The victory Centre is a good organization but that is dependent upon the needs of your love one. The staff for the most part are friendly and professional. But there are times when neglect have to be pointed out before the situation is rectified.

Memory Care

We did a virtual tour today. Assisted living looked great. Bright, clean up to date. Memory care appeared clean and bright too. But more basic and not as home-like or comfortable as assisted living. The only widows to see outside were from the resident's bedrooms or during good weather going out to a secure patio. Pet therapy isn't allowed because a staff member is scared of dogs. I don't understand that, since pet therapy would benefit the residents.

A good value

Because of covid things are pretty much locked down so it is hard to asses the facility at this point. We chose Concord place at the time due to the familiar location and the fact that they have different levels of care, so she can upgrade and stay here and we will not have to move her.

Our time at The Grand

We chose this facility because I was moving my mom from out of state and aesthetics were important to her, this was a brand new facility. They also had a ton of activities to offer for the residents. The rooms sizes here are very good. It is nice because they have 2 different dining rooms, it is restaurant style so they have a menu o choose from for each meal. The care was provided bu a different company while we were here a year ago, and that is where we had an issue. I think it would be better if they offered their own caregivers. I would recommend.

First impressions are an important, and unfortunately I did not have a great first impression. When I arrived, the receptionist said she didn't have me on the list for a tour, and when I told her I scheduled it through APFM she said "oh, that's why I don't know about it", and then proceeded to tell me that the person I was scheduled to meet was in a meeting, she couldn't reach her by phone, and she wasn't sure when the meeting would be over so I had to sit and wait and see if she showed up. Fortunately, the person I needed to meet with actually did know I was coming and she arrived on time. As we were touring the facility, we stopped at the dining room just as one of the residents walked off an elevator. She had very noticeable facial wounds that appeared to be recent, but were not bandaged in any way. She had come down to the dining room for lunch, but it was only 10:30 a.m. The Sales Director helped seat her outside the dining room and told her it would be another hour before lunch, and then we continued the tour. This made me uncomfortable - while I don't know her situation, I was concerned about the resident and felt like they should've done more for her (I would've understood and gladly would've waited). PROS: The facility is clean and has larger rooms including separate living and sleeping areas. They are the sister building to Alexian Village of Elk Grove, so they offer the same "age in place" philosophy and are truly interested in making this the last place your loved one would ever need. The pricing is fairly all inclusive. CONS: The ratio of caregivers to staff is high (26 to 1), but they say they do adjust as needed. Overall, I just didn't feel this was the "one".

Nice Community, but Difficult Location

I toured here at Concord Place, and I thought that the community itself was very nice and that the people there were wonderful. However, the location is hard to get to, and the outside view from any of the apartments is just depressing. While the community itself is nice, it just isn't the right fit for us.

Possible care for family

I toured this community for the care for my mom.The staff was very nice and they did answer the questions we had. The menu seems to be good. They do offer a nice life of activities and they have an indoor pool that is available to the residents and social activities. The community is dark and does need to appear more bright for the residents. We would recommend a tour of the community for other families.

It is Pretty good

It's pretty good but they promised a lot more than they gave. Their weekly housekeeping is fine. The meals are very tasty and as a diabetic they don't have options available. However they have made some adjustments to manage my meals like putting any sauce on the side. They have a lot of fruit and luscious desert that is hard for me to keep away. The community is very lovely and beautiful, I like that it is open.

This was not what I was looking for. The community did not have a home feeling to it. The staff was nice, but not what we wanted. It was too big and not well taken care of. They do have activites. I suggest that other families tour the community for the care of a loved one to see if it is what they are looking for.

Dining experience

[Removed] I hold this facility to a pretty high standard. As my Grandmother lives here her personal opinions matter a great deal. Overall, I love the place because of the warm and welcoming staff, layout, and involvement of the staff. One area I'd like to point out is dining. The idea behind it is classy, socially-driven, and pleasant. My grandmother has very few complaints and so do I. I commend the staff for taking her suggestions and implementing them into some of the meals, she's a very critical person when it comes to food. The options are not always favorable but more often than not she enjoys it and that is great in my book. The options of entrees for all three meals allows them more independence and variety. You cannot go wrong with that. Being a nurse, I believe food ties into wellness of mind, body and spirit.

They Have Their Good And Bad

The good experience comes from my friend liking it very much here. It is a clean place and his room is well maintained. The staff are able to give him the attention that he needs. There has been no complaints about his care. The bad part is with the food, it is very average and not gourmet. The meals could use some improvement.

New Community!!

I'ts a clean community with wonderful staff. Everything is in place and clean. I really hope that some stability can happen. The food doesn't taste very good and my father does't get options on dinner. The meal portions at the moment are really small. The director needs to start making sure that everything is not so disorganized and that meals are served the way they said they would be.

New Activity Manager is great!

My mom has lived at this community for a number of years. They have gone through several management changes over the last few years. Some changes have been good. One change in particular has been really good. The activity manager Katherine is outstanding. She is very kind to my mom and encourages her to try new things. Ever since she got there, I noticed that my mom is more upbeat and happy. Their is definitely a whole more going on there then there used to be.
