am giving it a four star rating. But the people were friendly (Elizabeth was fabulous!), the residents were welcoming, the apartment was larger than others, and they seemed to be more in line with the activities that interest my mother. In addition, the residents seem to be higher functioning and along the same level or better than my mother. This makes me feel as though they will help to keep my mother young.

This was a nice facility but the location was not the best for our family.

This is a fine community, and my tour of it went well. The staff was kind, and my questions were answered. The community looked nice, everything appeared to be well-kept. Everything went well, and it was a good experience.

This community could use some help. They could definitely improve in some areas. It is pretty clean, with the exception of some of the common area bathrooms. I know that they offer activities, but they could definitely do a better job with engagement. I'm not impressed with the employees checking in on my loved one. I was under the impression they would check on my loved one daily, and then let me know if I should be concerned with anything, which is not how it has been. I was told they could accomodate my needs, so hopefully things will change soon.

My god mother is there. The administrator is wonderful. My god mother is not happy but I don't think she would be happy anywhere but home so it's not a reflection of Washington Commons, it's her. It's clean and seems to be well run. It's been a good experience. For how hard of a situation this is, they were wonderful.

The staff did a nice job with my tour, they showed me around and answered my question. I just felt that it was an older building and needed some updating and that they were not staffed well and it did not seem that it was secure enough. I did not think that this community would be the best fit for my mother.

I was not very impressed with my tour of this community. The guy who gave my loved one and I the tour did not seem to have the answers to many of the questions I had for him. He just was not very knowledgeable in the facility and everything it had to offer. I just ended up not choosing this place after that experience.

Highly under staffed for the patient to staff ratio. The cooks do not have proper certification. The food is almost all frozen, call pendents sound off for a long time before answering. Administration is awful, I had called [name removed] the current administrator about an issue myself and family were having with care . It took several days for a return call and when I did receive the call she was very nonchalant about the situation and unsure of how to handle it. Come to find out she is a brand new administrator just graduated from school. She needs more training and guidance. My mother is no longer in the facility. She is at [name removed] thriving living a full life with fresh (not frozen) food and a wonderful administrator.

My loved one was a resident at Halcyon at West Bay for a short stay and it was okay, but moving him was the best thing for him. At this time, I would not recommend them to others. There has been a huge turnover of employees resulting in Dementia patients being cared for by people not known to them.

Back when this was a Brookdale (Maybe a year or so ago) it was a nice place to live. Nice employees, lots of activities, good food. Things have since changed other than Halcyon taking over the community, many employees were fired or quit. Upper management needs a change. And yelling at residents is NEVER ok but for some reason at least 1 person in that building thinks it is. Residents don't get anywhere near the attention they should get. With Halcyon it's all a money grab before the run the whole thing into the ground.

This place smells disgusting. The staff to resident ratio is low. There is a problem with flies in the residents rooms due to unsanitary conditions. I would not put my loved one in this place.

This place is horrible!! There was one aide for 36 residents. My mom was there for 10 months and it was the worst mistake I made!!! Also was alot of scandalous activity!! Please stay away and save yourself aggravation!!

Bed bugs on entire first floor. Disgusting smells. Terrible owners! Don’t deserve the profits from moms pay. Close this place forever

This place is a total [Removed]. My grandmother was here until she passed. We had no choice with her financial situation. We went to visit every chance we could (at least once a week). There were 3 separate occasions where she fell an no one had contacted our family until the hospital she was taken to called us. The sewers backed up in her room and she & the 2 other ladies were never moved out during this. There were times we found suspicious bruising on her. Our checks were misplaced & we were never able to get a hold of anyone via telephone. It's a shame that my parents both work full time jobs or else we they would of taken her home. I'm not bashing everyone who worked there because there were a few really nice staff members that did interact with my grandmother, but as far as the higher ups, there's a special place in hell for you.

my father in law was in there for a month and they required a deposit for the second month, that was 9 months ago and still no refund.we call and they say the check is in the mail.i would think twice for putting your loved one in there. looks like we will have to get other action to settle this problem.
